Waijiaoyi has brought so much fun to me as an ESL teacher because of the kids. They are really enthusiastic about learning so it makes them so fast to learn that you don't repeat the lessons over and over again. They have rapid mastery of subject matter and the digital world is so much an acquiantance of them that every lesson is effortless. So I am a proud teacher of smart students and it makes me less stressful than the previous jobs that I had. Thanks Waijiaoyi!

I worked there for 3 month & I received just 1 payment with delay! Whenever I asked about payment, they refused giving me an exact pay day.
Just waste of time!

Waijiaoyi owes three months of salary to all of their teachers. For 10 months, even more for some of us, we've been waiting and pushing for our money, but we are only getting false deadlines and promises, that's when we get answers at all from HD. Now all of us teachers are stuck, afraid that if we leave they will not pay us. Our contracts expired and they dont want to renew them, they always give us some explanation such is oh unfortunately person responsible is on maternity leave or on vacation and so on We are all trying to find a lawful way to get what we earned but it's hard since the company is in China. They are hiring because many teachers left, but the truth is they are not trustworthy. Do not work for them.

I was pleased to learn about WAIJIAOYI as a teacher. Being part of this company gives me a lot of opportunities to teach and show my strong initiative and exceptional organizational skills combined with my ability to work well under pressure.

Online teaching is the recent trend I tried. I think the idea is a great fit for my lifestyle so I applied at Waijiaoyi upon hearing it from my friend who's been with them for 4 months now. When I decided to work at Waijiaoyi, it changed my daily routine. I love what I'm doing everyday. I can take care of my family while working and earning. Traditionally, teachers are usually required to follow a pre-designed curriculum and aren't given much room for their own creativity. But As an ESL teacher, this can vary greatly.

With Waijiaoyi, although we are tasked to follow specific materials, the way we implement them is wholly dependent on us. It allows me more freedom to be as creative as I like as long as I am meeting the class goals.

I have been working with Waijiaoyi (WJY) at the Beijing office for 6 months now, and on the plane back from a trip home for holiday I was genuinely excited to be coming back to work. The teacher role at WJY is not quite like any regular teaching job, its more like you are hosting a TV show. You have potentially hundreds of students watching you at any time which makes the work extremely important. And if you are so inclined, makes you feel a bit like a star.

Overall, everyday is focused on getting ready for the classes you are going to be teaching. We aren't teaching/broadcasting for the majority of the working day and the classes are only 25 minutes long.

The focus of our lessons is to make an entertaining and engaging experience where students learn by staying fixed through games, chants, songs, and captivating storylines. In many respects we are similar to Sesame Street or Blue's Clues.

When not in the VR room and on camera the atmosphere in the office is light, friendly, warm, and personal. There is a massive team upstairs working on everything leading up to and surrounding the lessons that the key handful of teachers deliver. So sometimes when you make a mistake you are letting quite a few people down.

In other respects, when you need assistance with anything; your visa, ordering things off of the internet, buying a phone etc. The Chinese colleagues in the office are right there to help you with anything.

I have started working for Waijiaoyi a couple of months ago and I'm so happy to have chosen this company. I would say it's a dream job as I've never been in a working environment where staffs are accommodating and objective all the way. Although the atmosphere is quite competitive as you work with other highly qualified teachers, the admin makes sure that everyone gets as much bookings as the rest. Clearly, the future of VR in education is very exciting and full of potential. It didn't take me long to realize that so I browsed for a school that offers such teaching service. It was not hard at all as Waijiaoyi seems to be very present in every review sites I would visit. I didn't waste time and applied for the position. It was pretty efficient as I got booked for an interview the next 2 days. I underwent a series of interviews and was fortunately offered the job. I was ecstatic to start!
