Before I write my entire experience, if you're reading this, just do a google search - this company is a scam. And do a Facebook search! Find all the groups dedicated to the pain and misery this company has created.
I had to book an emergency flight to my sister's wedding. EDreams was the only company giving me options that weren't WAY too expensive. After I bought the tickets, I called my sister to tell her I was on the way and she told me the wedding was off. So, I literally had to cancel my tickets just 1 hour after purchasing them.
Luckily (or so I thought), I was still 1 week out from the flight and I had paid for eDream's "Cancel for Any Reason" insurance.
That's when the nightmare started.
They kept on putting my refund on hold because they were waiting for the airline to reimburse them. This, by the way, was NOT AT ALL how their "Cancel for Any Reason" insurance works. I read the conditions before I paid for the insurance. I was 1 week out from my flight (more than 24 hours) and none of the other limitations applied to my solo trip. Nothing in the conditions stated the airline needed to approve anything. This insurance is purely between the customer and eDreams.
They kept lying about the need to wait for the airline even though I kept quoting their terms and conditions. They would lie that I was going to get my refund in a couple of weeks. And they ROUTINELY lied that they were going to send me an email, or give me a call, or send me something in the mail... they never did any of that. Not once. They did, however, "escalate" my ticket 3 times... absolutely infuriating.
You will fight to chat with a real person, just to get lied to over and over again. You won't be able to reach anybody through email. You won't be able to reach anybody through phone calls. And, by the way, the only way to get connected to a real person in the chat is to not say you're reaching out about your refund. That will send you back to the beginning of the robot questions.
I've been fighting to get my refund for over 6 months. There are people who have been fighting for years.
This is a scam company.
I can imagine that there is somebody out there, somewhere, who has received plane tickets from them. But the scam part of it is that almost every trip requires some finagling. Something always goes wrong. You need your travel agency or discount ticket company to be able to navigate those waters when things don't go perfectly. And "eDreams" is a company that has designed itself to never have to do that. I think they save on overhead costs by literally doing next to nothing. They only invest in their website and in creating insane loops for deflecting complaints.
AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.
