I enjoy shopping at DEBS, I would go to the one in Peoria, IL all of the time. The employees there were nice and weren't in your business when you shopped.
I now live in Springfield, IL and the DEBS customer service here has gone downhill. Like I said, I enjoy shopping here and I actually found a pair of shoes for only $8! I found other accessories for $2 including a necklace and a pair of sunglasses. I wanted to pay for the accessories separately because I knew I had more money in a different account. I asked to do so but she didn't cancel the transaction, I just paid for transaction using two debit cards. Which I've never done before so I was confused. I believe she was in too much of a hurry to ring me up to get done with the other job she needed to do like hanging up new inventory. The sunglasses rang up as 5.99 when they were on the $2 rack (ALL clearance was marked down so I made sure). I'm not the kind of person that tries to get something marked down when it's not on sale... I was given a rude attitude about my transactions and that the sunglasses were ringing up wrong. I apologized about the sunglasses even though it was not my fault and I never received an apology or a response back. I also waited in line for a while, while another sales associates "cleaned" up the register counter, never made eye contact with me, and never asked if I needed anything or if I needed to be rang up. Really? It was all very rude and I felt discriminated against even though I am a white female student. I am not rich, I only wanted to buy items for my birthday and I was treated very poorly. They should not have judged me so quickly. I was never greeted at the door either...
(I work in retail so I know how one should treat a customer)
I would have said something to the manager but the person ringing me up was actually the manager...
