Yogamu

I am waiting over 3 weeks for a refund from a program I purchased with Yogamu.
Customer service is an automated email with no action taken. Credit card company is now involved so hopefully refund is issued.
Poor business practices and lack of customer service.
No proof of purchase was submitted by company even if I asked for this multiple times (not providing an email with the proof of purchase is against the law). I saw the charge on my credit card so I knew the transaction went through.
Think twice before purchasing from Yogamu.

I finished passed and submitted my course, did not receive my certificate. They kept sending me an automated email about how someone would contact me... never happened!
The course was really bad too, better off watching some YouTube videos on yoga.

I joined yogamu at a really tough time in my life and it is the best thing I ever did. The yoga classes are amazing and engaging, the live meditations buzz with energy and the students group alone is worth the enrollment. I've made tons of health and personal progress as well as having doors opened that I couldn't have dreamed possible a year ago. I know that there was a rough start when they were using licensing through a middle man while waiting for certification but I only saw the tail end of that and the new content is beautiful and concise. Can't say enough good things!

The courses are great, the videos are wonderful. I have learned so much & continue to learn. I've had all of my questions & concerns answered by customer service and/or page administrators. I have no regrets about my course purchases whatsoever!

It may come off as a good deal, but please save your money. Nikolai, the "head guru", comes off as a waffling narcissist and has a lengthy history of fraud accusations being made against him in both Europe and the US. He has repeatedly reneged on promises and sold people products without delivering (he says he will deliver eventually, but it's been well over a year for several courses I purchased and I don't have much faith in his word given my experience and interactions with him over the past year). Gaslighting is rampant. This seems more like a cult than a yoga school to me, and definitely more of a certificate mill than a legitimate yoga school.

Save your money. There is no direct contact with teachers. Posts in the student group are greatly filtered to keep out anything that comes off as a complaint. Support tickets all filter to one person who is a tech support (not your teacher) and sit unanswered for weeks while you are targeted with ads to spend more and allow them to mass produce your website once they have your money for your course. How can the course be effective if you have no direct link to your teacher? Why are there no google reviews? Because the guru knows how the internet works and doesn't allow them. So much gaslighting. If you come off as negative, you're told that you obviously aren't doing your daily meditation. :/

I'm almost done with the 200hr YTT. I wish I chose a different option. The written materials have spelling errors and misinformation. The live and recorded classes also spew misinformation. Additionally, the classes do not provide alternatives for differently abled bodies and so much of the time I watched but could not participate. I supplemented the required coursework with books from reliable authors, such as physical therapists who are also yoga instructors, and videos that provide options for different bodies.

There are a ton of options for yoga schools out there and I looked long and hard through them before choosing Yogamu. I couldn't be happier. The community of students is exceptional, the material is on point and extensive, but the biggest perk is the accessibility of the courses. While some schools charge thousands for their trainings, Yogamu offers sliding scale pricing where they can, regularly puts courses on sale, and does their best to make this material available to those who seek it. It's really about how much time and effort you put into it. I've heard they had a rocky start but they're doing great now! If you need anything their support team is quick to respond. There is always another student to team up with for accountability support. Not everyone is going to love everyone at a school this big, so you just find the people you jive with and maintain those connections <3

The course is complete. A lot of theoretic material and lots of practical classes as well.
I came to the end of the program very satisfied.

Yogamu is a beautiful organization led by those who truly want to make yoga available to all in order to create positive impact in today's world. Yogamu changed my life.

Yogamu is a new platform. I hear the critics and I understand. It isn't perfect. The information is seemingly copy and paste. Some it's repetitive because how do you verbalize an experience...200 hrs are needed for certification. The goal of yogamu is to teach traditional understanding of yoga philosophy vs the American physical stretching and flow. The newness of trying to get up and running does come with shortcomings and flaws. I don't feel there are any intentions of fraud.
I believe the discontent I read send from a lack of understanding what yoga is and not being aligned. Yoga means union. Unifying mind and body through being present and being better person to yourself and those around you. It even means being influenced by what you eat. It's hard for me to compare other yoga schools as you only need one. For those complaining they just need a longer journey. Slow down... See another perspective. If youre rushed you miss many flowers
Now this is an India company which has internet connectivity issues with some live classes. And definitely some pronunciation difficulties. Again. If you're impatient maybe not for you.

Great training for what they offer, which is limited now. Lots of online live classes too through out the week.

The staff are amazing, the pricing is fair, and the courses are great! I have nothing but good things to say about this company
