“Puppy Buyers Beware of 4PuppyPaws.com!”

Kat F.
5/19/16

4PuppyPaws.com formally known as McPuppy advertised the sale of a Teddy Bear puppy out Waldorf, MN. March 2015, I went to their house and my lungs burned from the ammonia stench. I purchased what was presented to me as a Teddy Bear (Shih Tzu/Bichon) puppy from McPuppy. April 2015 I called McPuppy to inquire about the puppy shedding. She insisted the dog she sold me was a Teddy Bear, as she saw the puppy's parents. I had a feeling based on temperament that our puppy wasn't what I thought, so I paid for a DNA test which concluded that he is a Yorkshire Terrier, Shih Tzu, AND an unknown mixed breed. I contacted McPuppy to tell her she didn't sell me a Teddy Bear, but rather a mixed breed. She stated that I had to return the dog if I wanted my money back. I told her I couldn't do that after 7 months of bonding. McPuppy refused to work with me, so I filed papers in court for her fraudulent sale. She stated, "That is your prerogative, as it will be for me to file a counter suit. I will be awaiting the court documents." January 2016, I went to court asking for money back, due to the fraudulent sale. The judge ordered her to pay and they have a judgement against them because of not following the courts order. At the time of purchase, their business was McPuppy.com. Since appearing in court, they have changed the business name to 4PuppyPaws.com Since writing reviews, I have had to jump through the court hoops and filing more, and I did get half of my money back. More importantly, I have been contacted by others who have purchased from this family and received something other than what they were told. They are making deals behind the scenes and returning full payment if a statement is signed agreeing to not post anything negatively in social media. I have also been told that this is a multi-family/generational business in both WI and MN that cross-breeds purebreds and mutts and also passes along genetic issues such as congenital heart defects.

We have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Kat and Terry Fuoss from Burnsville. They seem to thrive on using social/public forums to spread half truths and omissions of facts. March 2015 they purchased a puppy from us. April 2015 Kat called regarding what she believed was a shedding issue, but then did not contact us again until August of 2015. She stated she had done a DNA test and the lineage was not that of what we had sold her. We followed MN State Law and offered a full refund with the return of the puppy. Per our rights under MN State Law, we paid for a DNA test and set up an appointment with our vet for a substantiated DNA test. All they had to do was bring the puppy to the vet appointment and they didn't show up. Kat presented 6 vet bills for shots, neutering, etc from her vet clinic, but the DNA test was performed at a different clinic. Incredibly suspicious as to why one would perform an invasive blood draw at a different vet clinic when they could have done it at their usual vet... It is also fact that her DNA test was not conclusive per the company that did the test. Kat stated she was going to keep the dog and that we would be providing a full refund, as well as pay for her other expenses and if not she would take us to court. Before our first court appearance we were contacted by the show Judge Judy. We then received correspondence from Kat telling us that we should go on the show, as they would pay for any judgment and we would get a “free” vacation. Really? We declined as this was not a joke to us. First court appearance was December 16,2015, but needed to be pushed to a second session. Due to Kat's schedule, this was pushed out until January 12,2016. She was suing for over $1600, and the judgment was set at just over $400, due to the fact that again, she was unable to prove her case. The judgment was not docketed until the end of April, and as of 5/20, she still has not contacted us for payment. The court requires a signed payment document by her at the time of payment. She claims we changed our website due to this court issue, which again is not true. After several years with the same hosting provider, we ran into an issue they could not correct, and had to switch providers & domain names. 4Puppypaws.com was started in January 2016 and the court did not reach its decision until March 2016. This is all public record and once again Kat's accusations were untrue. As with any public entity, there will always be a few customers over a decade that are unsatisfied. Feel free to view the public records, visit our Facebook page which has almost 1300 likes in the short 4 years it has been running or visit our new website 4puppypaws.com which already has many references and positive comments since it was rebuilt in January 2016.
