Saw the TV ads for thezebra.com service, and thought I'd use it to compare insurance rates. A waste of time! It asks you to enter everything (intelligent websites automatically get details such as the year the house is built once you enter the address) and in the end, it gives you INCORRECT information. The quotes are WAY higher than if you get the quote DIRECTLY from the insurance company that thezebra.com results show. Moreover, thezebra.com provides only a couple of quotes. Once you click on the links of the insurance companies listed in the results, you must start entering the info from the very beginning. The user interface is also glitchy, and if you try to go back to the previous entry, or edit the info, it doesn't work. The email thezebra.com sends is equally useless and a waste of resources (time, network bandwidth, etc) as illustrated by the attached screenshot.
Hi Honest -
We're sorry you did not have an extraordinary savings experience with The Zebra. Many factors go into calculating rates, and the rates come directly from the companies we partner with. We have no control over the rates produced. We are so glad you took the time to compare though! Smart consumers compare. Rates are always changing, so we invite you to check back with us in 6-12 months to make sure you are still receiving a cost and coverage that works best for you.
As for the website, thank you for sharing your experience. We'll connect with our internal team and see if this is an issue that other users are experiencing. - Daniel W
