John and his staff have been excellent. They've been reasonable in working with my client's requirements and efficient in their quick processing of our orders.
I directed this feedback here because 1st Dibs is enormously hard to get in touch with. As one example, I was unable to find an e-mail address for their magazine.
Their items are truly exquisite; however, my complaint is about a recent article on a Japanese designer:. Mira Nakashima Reminisces about Her Father's Career and Her Famous Namesake Chair
How unfortunate that this article inserted a pointed reference to the Japanese internment camps in a discussion of art. Will the Liberal Left ever depart from its ongoing vilification of the United States?
Please keep politics out of art journalism? How disappointing that radicals comprise a good chunk of the fashion and art sectors in this country.

Site is slow, but that could be on our end as well. Love the option to create folders and add multiple items in a batch, but does it have to take so many steps to select and add them? Couldn't there be a direct to folder option on the browsing page?
They will steal $1582 from you. Beware! I made a purchase for a ring for $1582. They cancelled the order then said that I never made the order and to try again. They already took out the money! Beware!
I made an offer on a piece to 1st dibs and they send me an acknowledgement on my email. It had the piece and the offer and in payment information it had the usual xxxx with 4 last digits of my credit card. Then above it was my whole credit card number. I could not contact them as no phone on the site and email was to take 24 hours so I had to cancel my credit card for fear someone who had access in the sellers or 1st dibs(or a hacker) would use my credit card without authorization. I got no reply from 1st dibs from the email to them except they cancelled my order. Beware of your payment information dealing with 1st dibs as mine was not securely used.

A piece arrived with a big crack down the middle. It had cost me $3000. I refused to accept this piece from the shipper. 1stDibs did an investigation and told me it was my fault because the original photos had shown a line in the table even though it wasn't an actual crack and nowhere in the description was a crack indicated.
I won this desk at auction but couldn't complete purchase on the app — I kept getting an error message. Now I have succeeded in paying for it on the website, but instead of saying I paid for the action I won, it says I've made on offer to the vendor! I've had several smooth transactions with 1st Dibs before, but this one is riddled with glitches for some reason.
Easy communication with seller. And when I had a glitch with payment because of an expired credit card saved in my 1st Dibs account, I had EXCELLENT help from a 1st dibs customer service advisor. I expect to be equally happy with my purchase.

I love the variety and quality!st Dibs offers however! And this is important! While reading and reviewing images and dimensions info etc. the seller had sent me all of a sudden, the photos and the history of many (not all, oddly) of our messages back and forth vanished. As in NOT available, not showing up in the messages area, maddening.
Everything went great! Wish the shipping quote was faster.

I purchased a table from a vendor on 1st dibs. I sent a wire transfer of 4100 dollars. I never received the goods. Found out the company is a fraudulent company that scams people and never sends the goods. 1st Dibs would not help me at all. I was scammed out of 4100 dollars and 1st Dibs refused to help. They are not a reputable platform. Do not buy through them!

Answer: It's a real company. But as I have learned by experience their policies and buyer protection are a scam. They mark up prices and sell high. You over spend and no way to get a refund. I'm highly disappointed in their ethics. Don't buy, look elsewhere.
