This site preys on unsuspecting consumers seeking to reduce their cable costs by buying their own modems. The company treats their customers with complete disdain. I received a cable box that was incompatible with my carrier's cable cards and cannot get a refund (even though I returned the unit at my expense)! Jay does not return phone calls and ignores emails. Boycott this firm!
I bought three boxes. Told me something was wrong with their cc machine and if I needed the boxes quicker to wire the money. I got the boxes, they don't work. I have called and emailed him over 20 times the last 4 months. No returned call or email. I then sent a email to the editor of Forbes who wrote the article on them and told him what happened. I got no rep side also. So I am also concerned with the amount of quality of information thy now comes from Forbes articles!
Lots of names for businesses. Thornton Cable, http://cableboxandmodem.com/. Lots of talk up front, once they have your check it gets real quiet. When you call receptionist, Nicole, always has to check with her manager. Stay away from them. I wish I'd seen this before ordering. Denver Better Business Bureau has given them a "F" rating and they have been reported to the Fraud Division of the Colorado Attorney General.
Jay Bianchini tells you to do an electronic check to him. My boxes also didn't work and he won't return phone calls or emails. It's been over a month and still no refund. He is a crook that needs to be put behind bars.
The after sales service from HD DVR TV (Broadway TV) really sucks. You always go to the answering/message taking service and no one ever calls back. My order from 21 October is still not active and getting to the 30 days I have to return if unsatisfied - but you have no one to discuss the rerun process with. Any idea how this company works? Am really tired of calling every day and getting no joy!
I only got one box now two months later and my second box, new cable card is does not work. I did activate my cable card but box is not working called Jay no answer left two voice mails and emails. Be warned He will screw you and take your money don't trust him
This business is closed for good per the Colorado Courts and Attorney General. No Amazon store fronts, no online web sites etc. If you see anything from any of his many scam sites please report it to the Colorado Attorney Generals office
Update, HD DVR TV, Jay and crew are being prosecuted for fraud by the Colorado Attorney General. What goes around comes around. They will get theirs in the end.
I bought 2 hd cable boxes and 2 DVR HD boxes from them. They gave me an additional 10% off for paying by check. They sent two boxes that did not work. I have returned them per their instructions and RMA form. I have been waiting since 11/17/14 for my money. They do not return my calls or emails. I have notified the Co Attorney General, Denver Police but it is just not worth flying and hiring a lawyer. They also go by another web site HDDVRS.com. They have an 800 number that is the same for both Web sites, 800-512-9171. They also have another name Broadway TV. They also have another name and address: Online Cable Boxes as well as Broadway TV and both are at address: 303 S Broadway STE 200-495, Denver, CO 80209. Don't be fooled, this is a UPS Store not a business. I would love to check the box below so they could see this but you can only email them from their websites. The RMA form from them to return equipment came from email address HDDVRTV@yahoo.com. They are frauds, cheats and thieves.
I too fell for the scam. Jay promised that Concast had to drop all charges for the cable card rentals. Comcast refuses to do that and now Jay will not return calls. Guess it's time to call my credit card company to see if there is anything that they can to help.
I ordered 2 boxes but only received 1 and that took 3 weeks to get here. Comcast wouldn't activate the cable card so after a week of trying with Jay to get it activated I got an RMA from Jay and sent it back. It was delivered back to them a week ago and now nothing but crickets. I can't get a response from anyone there and I'm pretty sure I can kids my money goodbye.
I ordered two DVRs from Jay in 2014. Even back then Jay was saying his cc machine is not set up, send a check. I was enough stupid to do it... $450 wasted.
Like most cable systems, Cox refused to activate the the DVRs, regardless of what Jay says they should do. I spent hours and hours with Cox, talked to Jay a few times back when he still answered the phone. The DVR function never worked. Soon, one DVR wouldnt even boot up at all, Jay said send it back and hed replace it. That is the last I time I ever heard from him.
So I wasted $450 for 2 useless DVRs. Neither ever worked on my cable system. One DVR was sent back when it broke, and I never got a replacement or refund. This is a GIANT SCAM Jay has been running for years. Beware and stay away. He will steal your money.
Jay as he goes by is a skilled rip off artist. Boxes are not 100% compatible and features like DVR, on demand and search wont work as promised. When you return the box you wont get a return either. He is all BS. Oh and dont pay by check! He will say that they are having problems with the credit card system ect and talk you into using a check. That should have been a flag to me. There are lots of complaints against them. Contact the BBB, and Internet crime center.gov and Federal Trade commission (FTC) if you are a victim. We need to shut them down! Once I found out that they sell on Amazon, I contacted Amazon customer service and filed a complaint there.

I read the Forbes article. I bought 3 boxes from HDDVRTV.com. They spent 30 minutes on the phone helping me understand what I needed to know. The boxes arrived in a timely manner but without the HDMI cables. They promise to send those separately. Midcontinent Cable provided the cablecards. One quick call to Midcontinent Cable got the cablecards activated. Everything seems to be working fine. HDDVRTV.com can be difficult to contact and their post-sales support is lacking but I now own 3 set-top boxes for a lot less than having to rent and A LOT less than TiVo.
I ordered my cable box from Jay on 10/16/2015. He was very responsive in returning my call from the answering service you get when dialing the 800# on one of his multiple websites because it was a chance for a sale. They charged my credit card for the Samsung box I ordered on 10/22/2015. I received a notification that my box was shipping on 10/29/2015 from Broadway TV with an ETA of 11/3/2015. However FedEx said that the package never actually shipped, they just received the label info. Left numerous messages for Jay..., finally caught him one day and he apologized and said he would send out a replacement box. Still nothing, not even a new tracking#. I have left several voicemails and emails inquiring as to where my order is. No response. They even forwarded Jay's phone number to my home phone. Big mistake, because I have been telling everyone who calls what a scam this is. Disputed the charge on my credit card today and have been purchasing Samsung boxes on Amazon that I have activated myself with my cable company, no problems. I am disappointed that Forbes magazine actually wrote an article recommending these guys as a way to save money off your cable bill. That is what made me try them. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from Jay!
I ALSO MADE THE MISTAKE OF DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE. I RELIED ON THEIR ADVICE, THEY SENT ME THE WRONG PRODUCT, AND THEN WHEN I RETURNED IT THEY KEPT IT AND REFUSED TO REFUND ME. THEY TRULY CARE NOTHING ABOUT THE PAIN THEY CAUSE. THEY RIPPED ME OFF FOR A TOTAL OF $180.00.
If you need to contact jeff davis owner *******240.

The name keeps changing to stop an audit trail. JAM owns finally free tv, just about saving money and now hd dvr tv. All using ups stores for addresses.
The BBB in denver has over 168 posted complaints and ripoff sites has a total of well over 300 more
I had pretty much the same experience as Paul G, I bought 4 boxes and a modem. Jay told me it would take 2 weeks to get the boxes. I got them in 3 weeks (only after calling about it), however, the eqpt. Cannot be used. Cox won't allow us to add them to our account and the help that Jay touted they would provide in getting the boxes added on our Cox acct. Was a lie. I should have paid by credit card. Don't be lured by the 10% savings. Also, the modem they sent me is same story as boxes. Jay said to send a request for a RMA but they never responded by email or phone. Jay doesn't answer his phone and the main number rings w/ no answer. Now I have $688. Of useless equipment.
Yep. I fell for the scam too. Paid $150 by electronic check for a nonworking box. I just cannot believe how long this is going on for. I never thought to check the reviews.
This is the sloppiest business I have ever dealt with. Did I get the 3 HDMI cables they promised? No. Do they respond to emails? No. Are they nearly impossible to reach by phone? Yes.
They stole my money too. Promised me that the cable box would work. It didn't. They refused to give me a refund.
I too read the Forbes article and ordered 3 boxes online on 11/12/15. Jay called me and said he could save me more money. My original order was for 3 pace boxes at about $520. He said i could get Motorola boxes that were larger but had DVRs in them. So I changed and got the Motorola boxes and 1 Pace box for $450.00. We found that Comcast acted ignorant of the FCC rules and never would activate these boxes from HDDVRTV.COM. We got 2 cable cards from Comcast 1 of which worked in the Pace box. 1 worked in one of the Motorolla boxes (after 3 trys from Comcast). No fault necessarily from HDDVR on that point. The true frauds and cheats are Comcast reps. They kept telling us the equipment we bought from HDDVRTV was not in their system. Well of course not. We bought it. The Comcast reps would say that we needed to "take the boxes in'" to our nearest Comcast service place. Luckily we do have one within reasonable distance to our home. Comcast was never helpful on getting these to work. We tried 3 sets of cable cards from Comcast before we found 2 that worked in the devices. We returned the boxes because the DVRs WOULD NOT RECORD anything. We got a return authorization in early December and spent $53.07 to ship back via Fedex. Fedex treacking says it arrived and was signed for however we never got a refund. Update as of 2/3/16, I am out $129.57. Broadway TV (as their invoices call them) refunded me $373.50 of my $450.00 I originally spent on the merchandise returned. The rest was kept for a restocking fee. At least I have something. IF you add the $129.57 to the $373.50 you get the total I spent.
