Got a real money pit when we hired Beverly-Hanks as my realtor. Found house we thought we would like to have. When we talked to the realtor about checking behind the sellers with the court house, permit office and other county offices our realtor acted like we were trying to do their job. They promised us they would check everything out. Before closing time the realtor contacted us, to let us know that everything checked out on the house. That the disclosure given by the sellers was correct and they could not find any problems with the house. The realtor also advised us on who to get to do the inspection. Don't let them tell you who to get, the one they told us about was new. We thought we had everything covered when we went to close. The day we moved in we started to find problems. A lot of problems. When we talked to the realtor they said that kind of thing happens in NC. No, I am sorry or anything of the sort. It was like you have and you have to live with it. Well this house was to be our dream home. It has been a nightmare. I tried so many times to contact the president of Beverly-Hanks. I never received a reply to my e-mail, phone calls or letters. We were ignored by the company and they never said they would help us with the problems or that they were sorry for the mess up. I don't find it funny that we paid a lot of people to check out this house and yet we got a mess. The sellers lied about the house, the condition of the house and other things. One problem is a right of way that the sellers said belonged to the house next door. The right of way is like a race track and the people that use it will not slow down. (The realtor told us the right of way was not on the property we were looking at.) None of this should have happened, The realtor was told what to look into. Yet they did a half-$#*! job and we are stuck in a mess. They made money off us. I guess if you don't buy a million dollar property then they have nothing to do with you after you sign the contract. They had drinks, cookies and other treats for us when we were buying. Once we got the house they turned real ugly, real fast. So beware. Do your own foot work. I would never want anyone else to be in the shape we are in. They don't care. You will be stuck holding the bag.
