Been using this site for over 15 years. 3-10 forecasts are very inaccurate. It is obvious this site posts extreme 10 day forecasts to gain views in return for advertiser money
WU used to be great - I would be embarrassed to work for a site that saw no importance in quality or service. What used to work does not work anymore including the people! Customer service is non-existent. Put yourself and us out of your misery. - just close the doors - OR get off your A**** and do something - It was the people at WU that make it was it is (and what it is now) Shame on you!
Anyone giving this site a rating over 1 star has to be in a state where recreational pot is legal and they are imbibing. Apparently time has no meaning to them. This site reminds me of 2.4k modems--"Click" and come back in a few hours for your results. Welcome back to the PC stone age.
My station has been sending data for several years, and it still is. However, 'they' have deleted my email address so I cannot login. I have sent them multiple emails over the past two weeks... NONE have been answered, nor has the problem been fixed.
I will wait a few more days then I am going to stop sending my station data to them. I am currently sending to AMBIENT WEATHER, they store my data and it is accessible.
I would think IBM would step up and say do fix this... pretty bad publicity for their IBM
CLOUD platform...
I might add. I am a paying customer, subscription ends in OCT 2019... so I think they are in a breach of contract situation!
This used to be my defacto go-to site, and app, for weather information. But ever since it was sold to IBM it has gone downhill. The app is now next to useless, often incorrect and the weather information on the site, which used to be the best and most accurate, is now wrong more often than it's correct.
The app is slow, freezes constantly, and updates are problematic. The widgets for android used to be the best, hands down, now they're all gone except an ugly icon style one.
I've switched to accuweather
I live in Florida and it's very hard to forecast rain in the summer as it is so widespread sometimes. This site used to be spot-on with it's forecasts and tropical weather tracking. Now, It will show rain chance of 80% for the afternoon, but when you look at 8:00 p.m., and it hasn't rained, it will change the forecast to whatever has happened (if it hasn't rained, it will drop the chance to 20%, an aftcast?). There is no place to comment on the site. To me, it's all a big ad for global warming. It's awful!
Map isn't displaying, 10-day forecast returns nothing, hourly forecasts work only for the current day. You used to be able to click on a given day and get hourly forecast for that day, and now none of that works.
Too bad: this used to be a great site. I see from the comments below that I am not alone in missing the old site.
What used to be a comprehensive, incredibly useful and user friendly website is now lost somewhere, seemingly without a plan to do anything about it.
Four stars is how I used to feel about Weather Underground.
Now it's just the one star. I hope that it can soon return to the four it then deserved.
I've used weather underground on my phone for years, but now that they have changed their site I hate it! It is not user friendly, and it's so slow! Why did you change it if it was so great? If it ain't broke don't fix it! I hope they read these reviews and change it back.
Look, just read the rest of the reviews to sum it up. As soon as TWC purchased them it has went downhill. It is just garbage now. I am sure soon will come the day when they shut down the uploading of of weather data from those of us who have weather stations that are sending them data.
I have been a member for over a decade and a half and to see it become what it has today is sad really.
Occasionally, I checked out various weather sites, Intellicast, Accuweather, WU, etc. However, Intellicast was my go to site. It gave forecasts in various ways. My favorite was the graph that showed various weather data on both a long term and a daily basis. WU, gets it and takes away the daily graph. I also think WU depends too much on the local (i. E. personal weather stations). I know Bob is a good guy but I just do not trust his weather data. Another thing is that all of the city and town locations that Intellicast had went away when WU took over Intellicast. WU still hasn't reincorporated all of these sites. So unless Bob or one of his friends has a personal station where you want local data, you are out of luck. I could go on and on but why bother. I'll just go to Accuweather because I at least feel it's honest if not always good.
I take issue with the executives at IBM/Weather INC whatever, treating us old Intellicast adherents like we are indiscriminate imbeciles, "ohhh, same maps only better? OK!" That is a lie. It is a lie.
Now that Weather Channel has the reigns it has gotten really bad. Nothing to add that others have not already stated, other than my weather station used to update the main page. That feature has not worked in months. Everything used to be on one page and now you have to click different tabs to see the data. Plus, now the mobile apps are starting to be slow. WU was my go to, but now I'm searching for other sites. Weather Channel will not be one of them...
You can tell that children are writing the code for Weather Underground. The site is a disaster. Impossible to navigate and stingy with its data. Visuals are anemic compared to the wonderful intellicast frames.
Cannot login any more. Email address unknown, password recovery fails (email unknown), contact form not usable (returns error), emails not answered.
FTP camera image upload via GSM module fails most of the time.
I quit using the service.
I have had 3 Samsung phones and the widget from Weather Underground has never worked on any of those phones. I have reported the issue dozens of times to their support and they do nothing about it, if they respond at all. It's amazing how long this has been going on and how they have done nothing to address it.
Use to be able to search around quickly and open to your location automatically.
Now I can't even save my settings in radar maps. Severe weather approaches and by the time you open your own page, the sun is shining and the weather has past!
This app and website get worse everyday. It seems a group on clueless middle school students are running the show there - if only something could put them out of their misery.
I live in Mexico and always used wunderground for daily, 10 day forecasts, storm warnings, etc. The new website is horrible. Gives very little info. Why did you take something good and make it basically unuseable?
I can no longer access the 10 day forecast and the Contact Us page doesn't work, just blips out to a blank page. I used to rely on this site for my every day forecast, guess I will have to look elsewhere. Thank you for the months of 10 day forecasts that no longer are accessible.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
