Verified purchase

I bought a Maytag 21.7 cu ft freezer on Build.com on 06. 10. 21 for $929. Build.com represented on its website that freezer would ship on 06. 22. 21. So far so good - decent price & reasonable shipping timeframe. However, as 6. 22. 21 arrived, I called Build.com to verify that freezer has shipped and was told that freezer was backordered until 12. 29. 21. What am I going to do with those 2 cows or 1,200 lbs of meat that are coming in shortly? Build.com does not seem to care. I asked Build.com to substitute a GE freezer, for which they had 67 in stock in my region. They said NO, even though Build.com had deliberately put misleading delivery information on its website. In fact even as of this morning, they show a delivery time frame of 3-7 weeks, for this same Maytag freezer, which is another lie. Why would anyone buy from Build.com? No Truth or Honesty with this company, only Greed. They had no issue with taking my money & holding onto it since 06. 10. 21, knowing full well I would never have the product ordered until very end of December. The first image shows how Build.com's website is still presenting misleading information as of this morning (07. 26. 21) & the 2nd image shows my proof of purchase on 06. 10. 21.

I paid $5,400 for a for a top of the line LG Refrigerator & LG Range, delivered on 11. 27. 17, with a 2 year mfg warranty. Since purchasing the products, I have been unable to change the refrigerator air filter and have made numerous phone contacts with the LG Customer service dept and the local LG Service repair man (Mr. Sheldon):
- LG Customer service denies that I have a current warranty, but they are willing to sell me a new warranty once the existing warranty expires in Nov-19.
- The technicality here is that my LG warranty is through LG manufacturing, which LG customer service does not recognize when you call for help
- Customer service and the local LG Service repair man (Mr. Sheldon) told me the air filter is very difficult to remove and that I should apply finger pressure to the outside housing. When I applied such finger pressure, the housing cracked. LG Customer Service (Daryl) states that this should be a reimbursable expense, since I was instructed to apply finger pressure) however Mr. Sheldon states that if he comes to repair & replace, than he will definitely charge me.

I bought the $5,400 appliance package, because I could rest assured that the refrigerator & range were both fully covered under the 2 year mfg warranty, which was prominently advertised on Costco website. What a joke! LG Customer service will take all necessary action to avoid all warranty repairs, including denying that the customer has a warranty and allowing local LG service Manager (Mr. Sheldon) to bill customer for the broken part, even though LG customer service says it should be reimbursable. I think LG's slogan should be 'Like a bad neighbor, LG is never there for its customers.' It can also be summed up that LG does not honor its customer warranties. Buyer beware, always best to buy only from those companies that do honor their customer warranties. Elizabeth Woodford *******819

Costco, specifically Manager Ted Giesy, brought my installation damages to a close and fairly reimbursed me for damages incurred. I will buy major appliances and other large purchases from Costco going forward. Elizabeth Woodford

I paid $3,200 for a refrigerator to be delivered on 11. 27. 17, white glove delivery service. The installers damaged the wood frame on the right side of the wall when attempting to quickly install the refrigerator, without removing the refrigerator doors, which they should have done. I have had numerous phone & email contact with the delivery company & over 15 different employees at Costco, to no avail. 2+ months later, no damage assessment has been done & Costco shows no urgency to fix. The damage could have been readily fixed by a contractor for roughly $100 or less. Its time to return the refrigerator.

Tip for consumers:
Costco does not care if the delivery process goes right or not. All Costco cares about is making the sale and then the customer is on his own.
