The food here has always been good I have to say, best pizza, chili, nachos, clam cakes, mozambique, and others, buut. I think it was a mistake to remove some of the booths and put movable tables in their place. We went in around dinner time and the TV volumes were completely off, no closed cap. We were led to a table with dirty seats so we moved over one. A few minutes later a big party came in and sat right near us and the waitress proceeded to serve them before us. i went to the hostess stand and told the lady we had been ignored and she apologized and took care of us herself. We loved our food, but things got unruly with the party near us, there was an open area with no tables and the kids at that table went berzerk running around like it was a playground. I think they were bored because it was too quiet, no tv sound or music. The waitress ignored them of course and sat down with the party as if she knew them for a few minutes as the hostess picked up the slack with new customers coming in. We probably will go back since we love the food and value, earlier next time to beat the rush.

Ive been a customer of this health store for years, the quality is always excellent. The products come in well sealed pouches which stay well sealed during shipping, unlike some other companies which pack things too loosely and have leaked in shipping in my experience. This company is always adding new products that are scientifically tested for quality. They have lots of food and supplement products that are storable, and other useful items for survival. I highly recommend it, if the prices seem high its reflected in the quality.

Tip for consumers:
They run sales throughout the year

Because I sleep on my back at an incline to help my heartburn, I use a neckroll as a pillow. Its actually a 'dogbones neckbone' and I love how the shape cradles my head. Because the original stuffing in it was hard, I removed it and stuffed it with plush fiberfill from the craft store. It works ok, but keeps packing down so I have to keep buying more and restuffing it. I thought, there must be some more resilient stuffing out there. I saw the ads for Mypillow and got a crazy idea to buy the travel pillow and cut it open and use most of the filling inside my Dogbone. I finally tried it and though it was a messy process (filling has tiny bits that go everywhere) it was worth it. After a couple nights I have woken up without shoulder numbness. The pillow fluffs right up after use to its original shape, no more 'flatbone' and 'misshapenbone'. I wish I had done this sooner. In addition to being great to sleep on, the patented filling helps a uniquely shaped pillow keep its shape and stay resiliant.

You might think promo links in your inbox or mailer are the best deal, right? Not exactly. There could be a better deal that is publicly advertised on the site and open to new customers that is better than so called 'promos'. You might also think the site will just show you the sale prices as you shop, right? Wrong again. When you click on an inbox promo link to the site, it locks you into it even if your order doesn't qualify, thereby hiding other sale prices from your view and denying them from you when you check out. A brand new customer could be getting a better deal than you. This happened to me recently: I saw the inbox ad for a sale too late because my email was slow, Because I had checked out during the sale period and didn't recieve sale prices, I simply called customer service and asked them to apply the sale prices, and to no avail. They were unable to honor my request, claiming I had used a promo offer, even though my order didn't even qualify. I tried emailing them, and after a couple days they agreed to apply the discount as a credit. The only way to get the current sale on the site is to shop directly at first, and just before checking out, check your inbox for a better promo deal if there is one to apply once all your items are in your cart. It shouldn't be this complicated. Another issue I've had, bottles of shampoo were unwrapped and leaked inside the box and I had to wash off every other item in the box. There is no way to put special instructions on your order, like please bag shampoo and soap.

I love the quality for the price at Aldi, which is why I continue to shop at the East Providence, RI store despite checkout snafus. For one thing, there is no express checkout, so usually there are a couple exasperated people in line with an armload of a few things behind someone with a cartload. For second, there is no bagging area attached to the register so the checkout people put your stuff into a spare cart. You then have to either pick it up by hand, or swap carts. I like to bring my own small folding cart and transfer my stuff into it. Usually the employees are good about moving the cart over so I can load my stuff while they ring the next customer. Sometimes, it doesn't go smoothly and I get a blank stare. Thats what happened on a recent visit. I asked the hippie-looking checkout kid (a young Jerry Garcia) to move the cart over so I could load my stuff (I saw that the next lady in line had her own cart). He blanky replied, 'I can't do that'. So I started loading my stuff right there, and predictably, the next lady in line started complaining that I was in her way. The checkout kid finally swapped the carts. It was awkward. Its ironic that Aldi sells the same mini carts I use, pictured full of groceries, yet doesn't seem to easily accomodate them in the checkout line.

Update: I went shopping on Halloween Saturday, and like most Saturdays before, there was a single, long checkout line snaking all the way down one of the shopping aisles, preventing customers still shopping from reaching any of the merchandise there. The harried checkout guy (same guy as before) yelled 'Neext!' to each customer in succesion while three female employees congregated at a closed register chatting and laughing, ignoring the waiting throng. As I checked out, he barely spoke a word to me, his attitude seemed to reflect the general chaos of the checkout area, and it's not even the holidays yet. I know ALDI tries to reinvent the wheel in alot of their store features, and it works, keeping prices low. But, I don't think the checkout process is a good place to do that, meaning they really need a '20 items or less' lane to keep things orderly. There's a reason why other groceriy stores have used it for years, it works by giving customers a choice in how long they choose to wait.

My review is about, of all things, the new hot cups, which are paper, at least here in MA. They become so hot to the touch when filled that you can barely hold them without getting burned. There is no sleeve like at Starbucks. I would recommend saving some of the styrofoam ones before they become obsolete, as you can leave one in your cupholder to insulate the super hot cup and handle it. My friend has used the same one many times and he says the new cup fits inside of it.

We have visited the Somerset, MA KFC several times since they reopened after being closed in the beginning of the pandemic. The original recipe dinners were satisfactory, mashed potatos and coleslaw were ok. My friend said the new fries weren't as good as the wedges used to be. He liked the chicken sandwich. The only complaints, if you get a breast watch out for the broken wishbone which is still attached and in the meat. The breast was tasty, though. There was a slight communication problem in the drive through, she put white meat in after I requested dark. The rest of our orders were accurate and the food was a good value.

In the last 6 months, about half our visits to Popeyes in Fall River, MA resulted in orders that were shortchanged. On one occasion, the pies we paid for were not in the bag and I had to go back in again and wait in line a second time. On another occasion, one of the wings had broken bones. On another occasion, the cups of cajun rice were only half filled. And on the last visit, I recieved a wing instead of a breast in a 2-piece dinner, which means, yes, there were only two wings in the box. Because the takeout window is so small, its nearly impossible to look through all the bags for errors at point of pickup. The location has no drive thru. I wouldn't recommend it unless you don't mind getting less food than you paid for. Although the food is good, it can be pricy, making this problem most frustrating.
