The overall reputation of the company reveals a significant divide in customer experiences. While some customers report prompt and effective service when addressing appliance issues, many express frustration over product reliability and prolonged service delays. Common complaints include unresponsive customer support, difficulties in scheduling repairs, and dissatisfaction with the quality and durability of appliances. A notable trend is the perception of a lack of accountability, with customers feeling abandoned after purchases. This feedback suggests a pressing need for the company to enhance its customer service practices and improve the reliability of its products to regain consumer trust.

Ordered a panel ready dishwasher. Took 4 weeks to arrive. Installed it and there was no power.Called a electrician to check the wiring(paid him a service fee of $110)Nothing wrong with wiring. There was power to the dishwasher.Called customer service.Tech took one week to come.He advised the mother board needs to be replaced.Note this is a brand new dishwasher.Spoke to customer service again and the wouldn't replace dishwasher only the part.I asked for a warranty extension only got an extra year.Part is being ordered and will take 14 days to arrive.Customer Service is absolutely ridiculous. On a side note it took a day for customer service rep to call me back. It's so hard to get thru to anyone.
On June 19th, 2024, I called Whirlpool because my new refrigerator completely stopped working. They said that the warranty period had expired. Nevertheless, the specific model of fridge I bought was reported as having serious problems. In other words, the fridge was defective from the beginning. Whirlpool said that they would send a repairman on June 24th. I told them that five days was a long time to go without a fridge, but I agreed. When the repairman came on June 24th, he informed me that he did not bring the necessary parts and would need to order them. He returned on June 27th (eight days after my original call). After three hours of work on the 27th, the repairman declared that the fridge was repaired. However, a few hours after he left, I realized he had lied to me. The fridge still had no cooling capacity. I called Whirlpool back. They scheduled yet another repairman for July 10th. They told me that if this repairman did not fix the fridge, I would very likely get a new fridge. The new repairman came on July 10th, but he also failed to repair the fridge. I have been without a fridge for three weeks. I called Whirlpool to complain. You won't believe what the lady I talked to said. She said that she would give me a 30% discount on a new Whirlpool fridge to compensate me for my trouble. After putting me through hell for three weeks, this horrid company did not even have the decency to offer me a new fridge. Whirlpool is a horrible company that does not care about its customers: horrible products, horrible people, and horrible customer service. I am seriously contemplating hiring a lawyer for the emotional distress I endured as a result of this experience. It's not about money anymore. It's about justice. Expect a YouTube video very soon. I'm also going to contact the CBC to see if they will interview me about this experience with Whirlpool.
We bought a new refrigerator and it arrived DOA, it lit up but didn't cool. After calls to the store where we bought it and then to Whirlpool "customer care" (a joke on it's own), a technician came. He said that some wiring was reversed at the factory and was able to get it working. We asked if we could change direction of the door and he said a tool was supposed to be included with the fridge but he couldn't find it. He said he would order it and then we could easily do it ourselves. Fast forward 2 months and on a call with Whirlpool once again they said there is no note of that request and that this was an extra part to order. Sorry and too bad.
While the dishwasher was under warranty called them to have someone to come and do the repair. Spend half a day on the phone trying to schedule the appointment and was a huge pain. After the repair was done, when I finally came home turned out that the installer did not instal the bottom arm properly and the heating element melted it. Called them to have this fixed since they butchered the last repair and now they want me to pay out of pocket for their mistake. Last time going with whirlpool. Very upset.

We purchased a Whirlpool bottom mount fridge on Jan 6/22. Rec'd fridge July/22. Fridge didn't work. Rec'd 2nd fridge Aug/22. Freezer door was damaged...was replaced.
Dec 31/23. Fridge stops working. Jan 3/24. Tech says fridge not repairable. Customer service..."sorry, nothing we can do." So, we're out $2000 in less than 18mos. That will be the last Whirlpool product we purchase!

I PURCHASED A WALL OVEN 2 YEARS AGO, I USED THE SELF CLEAN OPTION AND MY WHOLE OVEN IS DEAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I WROTE A REVIEW AND KELLY WAS NICE ENOUGH TO SAY PLEASE CONTACT THEM WITH NO WAY TO CONTACT HER! I HAVE TRIED CALLING AND JUST KEEP GETTING PUT ON HOLD
NEVER EVER HAVE I SEEN SUCH BRUTAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I purchased a whirlpool washing machine with warranty. The washing machine broke down after two years and needed a new circuit board and main board. It took over 2 months for a technician to service the unit. Within those two months I had two service calls scheduled. Both times the technician did not show up or call. I spent $300 on the warranty and another $600 on laundry services. They did not care to reimburse me.
Horrible products and service, stay away!
My dishwasher had an issue about 5 months in and when I called whirlpool they sent a technician in pretty fast. It took about an hour for him to figure out what was wrong and install a new part. He had what he needed in his car already. It works great again. Turns out it was a burnt out motor. I am very happy with the service I got. Thank you.
11 months after the purchase of our new fridge it gave up on us. It's been 5 months now and after multiple calls to the customer care Whirlpool still have not repair our unit.
Worst experience ever!
My stove broken in 5 months of using, cannot get nobody from service!
Don't pick up phones, no responses by mail...
In mid-year 2021 we purchased two Whirlpool refrigerators, models WSR57R18DM03. These are full stainless appliances, no freezer. The first one broke down about 6 weeks ago; we were told it would cost us around double the cost of the frig to repair it. The failure was catastrophic but undaunted, we moved on to find a replacement and decided to invest more heavily in something that might not fail as quickly. This week, the second refrigerator died. Whirlpool was called and today the technician had the same response - not worth fixing. It is apparent to us that the company is deliberately building equipment with an expected lifespan of less than 3 years. Not good enough.
ON SEPT 9. My dishwasher broke. The waranty is good untill october 24. The repair man after 3 visits was unable to repair the dishwasher.
The repair man ordered a part and after 14 days no one at WIrlpool can say when the part will arrive even though the part was expedited. This is poor management of a service department. The company is not working a part can be gotten over night by Ups or. Fedex. The part can be pulled from a factory unit or from a manufacture supply. This lack of management skills is a major
Problem.
I have a 4 year old Whirlpool dishwasher that developed a leak from the bottom last Thursday. Phoned Whirlpool Canada on their 1-800 number and made an appointment with the phone operator for a tech to come out on Monday between 8 AM to 4 PM. By 3 PM on Monday, no one showed up. Phoned the Whirlpool 1-800 number again and was assured a tech was booked and would come. By 4:30 PM no one showed up & Whirlpool had shut down their 1-800 phone for the Night. On Tuesday morning phoned Whirlpool and this time I was told there was no record of the service appointment. Booked another appointment for Thursday using the Whirlpool website for 8 AM to 4 PM, and you guessed it, another no show and no way to find out what happened by phoning after 4 PM. Called another company in Edmonton who answered the phone right away and sent out a tech that night to fix the dishwasher. Whirlpool is hard to reach, hard to book a service appointment with, never shows up & is a complete waste of my time. Wish I could leave a zero rating.
I purchased a washer from whirlpool 14 months ago making banging noise no matter how many times we leveled has never worked right it made really loud thumping and and was moving across the floor would never recommend whirl pool appliances to anyone this was the second machine i bought in 2 years i will never buy anything from that company again just had to get a new washer again not a whirlpool buyer beware they are junk
Wife died and then I had to buy new washer so I picked the one with removable agitator thinking I would cover all needs. Previous machine was also a Whirlpool bought in 2009 and I kept going by replacing parts.
I am a 77 yr old mechanical engineer so machinery is no problem usually.
Old machine had display telling you time to complete cycle and if the machine was out of balance.
New machine tells you next to nothing. It will stop, lid locked and led's flashing. No indication of why it stopped. All I can do is remove most of load after turning power off. Then I select drain and spin. Other times when very little is in tub machine will sit making noise for hours but never finishing.
I am not a laundry expert and this machine is making it next to impossible and no one cares.
Whirlpool says it cannot be exchanged because Home Depot policy does not permit. I spent over one grand and am completely frustrated. Manuals and Quick Start guide have little info and Whirlpool has no more info on line.
I am writing this review as I am speaking with the service call agent as I didn't want to wait to share how crappy the service really is. He was straight up rude and passive aggressive for no reason from the very beginning of the call. Wouldn't wait, constantly interrupted. Active listening is probably a joke to this guy. Stopped speaking suddenly when I called him out for not listening and then stayed calm on the for 5 minutes and hung up.
Have had a KitchenAid fridge for 5 years & 3 months with a 5 year full warranty and 10 year warranty on the cooling system. Late May our fridge was warm, called service - 2 months later and we still have no fridge. Told by the authorized service technician that it is an internal refridgerant issue and non repairable and that since it is under the 10 year warranty they owe us a new fridge. Whirlpool will not provide the new fridge - offering a 35% discount on a $5,400 fridge. It actual cost us over $1,000 per year. Worst company ever to deal with.
After accepting the service order with confirmation code the service technician didn't turn up and didn't pick up phone and didn't respond to text messages. Highly unprofessional and poor service just like the product itself. Couldnt find a Zero rating, hence rated 1.
I've bought the W*******A Whirlpool dishwasher in June 2021. I had to replace the drain pump first time in October last year and a second time in June this year! I don't recommend at all this very unreliable product
