SAMSUNG'S POLICY: IF YOU HAVE DEFECTIVE PARTS ON YOUR OUT OF WARRANTY SAMSUNG PRODUCT, SAMSUNG WILL CHARGE YOU A FEE IF YOU REQUEST SERVICE ON THEIR WEBSITE. IF YOU CALL 1-800-SAMSUNG AND REQUEST SERVICE THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR A SERVICE TECH AND REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE PARTS.
My Samsung Ice Maker was making a knocking noise and was leaking water inside the refrigerator. It was not under warranty. I called for repair and the authorized dealer told me they were too busy and I should request service through Samsung even though the ice maker was not under warranty. So I did just that. I went online and ordered service through Samsung. I was told the charge would be $260.40. I authorized the charge and scheduled an appointment. When the service tech comes to my home he said the service call should be free. He had to replace some parts which were defective. He said Samsung called it FOC. I contacted Samsung on 6/21/2021 and the person I talked with agreed. However, I was charged on my card. I contacted Samsung again and they said they would have to investigate. They would get back with me. That didn't happen. I called today, 7/2/2021. I was told the charge of $260.40 was not going to be reversed.
