Absolutely love WOB for choice and price! I buy 'used' books which saves me money, but, and here's the thing... the books are all in excellent 'as new' condition. The best of both worlds in my opinion.
I first read this book when I received it as a school prize in 1959. I was 8 years old. I still have that copy. I bought a copy from World of Books to give to a 7 year old granddaughter. The copy I received arrived promptly. It looks like new and is now wrapped in red Christmas paper, ready to be opened on Christmas morning. I hope she enjoys it as much as I did.
Service from world of Books is good but i wish that they would put "Do Not Bend" on their postage bags. I had bought a used but in very good condition book off them only for the Post Office to fold it double & leave it part way through my letter box resulting in a crease being put in the rear cover. I wish i had the presence of mind to take a photograph but instead i removed it as quick as possible hoping that it hadn't damaged my book. Luckily the crease isn't too bad but it could have been so much worse.

I ordered 2 books labelled very good condition - they were like new.
Given that I ordered over a weekend they arrived almost next day.
This was helped because they were sent via the post (rural house that alternative deliverers usually have trouble finding)

Needed some maps for an upcoming trip yo the Lake District. Saw no point in buying new ones, since use would be limited. Great selection and really good prices. Two maps duly arrived in a couple of days, normal for WOB. Both in really good condition and about to be pressed into action. Great all round service.

I have been using WOB for some time time now both for used books and collectable DVDs. They are always excellent value for money and in good condition (I've never had a faulty or poor quality item). Delivery is always prompt and the items well packed. I would recommend them unreservedly.

I had purchased a book from them earlier in the year, described as Very Good and it was, no burred edges or creases and bright white pages, it looked almost like New.
So I was encouraged to 'go again' and more recently bought another one similarly described (all the books of the title I was after were described as Very Good) but that came with the pages very browned, with lots of the text underlined and highlighted.
It was quite easy to contact WoB to raise this and told them it was only fit for the bin (really...I could not take to a charity bookshop)...see photos. They did resolve it quite well & quickly in that another one in much better condition soon arrived (although I still would barely call it very good, with pages browning) so this has now made me wary of ordering from them again.

Have always used WOB as my first choice for books. Unfortunately my experience of them this year has been dismal and I will no longer use them. Of the four books I bought this year;
- 1 was received with scribbles all over it despite being described as in very good condition
- 1 took 11 days to arrive despite being described as being in stock at the time of ordering
- 1 I paid £19 for but when it was received it had a £3 charity shop sticker on it!
Photo is just one example of what WoB regard as Very Good Condition. If this was an isolated case then I could accept but it is not. Even the less damaged books would not qualify for Very Good Condition.
The packaging is a plastic wrap which offers no protection to the books.

Order this book a few weeks ago. It arrived today and after using it for only a few minutes, noted a must smell and felt sick. After an hour, the musty smell permeated my house and so I tossed it in the garbage. What a waste of time and money.

In the last couple of months I have ordered several lots of books from WoB.
The prices were good, postage is free, delivery quick and there are often discounts available for multi-buy. The quality of the books as described are, to me usually conservative with those coming under a 'very good' umbrella often like new.
All in all it is difficult to fault WoB and I shall certainly use them again. My partner Jean and I are both in our seventies and avid readers over a number of genres. WoB gives us the opportunity to purchase our books at a reasonable price without the hassle and expense of trawling the large book shops.

I have bought several books off these sellers on eBay and would rank them one of the top 3 worst sellers I have ever had to deal with. They sell junk books which never match their listings with the hope that a percentage of their buyers won't return the books. It is a scam... plain and simple.
I love World of Books. It is such a wonderful concept & organisation and I buy all my books from there. The quality is fantastic and you could never find it cheaper.
Plus I love that I am 'reusing a read', which has been enjoyed or hated many times before me.
My only hope is they start doing gift vouchers as they would make wondeful gifts.

Very disappointed after ordering a book from WOB. I bought it as it advertised as 'very good' condition. It was really bad with significant writing throughout. In addition it still had that it cost them (I am assuming) £6... yet they still charged me £30+. They offered a 50% refund (which means they still made a good profit) but also argued that 'very good' was still met as markings were not covered. Buyer beware!

I ordered a book on August 7,2021. Didn't receive it, wrote to the company on the 18th, received a response that it should arrive within ten days of ordering. Ok it had already been 11 days. It's now the 20th, no book and tracking shows nothing coming anytime soon, or ever. I needed this book by Today for a birthday. I'll have to buy something else. Would not recommend ordering from this company.

My family waited weeks for a game that never arrived. They gave us no tracking number, which is an ineffective setup. They claimed the game we ordered was sold out and to order one of a similar value. I ordered two that combined would have been worth the game WOB failed to deliver. I was told I had to choose one. Were they thinking they would just keep the rest of my money!?! I told them give me a full refund. They deserve negative stars. They promised a game they have zero evidence was ever sent. They failed 100% to deliver the game. I still don't have my refund. They spent so long playing games, the game is sold out everywhere.

This is a wonderful resource for getting preloved books conveniently and at a great price. There's so much choice and I always find what I'm looking for. It's dangerous because I keep buying so many books, but they make me really happy. Also, the company has some really solid morals and principles and are doing great things, so I feel good about supporting them. It can be hard to find companies I really feel good buying from nowadays but I'm in love with Wob.

I like world of books because it is possible to buy books that are no longer being published. They are reasonably priced and arrive very quickly. I have received one book that wasn't what I would consider to be ‘very good' condition but at least it didn't smell musty! Overall, I think it's a good service and good for the environment too.
