I purchased the Atom Pro camera from Zetronix, and here are the facts. There were SIX functions that didn't work on it: the audio, the time/date stamp, the PIR, the view directly to TV, the loop override, and the "one year" (in motion sensor setting) battery died after less than two weeks. Trying to give the company the benefit of the doubt, I worked with tech support for over 8 months. We exchanged 22 emails, had one long phone call, and I sent them three screen shots. After all that, NONE of the issues was resolved. So I finally asked for a refund. They refused. I now own a product of theirs that doesn't work, and they have my money. I strongly suggest shopping elsewhere for your video equipment.
I ordered the Lark 4K video sunglasses I received the item in 2 weeks once I got the item I filed the instructions first problem was there's no app for the glasses that was stated in the instructions on the App Store second problem was the glass is only powered on twice and when he did power on it was impossible to connect to Wi-Fi to my phone and there was no app again which made the glasses unusable for what I needed I contacted the company they said I had to pay for a return shipping and they would charge me a 15% stocking fee once they received the item they said it would take at least 15 days for a refund I never received a refund I had to contact my bank and file a dispute to get my money back terrible company terrible products terrible customer servicelo
Bought a camera and it was useless. Nothing they have works probably. Notice how you CAN'T leave a review on their website. You have to pay return shipping for a deceitfully advertised produce. They work by making it hard for you to return. Even though the PRODUCT is defective they charge a 20% re-stocking fee.
We have two with frustrating experiences. They work but aren't on line enough to be useful. Typical access yields the following:
Prior to purchase I asked if the unit could be plugged in (difficult to access location). Was informed it could be. Purchased this along with USB charger and assumed I had time to plug in the unit, as the ORIGINAL posting stated 6 Month Battery {company has since changed this "misinformation"}. Unit needed recharging every 1-2 weeks. After many emails regarding that, I was told battery was only good for 6 months, if it wasn't used (NO Motion Detection?) Excellent news for a "Hidden spy cam". Informed them that while plugged in the unit strobed a green light. Was told they would look into this. I finally received an email claiming that "they covered the unit in Black Electrical Tape", hoping to fix the issue. Indeed, nothing like a HIDDEN smoke detector covered in black electrical tape to remain surreptitious. Yet, this does not stop light from around the base (where it attached to wall or ceiling). On top of this, the plug into the unit is 1/2" deep and can NOT be used while attached to the base. Not even worried about picture quality - nice pink\purple\magenta shading on everything?, or the fact that recharge takes 1-2 days and unit needed to be reinitialized each time. To return, they want a restocking fee and I need to pay for return. Even though I was given false information prior to purchase. Also, should I return and purchase something else, I will pay a second import tax (Canada). Understand Zentronix is not responsible for initial tax however, if given correct information in the first place I would've purchased something else and paid this tax the once. Guess next step is to contact Master Card nd dispute the purchase.
Keeps going out and several calls to tech support go unanswered. Manual does not come with cameras and these are not worth all the money I spent.
I didn't do my research first, so here I am writing a review, so that hopefully someone else will do their research first.
I purchased a pair of video recording eyewear from the company's website, which was advertised as video electronically stabilized. This sounded very positive, as video recording eyewear has a bad reputation for poor video quality across the entire industry. So this was going to be a first! The glasses were quite expensive, which stood to reason.
When I received the product (which took almost an entire month to receive (which may be no fault of the company)), I was eager to test them out. The design was different from any other I've seen on the market, so I was hopeful that this would be the pair of eyewear that stood above the rest. I charged them up, tried them out, and I was very disappointed when I watched the video back.
First off, let me start by saying the remote start and stop is an attractive feature, and it did work as advertised. I give the company credit for that. However, there was absolutely zero image stabilization, and the image quality was below average. This was terribly misleading, and when I went to return the product, I was advised that there was a 15% restocking fee, which is pretty standard, industry wide. I was aware of this. It was further explained to me that if the glasses were found to be defective, the restocking fee would be waived. It was not waived. I was somewhat hopeful that the false advertising would deem the product defective, but I was mistaken.
On the plus side, I did receive my refund back to my original method of payment in a relatively quick timeframe. Customer service was quick to respond, and was always helpful and sounded professional, even if they didn't honor the defect warranty. Four stars for customer service, but one star for the poor quality and false advertising.
Overall, I give Zetronix a two star rating, because while their product is advertised as being above the competition, it is barely on par with many other similar procucts on the market. If they charged for their product accordingly, and didn't mislead in the product's description, I would have only myself to blame for the mistaken purchase. And now that I have returned the product, someone else is going to pay full price for my exact same returned pair, which the company has now made an extra 15% profit off. If that doesn't say scam, I don't know what does. Bottom line, you do not get what you pay for. (I'm attaching credit card statements to show the original price, and return amounts to substantiate my review.)
I'd change this review if the company offered me the remaining 15% refund. But as of now, this review stands.
EDIT:
Upon looking at the website, I see they're offering a discount on the product I purchased, yet you'll notice the electronic video stabilization is still advertised. I am doubtful I will receive a full refund, but as I said, if I do, my review above will reflect it.
Wow. All the items on this site are five times more expensive than practically any other site you visit. See ya.
I returned the item with a zetronix provided RMA I have the receipt and zetronix email acknowledgment of receiving the return. I also provided all other information requested. This was in November and December 2022. Repeated emails have produced no refund. So they took my money and the returned device. This is the trait of a conman/thief.
They LIE LIE and LIE some more. Camera quality is poor, claimed 4k not even HD. Overpriced. Shipping next day, try 9 10 days to your door. They claim 100%satisfaction guarantee, then want you to pay return shipping and restocking fee for their falsely advertised claims. I contacted customer service and wasted half an hour in a chat that got no where. BUYER beware, only proceed if you are willing to file a credit card dispute because that is how your transaction will likely end
I purchased a item through there website and they took my money. Almost a week later I tried contacting them and they said they had not shipped my item for security reasons. I have tried calling them multiple times and they have not answered. Very bad customer service and i have not received my money back instead i had to file a claim with the bank.
I made the mistake of buying a wifi camera from this company. The software they want you to use (Tuya) is poor: it doesn't link well on our wifi (another company's camera/app combo we have used is much more dependable), it was finicky to set up (the other company's app was much easier), it doesn't uninstall easily from iPhone, and they make you PAY for push notifications (the other brand's software included that free).
I asked for a refund (less a 15% restocking fee, which, frankly, I understand). Instead of an RMA, I got a reply asking what the problem was. I told them their software is poor and their equipment, while nicely built, is overpriced.
They advertise "hassle free returns"! That IS NOT what I'm getting!
They told me tech support would contact me within one day. That's not what I asked for! I just want 85% percent of my money back! I guess I'm just gonna throw it in the trash and count it as a $339 lesson!
UPDATE 11/18/22: Two days after I posted this review, Zetronix sent me an RMA number. I had also sent them an email telling them that I didn't want support, I wanted 85% of my money back.
I'm returning the product. I'll see how it all goes.
Please everyone don't buy these products of this company, you will trouble when return the itemsssss
Lark - SuperHD WIFI Video Recording Sports Camera Sunglasses
Save yourself time, money and hassle and DON'T BUY THESE.
- FLIMSY DESIGN: the "durable" frame started falling apart the first day - the right ear support constantly comes disconnected and showed signs of wear out of the box. Perhaps they are selling refurbished units as "new".
- HARD TO OPERATE: the manual is in broken English and hard to understand or follow - some of the instructions simply don't work at all as described.
- UNRELIABLE: the camera randomly just powers down for no discernable reason. The power on sequence also does not work, you just have to fiddle with it until it eventually (somehow) starts.
- POOR BATTERY LIFE: unless constantly charging, the battery does not last long - it's just not very discreet to have a cable hanging from your ear.
- NO TILT: the camera doesn't actually tilt at all - I stopped trying for fear it would break.
- POOR RANGE OF VIEW: the "135 degree field of view" misses most of what is in my peripheral vision.
- SHAKY VIDEO: if you are moving the video stabilization isn't noticeable at all, the video will be very jumpy.
- NOISY AUDIO: despite the noise/wind cancelling claim, if there is any wind at all that is all you will hear.
- LOW QUALITY IMAGES: my old flip phone takes better pictures than these, don't even bother for images.
- POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: Zetronix did not deliver what it promised and did not (at all) make it right.
- EXTRA FEES: if you get a defective unit you will end up paying shipping PLUS an EXTRA gratuitious "restocking fee".
- DECEPTIVE REVIEWS: there are no negative reviews. Also voting for helpful (or not) responses does nothing. I added a verified review but their website will not display it.
Basically this appears to be yet another Chinese knock-off or scam, nowhere close to worth the price.
Firstly, the documentation is terrible, with important functions of the device not covered. Secondly, the website support/help is atrocious. I downloaded the manual for zShades-1080p, and In the "Setting Date and Time" section, it says to download software at http://zetronix.com/download; this is a non-secure URL, but it does redirect to https://www.zetronix.com/download. This page says: ALL OUR FILES HAVE BEEN MOVED TO: help.zetronix.com (are you kidding me?!?). The product manual for the zShades-1080p does not say how to how to: charge the device, and for how long, how to power on the device, nor how to install the Micro Card in the device. I called Tech Support, and after a LENGTHY time on hold, the technician was clueless about the device.
Even after charging the device, and connecting the device to my laptop via the USB cable, and powering on the device (I am not sure about this since the documentation doesn't say how to do this), the device does not appear in Windows Explorer. Does the MicroSD Card have to be installed in the device? I am not sure I am doing this correctly since the documentation is sorely lacking on about this.
Avoid this product and this company!
I ordered a 4k Phone Charger model I tried it and the video quality was awful. I looked into the actual data of the video and found that instead of the 3840 x 2160 pixel that is standard, the video produced is actually only recorded in 1920 x 1080 which is HD, not the 4k I paid for. What makes it even worse is that it is recorded in 1199 x 810 which is only one-third of HD resolution. This is a complete scam and the company is banking on the fact you don't know how to check resolution of the sensor that is taking the video. DO NOT BUY.
I returned a product wrongfully shipped but charged and waited over 10 days after they received it to get a 75% refund. They kept $44 of a $189 order. Terribly customer service unless you want to buy something. Then they answer their phones. Then someone called me from their "refund" department and tried to scam me. Dishonest company with plenty of dishonest people working there. Dont buy here!
I bought one of their blue tooth speaker/spy cameras with WiFi.
The WiFi quit working about two weeks after my purchase and they replaced it but not until I contacted them a 2nd time. The replacement worked for about 3 months and now the wifi stopped working again. I could live with that and just check the videos later but the camera is no longer working properly either and all recordings are corrupted and unable to view.
I wrote a negative review (I wasn't a jerk about it, just the facts) on their website and they deleted it. They charge $199.99 for this camera and in retrospect I wouldn't pay $50 for just the Bluetooth speaker because of its low volume and substandard audio quality.
Beware buying from Zetronix as the items listed on their site as "In Stock" are not necessarily in stock. They will complete your order, take your credit card, run an authorization for the sale and then send you nothing. I called a week after completing my order only to find its status was "processing" WHICH at Zetronix means that it is unshipped and out of stock. Stay away from Zetronix.
I would NOT recommend purchasing from Zetronix. Before buying an audio/video pen recorder from them, I spoke to "Israel" in customer service, asking some questions about the product. He was speaking so quietly that I could barely hear him. I asked him to speak up, but he told me that he could not speak any louder because it would disturb the other people in his home. Yes, it would disturb the other people in his home. I asked if it was more important that he deal with customers and do his job well and he said no. I suppose I should have decided then and there not to purchase, but the pen they offered had features that I could not find elsewhere. I received the pen recorder from them and it turned out to be defective. Different colored lights were supposed to indicate when the pen was charging. It did not do that. I called and spoke to Israel again who said there would still be the 15% restocking fee and that I would have to pay for my own return shipping. I repeated that I should be fully refunded and have free return shipping as the pen was not performing as it should have. It didn't matter to him. I then wrote 2 letters to Ed Shklovsky, the CEO, the first on August 17th and the second on September 13th. They have both gone unanswered to this day.
Answer: Very Hard! No return emails, calls or phone answering!
