This is by far the worst game I have ever played! Not only is it a cheating $#*! but they force you to spend money to play it and the fact you have to have 100% connectivity to play it will be its undoing! Don't waste time or money downloading it pure $#*!!
I've been trying for days to hit the ball. Never have! I swing and swing and swing but never hit the ball. There are NO instructions or guidelines to help me... the game looks good but I'm still on the first tee swinging at air and out of time... again!
This game has no constancy and the makers have no clue about the actual physics of golf. The shots do not end up where they are supposed to and you can hit two shots the exact same and not end up in the same place. Absolute crap game
I am a new golfer and went to WGT to play some online golf. Imagine my surprise when many of the other players I was partnered up with SEVERE pornographic images for their pics. It was gross and degrading to women. Come WGT clean up your act!
You are a better golfer IF you purchase there products, if not your not that good. Also hacks and amateurs beat you constantly. When you play a hack or amateur all of a sudden you can't drive, you can't chip and you can't putt. The other thing I've noticed is when a opponent plays bad, you play bad too. Every round is geared for a tie and a play-off.
They manipulate your game to make you lose your credits, so you have to buy more. It doesn't matter how good you get, the program will allow amateurs to win, by
Manipulating your ball in distance and putting. Have spoken to them about it and 5hey say nothing they can do... scam. Just to take more and more of your $$$$$. Beware
There are people on this game that will hack and steal your credits also your equipment! And when you let game support know they say they have nothing to do with that part of gaming! Wgt offers surveys to get free credits after 30min survey no credits! Wgt says they have nothing to do with that again! Yet offer on THEIR game! So don't buy anything ever!
They are asking you to review the game not complain that you have to spend money to be good. The truth is the game is 100% free, you can pretty much play it for the rest of your life and never spend a cent. You might not enjoy how much harder it will be for you compared to someone that spent some money but hey life isn't fair. I have spent about $15 so far and when I get to higher lvls I most likely will spend money I consider it price for my enjoyment. Only complaint I have is connection is kinda jumpy at times but other then that enjoying myself, good game.
I couldn't agree more with some of the comments. This is one cheating, manipulating, and money hungry game. Please Please do not donate to the screwed up game. Take the money and play real golf, buy your significant other something special, buy your child their favorite toy. Just don't play this game. There is nothing FREE about this game. You can see how it controls the game, jerky meters, which they say is the player problem, I call BS, it is their server or game. They control the flight of the ball so you loose them and need to buy more. They pick the score and winner of each game, they tell you to practice. Again BS. Example, I have missed 1 foot putts because of their control, they make the ball lip out and travel twice as far away as the putt you had. They are BIG time cheaters and manipulators. The gamin commission should close them down and make them pay back what they have stolen..
Terrible game. I deleted it from my computer because it so bad. They want reviews but do nothing to make the game better they just make it worse. All they want you to do is spend money to play there game. If is was a better game it might be worth spending a few dollars on it. There has to be a much better game out there to play.

* yardage is 20-30% shorter, must play closest tees and that is still long
* ball flight is way off
* chipping is nearly impossible and forget getting out of a bunker
This is the most inconsiste game I ever played. You can hit the same shot 20 times with a different result each time. The ball has a mind of its own. If you purchase better balls they will misteriously hook or slice into a lost ball area (this ripoff should be illegal).
I mistakenly opened 2 accounts. When I realized it I contacted wgt to close one down. In WGT's Terms and Conditions it clearly states the first account opened is the one that stays open. All other accounts get closed. Not this time. They closed down the first account that i opened and had purched numerous new clubs under and when I pointed their terms and conditions out to them they shut both accounts down and won't give me the information to contact a Manager.
They cannot fix errors made by them. After spending hundreds of dollars they reranked chosen few so they could no longer compete. Stated they could not change status of a player once they changed them. I was one of the unlucky (reason unknown) to be ranked as Legend. My Average 63 at time. Hundreds of players with lower average kept tour master rating thus able to compete. I was informed that the only way to go back was start all over. Thus I would have to respend hundreds, establish new mail account, and reregister all my friends. To reach the level I had reached that took well over a hundred dollars and nearly one year. They offered me $50 to do it. They can manipulate any player they want thus causing the same problems to anyone else. I cannot count the players who also got hurt and complained on their site about who they chose and why.
I really enjoyed the game but the cost and ongoing problems with the people running it is ridiculous.
When I used to spend a lot of money on balls, clubs, etc, the app worked fine. Since moving to China for a teaching job, anything Google related won't work (even with a supposed "unblockable" VPN). Now I can't even update to the latest version because it automatically takes me (or tries to) to the Google Play Store. Any other app store version does the same. Something tells me WGT has sold their souls to Google for a share of the pie. So much for the little guy. It used to be such a nice app to play with friends. But once they find out you're not spending any more money, the have one word for you: "Update"... well I have a word for you WGT: Buh-Bye!
So you get a 3 foot putt on a green with a 13 speed and a 1 inch downhill grade that you gauge to hit 3 feet and it goes 2 feet. Then you have a 60 foot putt with a 7 inch downgrade that you gauge to hit 30 feet and it goes 90. WTF? Wind effects are different each game. Some of the courses that I've played do not have the kicks you get with this game. Overall just not a well written program.
If you want to get ripped off from a online game, then join WGT. They took me for $30. Half the time the game freezes up or is so jittery you can not even play. They do not stand behind their game at all. If you experience problems, all they ever tell you is it's your computer, when in fact it is their game screwing up.

I had 3 million plus and suddenly down to 500k... contact customer support and no return reply... this is twice now for a total of over 200 dollars worth... The World Golf Tour free game is essentially a rip off of the long time online golf game Shot Online. Both operate in the same manner. If you want to play better and progress in the game you need to spend real money. And, a lot of money. However, if you don't care about shooting poor rounds and all you want to do is waste online time playing golf, then either one is for you. What the difference is between WGT and Shot Online is the fun. Shot Online is much more fun than WGT. However, WGT has real courses in the world that are actually sponsored by the courses themselves. That is one thing that Shot Online will probably never have. If I have to choose between the two, I'll take Shot Online from South Korea any day over this WGT from NBC. WGT is stupid.
