All Internet fora are toxic. Twitter leads the way and even the less powerful Duolingo, where highschoolers dwell, is full of toxicity. Stackexchange was also a contender for a long time. However, the difference here is that the vocal minority and the gatekeepers has the most say.

They tout for feedback; but the moment someone even remotely suggest something new... guess what? It is massively downvoted. Generally, people who have high rating tend to have high intelligence who lack social skills. And this forum is no exception. It is filled with nerds and pseudointellects (probably with super high IQ) devoid of people skills with gaucheries who takes everything literally like Spock overanalyzing every syllable.

They tout to report suspicious activity. But they pin the blame on you for lack of any evidence. For apparent logical people, some of the gatekeepers are the dumbest in the world.

I downvoted several posts and hearted one. I immediately received a DM whose screenshot I attached. So if others downvote my post, then "oh oh it means they just disagree with you". But if I give them dosage of the same medicine, then I am being a hater. Rule for thee, but not for me?

Besides in a truly Democratic system anyone is entitled to leave an opinion via voting without having to follow up with repercussion, harassment and policing. As I said, lack of people skills. You cannot dictate who will like what or what YOU think should be upvoted or not. Your mileage will vary.

Basically they police your behavior in forum judging from the abovementioned behavior. And just like all the woke corporate nonsense, they once posted a long-winded screed about immediate termination or impediment right after Ukraine-war was launched going as far as putting embargo on Russian accounts or something of that line. Anyone who criticized it got their threads locked down in an authoritarian fashion.

I understand it is 'their' forum and they are privy to do anything they want - as am I entitled to my opinion.

Their UI is excellent and minimal of all the clutters unlike chess(dot)com. This is the only reason I am sticking to the website cutting all participation in their toxic forum.

They add fees like anything without letting you know and if you want to question them their automated service says there may be a fee for talking to customer service representative. Fees to talk to customer service? Are you FREAKIN KIDDING me? It's like you pay me to steal from you. Absolutely horrible company.
