When I first used this site in 2012 I had no problems whatsoever meeting real people it was just narrowing it down to who I would choose. I started up an account again about a month ago with a paid gold membership and haven't come across ANY real people. They're all fake. A couple conversations went as far as sure we can hook up but I have to pay up front first either with cash or an apple gift card. What a waste of time and money.

The basic problem with AdultFriendFinder is the lack of verification and control over the members, along with a limited number of verified and confirmed members. Every single day you will see dozens of new non-confirmed non-verified members appear. Most disappear within 24 hours as well after they pop-in, troll for some victims, try to get people off the site into other mails / conversations, and disappear before the systems cancel them. If you limit your searches to just verified just confirmed persons, you will notice there are NOT a lot of people within 100 miles of you unless in a big city. Now AFF may argue that just means there are people on the site for free. But they limit the ability to communicate and interact with free members. So you are left with having to hope they are not scammers as you will have to take any coversation outside the system. That's because the scammers will use the same "Just a standard members so I can't do X excuse, contact me and y". And then the Y will be spread out so the system can't detect the email or kik user name which they will automatically blank out if seen. And this is the basic flaw with the system. They COULD set a much lower price standard+ membership that would allow some basic communications beyond free to get people into the site. But instead for them it's all ($40 per month) or nothing.

Another flaw with the system is, lets be honest, what people are looking for. The number of people looking for very nice body attributes on both sides is basically fantasy world considering their own attributes at times (like a big sized woman stating she will only respond to younger, fit, hung men everyone should leave, or a gentleman stating he wants a woman with 44+ size). Once you limit searches to verified or confirmed and eliminate fantasy / dreamers, you are often left with almost no choices. And for $40 per month that is pathetic.

$40 down the drain. Spent on bots and fakes, because I believed that my profile had been viewed and liked by real people. Of course after I paid those profiles were nowhere to be found. Anyway I left it. You can't decypher who is who on AFF, there are just way too many scammers and fakes there, they draw you in by sexy profiles just to pull in some cash from you.
It seems impossible to find a good-looking girl who is not a gold-digger on AFF. All they want is your money (both AFF and its girls). AFF is all about wasting your money and time, you can't get a real date, unless you pay these girls.

I am sorry, only about 4% of what you view on profiles may have genuine profiles. AFF has a variiety of profiles listed to meet anyone's needs, HOWEVER, the are not all real but fake! 96% fake - Need I say more? Then there are new members who email you who are false accounts asking you to call to scam your phone or emails. Not work your time or money if you are a Man looking for a Women.

99% of profiles are fake. Everyone is a scammer asking for money. 6 months 3 free and 3 gold. Resulted in 0 dates 0 real conversations hours of time wasted hitting on bots and I believe the same scammer thousands of times

AFF was popular from 2003-2012. In fact, back around 2007-2008 or so I read a study that said 5% men in the USA had an active profile on AFF. That's not considering all the men that tried the site and then deleted their profile. However, what I noticed about AFF back in those times is it was mostly used by Gay and Bi men. Some of them were open about being Gay, but there were quite a few that pretended to be straight. I'm not Gay or even Bi, but I quickly figured out that a Gay Male could quickly find what he was looking for on AFF. So my opinion of AFF is the site itself was in the closet. It was marketed towards Straight Men, but AFF worked better for Gay or Bi Men and Trans Women.

I prefer Trans Women and back then AFF was the best site on the internet for meeting a Trans. I was on AFF from 2006 to 2011, but eventually I met someone and we agreed to become exclusive.

Eventually that relationship came to an end and I tried AFF again in 2019 through early 2020. Boy... did AFF become a Ghost town. Almost all of the Trans women are gone, except for a handful of Crossdressers. It took a month, but I noticed a lot of the people on AFF were hold-overs from the mid-2000's. AFF has been replaced by Free Apps, Free website, and sites that use GPS to track people.

Anyone that's younger might not know what the online meet market was like throughout most of the 2000's decade. Most sites operated on monthly subscription format. Anyone could sign up for free, but those users were blocked from sending emails unless they paid anywhere from $20-30 a month. Adultfriendfinder still operates this way.

I was a member off and on roughly '07 thru '10 there about. I just signed up on April Fools Day of all days (2020) I see some of the same female pics on profiles with the towns or locations changed. I had to buy a retailer gift card that was acceptable thru "PAY GARDEN" as opposed to my credit union's authentic VISA activated gift card. It zapped the entire balance on the card of $100.00 for 98 days instead the advertised amount for 3 months. Once I got online couldn't see pictures that were shown in a capsule "peak" for the profile even though I had paid for a "GOLD" status. I could entire the IM section of the site only see those who were supposed to be active. A drop box appeared advertising benefits to members who paid additional monthly fee on top of the advertised fee of like $29.95 a month I could only email other members and that was the only worth wile benefit other than getting a limited, visual over view of someone's profile. Out of numerous profile's I met, maybe, 5 women who's pics matched the person. Mostly fakes and scams. If you're actually looking for someone look elsewhere. If you're bored and don't mind wasting some money, go crazy.

79 percent of the woman i contacted would date or be with me only in a sexual way requested a financial payment first, now AFF does say report if any one ask you for payment for there services yet 79 percent do, so they do nothing about it,, 15 percent would wont you to gmail them than have you sign up on another site were you would need to sign up with a credit card saying its free to sign up, but if you wont to send or receive messages you would have to pay a fee, 4 percent turned out to be bots, than the 2 percent you mite date you but would not bed you until they got to know you.

I actually had great years with AFF, but it has gone downhill.

BEWARE gift card scam:

Always say no, but if you do buy it, send pic of gift card/receipt. Next they'll ask you to scratch and get card # and PIN. Say bye bye. Then, they'll say, "come by anyway" -you'll get everything but the apartment #. Once there, it's their chance to get you. They'll tell you they don't want the card#/PIN -they want you to sign in and check card balance with that info on your own - but the link they give you is a fake control link. Once you enter info - they've got your card and deplete it immediately.

They'll leave. 90 cents on it... do not refill they get it again. GIFT CARD = SCAM

Fake doesn't even begin to describe this website. Waste of money and time! It's predominantly gay and prostitution

I have been on AFF for approx 6 years. In that time, I met ONE real person in person. Her ad was true and photos were current and real. That was the exception. As many men have articulated, the majority of women's ads are either bogus or are scams. The give-a-way is often same day posts with one photo. When I call it out as a scam, the profile is deleted by the next day. A lady in my older age range from Stone Mountain appeared to be a good fit. The attraction from her side was "instantaneous". Then I'm informed she is working on an assignment overseas but can't wait to get back to hook up. The next communication informs me her laptop has been damaged and special software for her precious stone business is not available to complete her assignment. If I send her a replacement laptop, she'll pay me back. It goes on from there and the baloney keeps getting deeper. I had several of these and reported them, but AFF provided no communication in response. They clearly do not police their site, do not respond to paying customers, and appear to have a real lack of legitimate profiles. To echo another reviewer, AFF has clearly gone downhill over the past 10 years as it does not compare to when I first tried it in 2007.

If i could give -5 stars i would, so basicly i bought membership without thinking for 40$ then it said i had to pay another 25 to get unlimited access, after i did that about 2 hours i realize thats 95% of the ppl on there are fake and are bots, i called up customer service was denied a refund and was told to email billing support, never got a repsonse, called my bank disputed the charges only to find out 2 months later that the money i got back went back to them cause they told my bank that i benfited from the charges (even tho i deleted my account 3 days after i purchased it) and my bank told me i had to contact the merchant, so i did, i spoke to a supervisor who told me that theres nothing he can do because i didnt come to them first ( but i did and i sent a e-mail) and they said they never got my e-mail and it probably didnt go thru or some$#*! like that( e-mail went thru didnt get a e-mail saying it didnt) and told me if i would of contacted them he would of gave me a refund, it seems like its run by indians and they are $#*!ing known for scamming and thats just what happen

This site is too hard on men. My husband lets me date on the side, and it's a great life having my home life and then getting to be single on occasion. So I joined AFF to find some fun and at first it seemed promising, but I soon realized the high cost and fake womens profiles were driving single men away from the site, and that affects the number and quality of my local selections. They need to ease up on single guys.

Deleted a page I had for years, not only that but the site has tons of issues, especially with instant messaging. Don't even bother

I've been on this website for 11 years. The first five we're fine, but it's gone way down hill. I was just hacked on 12/17/2021. I was locked out of my account for 5 days. The B!%#$ uploaded her own nasty face picture, deleted some of my pictures, and message guys using my account. I called Aff
And had to submit my driver's license to prove I was the real person. What a pain in my a@$! The site is only for fakes and gays now.

I struck up conversations with six women. All but one were either out of town (inaccessible), or they had to leave town on an emergency. In both cases, their inaccessibility was the excuse for their not being able to meet in person. It took all of one day for each of them to fall madly in love with me and want to spend the rest of their lives with me. Then, the emergency comes. Now, they need money.
