This website is like a search engine for voice over talent and it does attract some great voice over artists. You can hear samples of their work online and get quotes for projects fairly easily. If you are looking exclusively for voice over work, I think going to sites like this is better than some of the sites that have a combination of acting/voice overs.

Simply put, I have built my successful VO business through connections I have made on Voice123. Through carefully curated auditioning and follow-up with clients secured on the platform, I have a healthy full time voice over business that I am proud of. My questions and concerns are addressed promptly and I am always satisfied with the results. Keep up the great work, V123!

If you are on the free plan you will be send "fulfilled" auditions by the Voice 123 team.
I just spend my sunday morning auditioning for a project that wasn't looking for voice actors anymore.
When you get send the project you will still be able to submit your proposal and only then will it tell you the job has been fulfilled.
This is time you spend recording you will never get back and a very $#*!ty way of trying to get you to pay for a plan.

Review of v123
March 5, 2020

I still think it's worth the investment however, the new membership options are confusing and overwhelming. I am on the waiting list for too long for the top membership program - no updates from v123 where I stand. Im ranked in top 20% but still offered little in paying jobs and also projects that are "in perpetuity" - so my options on projects to audition for are even more limited.

I am an actor and voice actor who has been subscribing to Voice123 since July 24 2006. From then until now (and throughout all the tough lockdowns here in the UK) I have been auditioning for (and booking some!) great jobs for companies located here, in Europe and in the US. The site makes submitting auditions simple, quick and very effective. Whenever I have had problems or queries, the Voice123 customer service has always been brilliant, providing prompt and helpful responses. I know from speaking to voice seekers that they also find Voice123's service very valuable - my Voice123 profile has even enabled some great companies to track me down and many remain valued colleagues to this day. So many issues to list. Is a loose-loose for talent. Many auditions aren't real (they take them from other casting sites), they allow anyone to join (low-quality, non experienced talent), total waste of time for producers.

I am Latin American Spanish Speaker. Maybe for this reasons the site has been always helpul for me. I am platinum member since 2010 almost and I got a lot of jobs in Spanish. Between 2015 and 2016 decreased something.

I didn't renew my premium account. Curiously, I received more direct invitations being just a standard member! And most of the auditions I won. Plus, the first clients after the first job just contacted me directly. Some of them I met personally in San Francisco, LA, Miami, NY and Tampa. Some of those jobs were related to dubbing to Spanish. Other clients I met through remote sessions.

At this time, you wonder, is it really worthly to pay a membership just to get more auditions and higher rating? Does really matter a rating?

Lots of work for no jobs
February 20, 2020

The site seems to be lacking information. Its VERY difficult to win bids and the project invites are few. I imagine if you opt for the $600 membership, you would be more likely to win bids. I wasn't willing to gamble away $600. I will stick with voices.com, at least I can compete on that site.

I was on/off again with Voices123, as they were purportedly 'upgrading' their site platform. Whatever. Grew tired of emails for very last-minute animation and commercial 'auditions' that closed within 6 hours (true story) So I spammed them so I wouldn't have to deal with the junk. Just recently decided to log back in to see if anything had changed or improved since Dec 2022. NOPE. Upon editing the samples in my profile, the pages wouldn't respond, or kept giving me errors stating something had moved, or was no longer an option. Wth. Okay... I am permanently done with Voices123 as no one at the wheel. Whatever. Their loss.

I've been using v123 for several years now. Even though a lot has been going on around the platform recently, I will always be thankful to v123 for giving me some of my best work. Sure there are days when not much is happening, but I've never felt like it wasn't worth my time or money. I have secured repeat clients and made a decent amount of money. I wouldn't bet on it to be my sole bread earner but it does what it is supposed to.

Scam. Beware.
June 25, 2016

This site allows anyone to join so long as they pay $400.
Actually let me correct that. You can join with a free account but you can't audition for anything. They kind of dangle a carrot in front of you showing you all the jobs you COULD BE applying for, IF YOU PAY THEM $400 per year.

Don't join any site that allows simply anyone to join and create a profile whether they have ever done a voice over or not!

Feels like a rip off
September 30, 2020

I started my VO career on Voice Bunny so I learned to work quick, jump on opportunities as soon as possible and produce a high quality product. I do well on VB and am proud of my work. Voice123 is not the opportunity you think it is. Here are my main points of contention: 1) It's expensive to join. I spent $395 on a "premium" membership. Sometimes I will go a week or more without an invite to audition... 2) You will work your mic off for no money. I have spent 6 months reading/editing auditions and I try to submit 8-10 auditions a week if possible. I have never received one reply, not even from the dozens of "zero budget" jobs they keep sending my way. 3) The odds of "winning" a job are infinitesimal because of the way the site is set up. Often jobs will want 20 applications (so your odds are 20:1 of getting the job) then it will allow 30 or more submissions after the initial 20 spots have been filled. Very frustrating. 4) They have NO support or assistance program. Your on your own... good luck.
I could keep going, but I think you understand.
Overall I would say stay away from this site. Use your money for a better mic or flyers to hand out at the mall, you'll get more work that way.

I've had a lot of success using Voices.com so I thought I'd expand my market by signing up for Voice123. They're pretty much the same thing, right? Wrong. On Voices.com at the basic membership level, around $500 for the first year, you get a shot at pretty much every job that comes along. They send an email and the faster you reply the better your chances (in my experience).
On Voice123 for I signed up for the $888/yearly plan. Since there are higher payment levels what I've found is that by the time I get an email notifying me of a job it already has so many people who've already responded (the higher levels) that the chances of the job poster even listening to my audition is minimal, or sometimes the number of audition slots requested is filled up already even if I open the email immediately. The jobs that aren't filled are usually low paying or even NO paying (why would they even allow those kinds of jobs on their site?).
From a side by side comparison I'd say that the best return on your money is likely from Voices.com. I've made several thousand from that site so I don't think it's my skills or talent holding me back on Voice123. They protect their top payers, and I get that. But for the amount of money I'm spending I'm getting great results on Voices.com and after 4 months still no results on Voice123, mainly because the jobs that do filter down my way are so low paying they really aren't worth the time.

Voice123 has recently made some changes to their website. I used to book regularly through them, but after many auditions and no bites, I took a closer look. It's a regular free for all, with anyone being able to audition, with no limits. So if you are a strong performer that's a good match for the job, you may end up being the 1000th person to be notified, with no chance at all of your audition being opened. In fact, only 5% of my auditions have been opened since the changes. The system attempts to, but does not reward top talent. It's a waste of my time. Another problem is that the clients will eventually be disheartened to hear 1000 mediocre auditions if people like me are discouraged.

I was already soured by the few times I reached out to customer service, and they were of no help. It's not a customer service oriented business at all.

Just to give you some context, in the same amount of time I have booked 4 jobs with Voices.com, and have had many "likes" on my auditions. They have some inherent problems as well, but not to this extent. I'm not going to renew my Voice123 subscription unless they make substantial changes.

After 2 months of being a VOICE 123 Worker, I have not established any link despite the fact that they send me between 3 and 6 tasks a day and I answer all of them.

It seems to me that there is something obscure in this, since I have noticed that they send me the same task separated in 3 different invitations, that is, since I order all the tasks in a WORD document, I was able to realize that he sends me, for example, Tuesday the first part of three of a text, Wednesday morning the second part that is a continuation of that same writing only in a different invitation and Wednesday night in another invitation that is the third part of a complete text.

I wonder if I've been a fool completing Tasks that I do professionally and someone else is getting paid for me?

On other occasions they send an Invitation that is clearly the complete task but they have never paid me 1 cent for those tasks, there are works that I have completed of more than 600 words that they send as "Script for custom audition". In this case, the task would be practically completed but they do not pay anything for doing it.

I have started to work on my own in Social Networks looking for Tasks by myself since I start to think that these Freelancer type sites make us work but not pay, how can I know on this side of my Laptop?

This is the worst site I've ever joined, and is a total waste of money. Let me preface this by saying I am a full time freelancer belonging to several other sites, and regularly booking jobs there. I've been a member of Voices123 for a few months and not booked a single job. But then, it's hardly possible to book a job when you're only supposed to audition for one a day!

The smart cast system they use is idiotic. You are advised to audition for 1-4 jobs a day, max. THATS IT. First of all, that in and of itself is ridiculous. The more jobs you audition for the less castings you will receive. How does that make sense? They also have an audition rating system that is equally idiotic and totally pointless. Clients are often giving more than 50% of auditions a 1 star rating (out of four). How can that possibly be accurate that more than half of the auditions to a project should warrant a 1 star rating?! The rating system is also used to calculate how many casting notices you will see and therefore be allowed to audition for, and clients are simply using it to rank which audition they like best. WHAT A JOKE!

In the past, Voice123 used to be effective for talents, with better chances of booking regular work if you were talented and driven. However, in 2023, things have changed, and the site has become more of a "Pay-to-Play" platform in the truest sense. Booking work now seems to rely heavily on paying for higher membership tiers of $888 and above or being grandfathered in from years of listing, regardless of the changing algorithm. Many at the platinum levels are either recognizable figures or potentially involved in industry scams.

Higher memberships don't seem to be worth it as downgrading didn't yield positive results either. The rating system based on clients' "likes" on proposals can be misleading, as you may receive multiple hires without corresponding "likes," causing ratings to plummet.

The site primarily offers non-union work with in-perpetuity buy-outs and extreme usage terms, which may not be ideal for beginners. The ratio of NonUnion to Union jobs is significantly skewed, with a vast majority leaning towards non-union work.

Another drawback is the site's navigational issues and frequent bugs, causing crashes or freezing.

Reviewers have found customer service lacking in addressing concerns or issues effectively.

Ultimately, the decision to use Voice123 depends on personal preference, but users are advised to be cautious and explore other online sites that might offer better experiences.
