From the business

Zacks Investment Research is one of the largest providers of independent stock, ETF and mutual fund research in the U.S. The performance of our stock research recommendations has consistently ranked among the top research firms in the U.S. by independent evaluators of equity research. This research anchors our active trading services, long-term investor services, and powerful resources and tools.

At the center of everything we do is a strong commitment to independent research and sharing its profitable discoveries with investors. In fact, helping investors find success has been the life's work of our Founder and CEO, who in 1978 armed with his PhD from MIT, hit upon a key discovery:

Earnings estimate revisions are the most powerful force impacting stock prices.

This crucial finding led to the creation of our proven Zacks Rank stock-rating system that harnesses the power of earnings estimates. Since 1988, the private Zacks #1 Rank List has more than doubled the S&P 500.

Zacks. - Well Worth It,
December 15, 2020

Zacks Ultimate has been a great help in our retirement. The choices of portfolios make it much easier to diversify risk. If you are an individual stock investor, there is no better place to be than with Zacks."

If you amortize the cost of a Zacks Ultimate Lifetime subscription over the rest of your investing life, it's an unbeatable value at just a few hundred dollars per year or less. I've found a couple of portfolio managers (managing five portfolios between them) whose aggressive growth-oriented style I love and who've made me a lot of money the last few years that I wouldn't have made on my own. And the beauty of a lifetime Zacks Ultimate subscription is that when I'm ready (i. E. retired) I can switch to following the recommendations of the income-oriented portfolio service and this won't cost me a thing.

Registered for trial yesterday and then received an email about auto-renewal after 1 month trial. Called up customer care and took 2 mins to cancel and also received confirmation email (Although I have to check at end of trial to make sure am not charged). But customer service was courteous and straight forward.

Relentless emails/harassment. This company will not leave you alone even when you ask them to be removed for their email list every day more emails they never stop. If a company can't honor their word then I definitely would not invest with them

Little value and once you are on their email list, it will never stop. I've clicked on the "unsubscribe" link many times. I've had email discussions with them where they tell me I will be removed. Yet spam email continues to roll in.

Zacks Ranks change daily/inexplicably. Regurgitated newsletters are sent out daily click bait, scam-like. Tried their service for 6 months hoping it would get better - it didn't; they weren't willing to provide a pro-rated refund for the remainder of the year. Stuck with a service I won't be using. Stay far, far away.

Wished I checked around before making the payment. ZACKS Investment Research is a dishonest website. I paid for an online course and the userid and password they provided did not work and they did not send me the book that was supposed to come with the course! Tried so many times to contact them via emails to resolve the issues and there were no replies. However, I keep getting product emails from them but my genuine problem... totally ignored! Don't believe any $1 offer or any sort... once they take your money, it will be hard to get it back! Beware!

Laughable insight
May 22, 2020

There is one stock and one ETF I have been paying a lot of attention to the last 3 years (FANG and SPXL).
Now with the coronavirus, these two stocks became very clearly insane opportunities. There was no way that it wasn't completely oversold and would go back to much much higher values quickly.
So when I saw Zacks recommend staying away from these (giving them the worst grades possible), they scared me but I decided to suck it up and believe my knowledge about these.
So what did not listening to Zacks get me? Well SPXL gave me +50% in 2 months, FANG an insane +160% in 2 months.
I don't know who called them experts, but they lied. It's not all, every single stock I've owned I realized they've always been wrong. But the example I'm showing is so over the top they lost all credibility to me.
At this point I'm using Zacks to do the exact opposite of what they recommend, and honestly, my portfolio is doing better than it would have in my wildest dreams.
Don't believe a word they say.

I recently joined and back tracked most of them and it seems like none of them meet the target price, also, when i called them they said don't trust the target price just forget about it, if it was real we all were not working here in stock market.

It is SO HARD to cancel the $#*!ing the subscription that you can't find a button to click on for you to unsubscribe. They claim the analysis are useful, but the 'report' inside the companies are just simple information that people can find in SEC website, accompany with some genetic market overview. Completely trash and try to steal your money away

How knowledgeable?
October 29, 2019

This so-called "stock research company" has revised its ratings as many as 5 times within one week on several stocks that I own. If they are at all knowledgeable about the companies that they are rating, why do they change their ratings so many times in such a short period of time? What events or trends have occurred that compel them to change their ratings so frequently? As is the case with all of these so-called "stock research" companies, they are not required to explain the actual reasons for their change in rating. I am not a subscriber and have no intention of being one. There is something very fishy here. I just looked at the other reviews here, including those of subscribers, and almost all of them are "poor". How does a company like this remain in business when they have such a terrible reputation?

I am a paid subscriber to Zacks' services. Every business day, they send a summary purporting to show the prior day's performance of the five "Top Movers" in the various portfolios they manage. Today's report of yesterday's performance looks like this:

Zacks Top Movers for Oct 24,2019
Symbol %Chg Portfolio
ALGN 14.70% HCare Innovators
SMAR 10.80% Counterstrike
QURE 8.28% HCare Innovators
TLRY 7.73% Marij Innovators
AEM 6.40% Surprise Trader
S&P 500 0.19%

Zacks selects from the hundreds of positions in their portfolios ONLY those that have advanced; they NEVER EVER show a losing position, even when the vast preponderance of their positions on some days is negative. Then they shamelessly compare their "Top Movers" on any particular day with the S&P500 Index for that day, which of course recognizes both advances and declines of all of the positions in the Index.

Zacks practice of recognizing ONLY their winning positions and totally ignoring their losing ones guarantees them a claim of superior performance -- no matter how bad their actual performance might be. In the real world, anyone who could do that would become a millionaire in short order, with no chance of bankruptcy. When I have asked (repeatedly) that they justify this kind of analysis, they stonewall.

There is more to this story, to be presented on another day.

As far as I am concerned, all of their wild claims for useful guidance in the markets is pure hogwash.
