I had pretty low expectations (just with online helpdesks in general), but TheKnot has EXCELLENT customer service. Everytime I had a question, someone responded via email within 20 minutes with a detailed explanation on how to do whatever I was asking. If you live in Canada, and can't do a cash registry, then they let you make a hyperlink to an alternative site! They're super helpful and everything I asked, they had a solution for. I don't usually write reviews, but I was very pleasantly surprised with The Knot.
I almost never leave bad reviews/leave reviews in general but I felt the need because if this review can save one other small business friend from wasting hundreds or thousands then it's worth it. It is honestly so messed up that this huge business takes advantage of small businesses the way they do. I have a small local home bakery and am trying to advertise towards the wedding industry more so turned to the knot/wedding wire. I was basically convinced into their lowest rate ($250 a month) by someone who worked for them who told me she had her own small business and advertised with them and it was the "best decision she's ever made." I think looking back she was lying to my face - which is so heartbreaking considering I took a huge leap of faith in saying yes - and the knot ended up taking over $3,000 from me and in return i got NO customers (lots of leads that went nowhere - which were probably fake). They also make you pay for 12 months minimum (because if you book a wedding and your spot on the website gets taken down then the client can't contact you -which doesn't even make sense because you could give them your contact info at any time) which is how you get stuck! Please please please if you are a small business don't get tricked like I did. It's a legit website but they list so many businesses on here that there's almost no chance you will get business, and will waste tons of money and time trying. Learn from my mistake- its in your best interest to stay away!

I strongly advise against engaging with this company. Unfortunately, I committed to a year with them and have been struggling to terminate the contract, even involving my bank. They are unresponsive and deceptive. Despite promises of increased business and customer engagement, my experience has been dismal. After four and a half months, I've received only three leads, despite fully optimizing my profile with maximum pictures and syncing links to my website. Despite my efforts on social media, the company failed to reciprocate. Their algorithm seems to prioritize other vendors, regardless of payment or establishment. I've spent nearly $700 by now with zero return, and their refusal to cancel the contract or take responsibility is infuriating. Talking to other vendors confirms widespread dissatisfaction. This company is solely profit-driven, providing no support and shifting blame onto clients. It's a regrettable and costly mistake to engage with them.
In total, I've only received 20 website visits, 43 profile visits and 14 people scrolling through my pictures, which is incredibly low. I get more than that with boosting one reel for few dollars.
Tip for consumers:
When you call the direct number, don't expect much assistance; it's often the only time someone picks up. My account manager has been utterly useless, taking days to respond. Even Elizabeth, who signed me up, completely ignores my emails. The main line staff are clueless, insisting you speak with your account manager, who, when they do respond, couldn't care less about your concerns. It's evident they prioritize money over customer satisfaction, leaving you feeling duped and disregarded.

I posted a review with pictures and videos of the disgusting environment that the food trucks had.
I posted a conversation thread of my boss saying to serve food to people when the trucks were destroyed had living maggots out of his food everywhere for over a week.
He ignored my concerns about people's health and safety.
I put the videos online left reviews and now he's talking to these local base companies to pull down my reviews to save his disgusting business.
Street lights LLC still stick gratuity payments for every invoice for themselves.
None of it goes to his staff at all ever. None of the payments go towards making the trucks roadworthy and safe for the employees. His staff has to steal kitchen equipment from hospitals and schools because he will not buy what they need.
They have commonly been out of dish soap for days on end rubber gloves cleaning towels.

I made a hotel reservation directly with the hotel, and mentioned the wedding block. This put me in touch with THEKNOT.com Powered by HotelPlanner.com. HotelPlanner.com claimed they were Expedia. When pressed, they say they work with Expedia (and many many other 3rd parties). You won't get your money back. Suggest you go elsewhere and not take a chance on THEKNOT.com Powered by HotelPlanner.com (wedding people need to know this).
I tried to book a hotel for a wedding in Orlando using theknot.com. The venue was full so I was going to hang up and book somewhere else. The agent at theknot said she was able to book my second choice for me at The Doubletree, so I let her. Three months out, I tried to cancel as my plans changed. They told me if I cancelled I would still be responsible for one night room rental (several hundred dollars) I thought I was calling the hotel directly, but it was actually theknot I was talking to. We begrudgingly made the plans work, however I mentioned it when checking in at the Doubletree and they said I would have been able to cancel my room through them - it was the "third party" that wouldn't let me cancel. I think that is terrible! The rep never gave me that information. I'll never make that mistake again.
This site is dangerous to any vendor, especially the ones that they are aimed to service. I am actually in the middle of starting legal action against them for unauthorized transactions. The original rep lied about their contract policies. After he had me signed up, he was no longer my account manager. He promissed a 3 month trial, but he disappeared after that my new account manager said that I was lying. Finally I said never again, but I will finish out my year contract. After paying for a year of bad leads, my 4th or 5th account manager talked very nice, but done the same thing. I sent an email to cancel before the 5 day policy, before my anniversary date, but they started another year contract without my consent. I have the email from the account manager saying that they cancelled my account, in writing. They have already taken 1 unauthorized payment and when I try to call my account manager, she hits the refuse call button. Finally I had to file fraud on them through my financial institute and had to block them.
Summary:
Leads seem fake from no conversion rate
Customer service does not exist after they get a contract
Honesty is not something they offer
Takes unauthorized payments/Theft
Tells you you're wrong
Site is a little buggy, hard to reply to a lead through their website
Reps are very shady in so many ways

If you are a vendor who is just starting out, or cannot fully commit to it as a job, do not join this site. Unfortunately the site does not help you connect well if you do not have enough to show for it and look like the more established vendors. This site's salepeople will try to make you feel like they will help get you as many hits as possible, but once you're signed up, you're abandoned. I tried to join to make side money as a DJ, and I was assured I would make back my deposit in no time. That hasn't happened. When I tried to explain that I needed to get out of my subscription agreement because I was facing financial hardship, they didn't care. Absolutely do not join this site if you can't appear like a fully legit service.
I've been advertising on The Knot off and on since 2012. I decided to stop advertising with them when my contract was done in November '23 and sent an email to the person that was supposed to my contact in case I had questions about my renewal. Well they never got back to me so I sent along a couple of other emails as reminders.
Still crickets and then my card got charged for December's payment so I disputed it with PayPal. Now that $$$ was involved, surprise, surprise, I get someone to reach out to me and because they did ZERO research, they had the nerve to approach me by threatening to send my account to a collection agency.
After I calmly explained that I'd tried to cancel the account weeks ago with no response, she initially acquiesced and told me they'd take care of it. After a day or two I get an email (unbelievably) that since I reached out 4 business days vs. 5 business days before the deadline to cancel, no matter how ridiculous the customer service was I wouldn't be getting a refund.
A BILLION dollar company somehow needed my $125 payment for December. They always had an excuse stating "policy" and kept asking me if I had any documentation prior to what I'd already sent so they could "help me out." It was so tawdry and petty and to top it all off, they COMPLETELY removed any trace of me from their site (10 days before the end of the month mind you so the pymt actually turned into a penalty). No, I couldn't just slide into the unpaid ad category of the vendor page, I had to be wiped from the site as a further penalty for challenging them.
I worked in corporate for nearly 20 years and if I'd inconvenienced a client to this extent, it would have been a no brainer to make sure I accommodated them on this. But nope, not The Knot. Just completely unprofessional and ALL these other 1 star reviews confirm that my experience was in no way an isolated incident.
Keep your money. The Knot is just another website in 2024 with just a little more credibility since they started so early but the wedding market is WAY more saturated with options now and those companies are likely not as full of themselves as this one is... Its just a robotic factory now. Thanks for reading...
Please don't waist your time with this company, if you are trying to do business with them. They lock you in for one year, you don't see your money back ever! It's a bunch of brides sending request to a bunch of different business owners. It's rare you will get hired. Market your business somewhere else that's worth it.
Wish I could give them a zero!
Worse platform.
Do not do it! Absolutely the worst company to deal with. I have been trying to cancel my subscription and have called 5 times and left a message and have emailed at least 5 with no response. Waste of money and time

Great resource for their planning checklist and website builder, HOWEVER, I would NEVER recommend using knot to order your Save the Dates, Invitations, etc. Right before you press "Submit my order", there is a "have a designer contact me" box and if you do not check this box, they claim to not touch your design and print it as is. This stupid little checkbox is fake news - they moved my text without approval. Fast forward - I got contacted by a designer, we went back and fourth, they claimed that I was the confused one (rude) and that what they have is "practically identical" to what I was asking for (rude and also untrue). Is it too much to ask to just print what I stinkin ordered? If you care what your paper orders look like, go somewhere else.
The Wedding Knot & The Wedding Wire are the very worst. Total waste of money and you will regret your decision.
You cannot - I replete CANNOT trust the review on The Knot website. I recently reviewed my wedding photographer on their site. Shortly thereafter my review was disputed by the photographer and the review was taken down. It took about three weeks to get it back up after an extremely vigorous verification process. While I appreciate that they want review to be authentic, what I've learned from this experience is that you cannot trust the ratio of good to negative review on their site considering how easy it was for my "negative" review to be taken down and how difficult it was to get it put back up. I imagine whenever a vendor doesn't like a review (say, anything under 4 stars) they likely dispute it and cross their fingers that the reviewer is too lazy to go though the never ending process to ensure the reviews authenticity.
Take your money and never hear from them again. There attitude changes once they know that you gave into the rubbish they try to sell you. Paid them whatever they wanted. After 2 weeks still didn't have anything. I am a reasonable vendor and know that not everyone will always want to book us... BUT I also know that we are good and no way not 1 even called us.
Don't Count on the not to accurately reflect your registries. It's cute for introducing your wedding party and giving your story. But add your own registry card to your invitations. This site kept dropping major department stores from the registry
Tip for consumers:
Add your registry on a separate slip to put in the invitations, The Knot has reversed my link twice to PB and WS two of my major registry’s. Super frustrating
There's an apparently an issue with my bank account, they allegedly can't send our cash gift for some reason, and we can't edit it without contacting customer support.
When attempted to contact them to resolve the supposed issue, she insulted my intelligence by assuming I didn't catch their email instead of resolving it. Horrible and concerning. Don't set up cash gifts on their site, you can't edit your bank account without contacting someone and being met with rudeness.
I booked a Hotel through The Knot and it gave me the incorrect pricing, then would not cancel/refund the charges.
My experience with ordering invitations with The Knot has been horrible. They lack in communication and the Ability to help customers. Their lack of follow up on important life events is unacceptable. Still have not heard from them about my invitations and event is nearing although I do get a ton of advertisement mail from them now I have yet to be contacted via email or phone.
Tip for consumers:
I would not recommend this company, The Knot

Hi Song,
Thank you for leaving a review! We apologize for the issues you are experiencing. Please contact our Support team at help@theknot.com or 1-877-843-5668.
Worst decision I ever made.leads are all fake and they just give false hope. You are locked in for 1 year and cannot get out. ALL FALE LEADS AND CALL CABO NUMBER IS NOT REAL….STAY AWAY
I ordered 70 decks and playing cards for a family reunion. It's hard to tell how good a playing card is going to be but it said plastic coated so I kept my fingers crossed. Put on receiving the cards I find that they are not only on the small side but the card stock is very VERY flimsy. My reunion happens on the beach and I doubt these will make it through the week. Very very disappointed in the quality although the graphics turned out fine if you want real playing cards, get them somewhere else.

If you'd like to get in touch with Support, please contact help@theknot.com or 1-877-843-5668.
Anyone can RSVP on anyone else's behalf. The only thing they need to know is the full or partial name of any other guest.
Also any guest can see who else is invited and who is not:-(
In a 1 year period, I spoke to 17... YES 17!... different employees assigned to my account. They clearly can't keep employees and have a huge turnover rate. Each new person has NO IDEA what the last person did. I have owned businesses for a decade now, and this was BY FAR the most unorganized and untrained company and employees I have ever dealt with. Even them offering FREE months, I still left! Terrible!
Tip for consumers:
I do NOT recommend anyone using it!

Attempted to book a hotel through The Knot. Looked like a very professional looking website. That's where the professionalism ends. The site automatically plugs in the dates around the wedding venue. I did not need those dates, so I adjusted them for 1 night. Somewhere along the booking process, the dates were changed back. I had already clicked the book button before I caught the error. I called their support to help me with the issue. The first person I spoke to said they would escalate the issue to resolve it. The next thing I know I receive a cancellation notice. I had asked the first person I spoke to if would be easier to just cancel and re-book, he said there would be cancellation charges if I did that. So I was already pretty unhappy to hear that. Every other booking site gives you 24hrs to cancel no questions asked. Once I received the cancellation, I knew I was going to have a long drawn out problem. The second person I spoke to was no help at all, would not connect me with a manager, offered me a voucher but could not tell me how much it would be for, just wasted my time. Before ending the call I informed them I needed to hear back from their management in 24hrs or I would be calling my credit card company and issuing a charge back. Nothing. Keep in mind, I did not asked for my booking to be cancelled, I just needed the date changed, they cancelled it. What an awful start to what should be a great trip for a very happy occasion.

This website calls itself "The Knot Worldwide"We recently tried to contribute to a honeymoon fund here only to find they will only accept credit cards from a US bank with a USA billing address. How is that a world wide service? Families are often spread across the globe.
Caused such a hassle trying to get funds to the happy couple before their special day.

Really bad customer service, I ordered guest signing book for my niece's wedding. I got it with 2 different names the sample name on the front and my niece's name on the side! I requested them to reprint it but they just offered do it for 40% off. Why would I pay anything? I paid full price the first time. And I never got any proof to approve. Once I changed the name it should have done on both the sides. Who wants a book with 2 different names.
Everything you need to plan your wedding, literally! Wedding dresses, planning tools, wedding ideas, inspiration, photos, plus the best wedding vendors.
I would love to look at this with you a bit more. PB and WS are one company and while we are partnered with them we don't always have access to the updates they are sending, which may include pulling a registry down. Happy to help though! registryhelp@theknot.com, Attn: Keri - Let me take a look along with you.
