Run! Fast!
April 17, 2023

If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm upset I have to give 1! We have had vivant service for 10ish years. Throughout the years we settled because it was easier than switching service. The last year I had the equipment on, I couldn't even turn it on because my equipment wouldn't work. They sent several service techs out but none could make it work for more than a day. They finally sent me equipment to replace myself and it still didn't work so the last year I had my service I paid for the year without being able to use it. I then canceled my service and they wanted me to pay the rest of my contract out. I refused since I already paid for a year that I couldn't use and wasn't going to be able to use the equipment for the rest of our contract. They have since sent the bill to collections because I refuse to pay for a service I can't use.

Messy company
June 8, 2023

I recently had a Vivint employee come into my barbershop to linger around 2 days in a row. He didn't mention Vivant security.just that he was "working" in the neighborhood, just wanted to hang out which alerted myself and my customers. The second day, I told him to leave. I later saw he and 2 other guys outside my shop...AGAIN! I briefly spoke with all 3 of them, one of which had his shirt off.the other 2 had Vivant shirts on. I was immediately irritated with all 3 of them. Their behavior was off. They proceeded to play on my business page taking a 5star shop down by saying some off the wall things. Vivant confirmed that they were their employees.which shocked me. Vivant saw my page and were appalled and apologetic. Days later the reviews were NOT removed as discussed. I called repeatedly, got transferred, got put on hold, talked to multiple people and no one seemed to know who to talk to. As of today the reviews are still there. I feel like making this review...multiply; just like Vivint did on my page. Only this is accurate!
I got called a racist on my page; I chose not to address that. I was "racist " toward a black employee. Vivint was far too ignorant to see that I'm black ( just light). This has been a lot of time wasted with no follow-up. I can't imagine being a customer.

You will spend hours on the phone only to be told that the only way you can cancel you service is in writing. The customer service personnel are rude and condescending

Terrible!
April 24, 2023

EW
Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! I was a loyal customer for four years. When I sold my house, I contacted Vivant to remove my fully paid equipment. Hours on hold, then transferred from one dept to another. Six days later of hours each day wasted with no resolution. No one came to uninstall my equipment to bring to the next house. To make matters worse, Vivant refused to disconnect the panel. The new residents moved in and the cameras still showed on my phone and I was notified every time they locked and unlocked the door, moved about the rooms from motion detector or opened any doors. I still had access to lock and unlock the doors, arm or disarm, etc… of course, I didn't use these features but I had full access to do so because Vivant didn't care. After the house closed, I called Vivant and spent SEVEN hours on the phone trying to disconnect the panel. I'm certain the new residents had full access to my personal information from the panel as well. I still can not get the account cancelled or the panel disconnected. DO NOT Use Vivant! This was one of the worst consumer experiences I've ever encountered. Horrible customer service. Vivant should be ashamed of how they treat their customers. They had zero regard for the privacy violations on both sides. Terrible customer service.

Horrible
October 4, 2023

I seen this company on shark tank. I look this company up and seen it was pretty good. Called it up. Talked to them and it seemed pretty good went with them because I needed cameras outside the home. We got cameras outside the home and it worked well for maybe three days and the cameras started going in and out. Can't really hear out of them now, We're about a year in with them. They want $99.99 to come out and fix anything wrong with our system. I have had multiple issues with this company. We have the fire alarms in our home, Go off at multiple times of the day for no reason. We have the back door lock that just does not work. They want to charge you money to have somebody to look at the equipment they want to charge you to send you new equipment because the old equipment doesn't work. They don't send anybody out for you to install the new equipment that they send that they make you pay for. This company is horrible. I absolutely hate it and I would not recommend it for anybody. $99.99 for somebody to come out and install a back door lock because the old one doesn't work after having to pay to get a new one sent out is just ridiculous.

I would have cancelled this company long ago, but because I have a loan for the equipment I can't cancel the service, because I can't cancel the loan.

Over the past two years we have experienced FOUR false fire alarms. The first was when we were five hours from home and the fire department ended up inside our house. I didn't know that when the alarm goes off, it unlocks the front door! Vivint would take no responsibility. Instead I was told it was because the sensor was too close to a heating vent. Vivint installed it there! So a tech moved it six feet away. The next alarm, false again, was downstairs. The final outcome: replace the faulty unit. Getting Vivint to respond on anything is a major challenge. It wasn't until I started telling my story on social media that I got a call from a higher-up. He was brilliant on reading his talking points but a zero on fixing the problem. Spoke to him again after the latest falsey: I kept asking, "So, is it acceptable for your system to go off with false fire alarms every three or so months?" Never got an answer. I called the tech who put in the system and has done service calls (never let anyone leave without getting their name and phone number!). He wasn't available as he was just returning from a company-paid trip to Hawaii. He tells me I have to call corporate to get on the calendar and he never gets back to me! I feel hamstrung because I have money still outstanding to pay off this debacle. After $#*!ing at the corporate guy and him doing nothing but telling me to wait (after I rebooted my system), he finishes with "Is there anything else I can do for you today?" I laughed out loud. "You really haven't done anything for me today," I replied. Then when the tech asked me to set an appointment, he asked if I knew any potential customers! I laughed again. I could not recommend this company to anyone. While I may have vented, I am still left with a faulty security system and a company that provides terrible customer service.

STAY AWAY BEFORE THEY DO THIS TO YOU. DONT BE ANOTHER ONE OF THEIR VICTIMS. I had to send Vivint an email saying we wanted out of our contract 30 days before we wanted to end our service. The day I sent this letter I find out that Vivint discontinued our service with them without giving me any notice and left my family and I unprotected. Vivint says they are here to protect our family and our security. How do they figure they did that? DONT COUNT ON VIVINT RESPONDING. Not my 1st review on Vivint. This is not my first review on this company. THEY WOULDNT KNOW THEIR CODE OF ETHICS IF IT WAS TO SLAP THEM IN THE FACE.

Never works properly
June 26, 2023

I have had this system for a short time, within that time frame, I have had to contact customer service several times. This system is always going offline. Then I have to go through rebooting the system, rebooting my Wi-Fi and chatting with a rep for what seems like forever. I was told this was a "known" issue. The rep even blamed ATT. He said ATT had blocked their equipment. I have had ATT for quite some time and have never had any issues. Not to mention all other devices in my home were connected to ATT Wi-Fi and working properly. Why aren't these "known" issues explained to consumers before signing a lengthy contract? I was also informed that I couldn't cancel my subscription until my contract was up in 2028. Basically I'm paying full price for a service that only works part time. I don't know of anyone that can work part time and get paid for full time work. Someone really needs to look in to the practice of Vivint! I sincerely believe they trick customers into buying mediocre services. This should not be allowed. Did I mention I was told I would have to pay for a representative to come out? This equipment is not paid for, meaning it's still the property of Vivint, they should be responsible for maintaining their own equipment. Please be informed and know what u are getting yourself in to before making this decision. I wish I had read some of the reviews before making this terrible decision.

Wasted my time
January 18, 2023

When I reached out to them to secure this as my security system, they were quick to call back 20 times, put the supposed soft inquiry on my credit, which was a hard pull and rang my phone off the hook. Today we were scheduled for a 8-12 install and they didnt show up. I have called 3 times already and they told me they are having a very busy day. Cant find the person installing, their manager, a manager above that person, nor a dispatch person. WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS ARE THEY RUNNING? This is ridiculous and they have WASTED MY TIME! Very uprofessional and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

All Vivint cares about it the sale of the equipment, a salesman was walking my neighborhood and came to my home asked me how I liked there service I told him about the problems I was having he told me that he would get it repaired the next week(big surprise nothing happened) another salesman came by 3 weeks later and he just wanted to sell me new equipment I told him no and they should fix what I have he called and made me an apt for 10:00 the next day, and when I called to confirm it they said it was for 10pm and put me on hold for over an hour and gave me an apt time of 8am till noon the following day and never showed up or called me. It has been like this with customer service this whole time my contract is over soon (5 year contract) and I will definitely go with a different company Vivint is a huge mistake DON'T do it. All of my neighbors and family that have Vivint are also not happy, worst company ever BEWARE!

I have had vivint for less than a week. I was told if I was unhappy they would come get everything unless I wanted to buy the equipment. The first night the back door monitor stopped working. The second day the cameras started taking far to long to connect. The third day the panel stopped working. I called Fri evening which was my 3rd day, they were already closed. I called the weekend and they were closed. Now mon morning I'm told they won't take it back because I'm past my 3 days and I need to live with it. He said we have you on contract it's yours now I suggest you just keep getting it fixed. I can prove I called and he said so it does t matter and that was the manager Javi gutterierez. Is this how you do business? I'll make sure everyone knows every block around me knows not to let your guys in the house. I'll be putting up flyers today with my story. I was on hold so long. The manager and the rep just played a game thinking it was funny telling me bo one was going to tell me anything different. The price is way to high for the equipment but I thought I'd give it a try, it must be better than just grabbing cameras online running them piecing together everything yourself. It's not save thousands and do it yourself. I will be texting everyone I know and posting this everywhere I can. We had a prowler in the neighborhood this weekend banging on everyone's doors,my system was useless for my family. It could've been simple to take it back since I've been calling. Instead Javi told me I'd have to pay 1600 today for this non working equipment then they'd come get it? Really

Worst customer service ever
August 3, 2023

I had a TORNADO wipe out my building. I called to cancel service. They said they understood the situation. Their is no building, no alarm service needed. I was still under contract. They said they would waive termination fee and cancel service. A couple months went by. They continue to auto draft monthly payments. There is NO way to turn off autopay online! I called to get a refund. They said they would cancel service and refund. A couple months went by. Building construction is complete. The service never got canceled. I called to order new equipment which was quoted at $1100. Waited for installer to arrive, nobody shows up. No call, no show. I call again to cancel service. They said they would refund the months of no service. NO refund was received. A few months went by. I had to call to cancel service again and get a refund. Its been 18 months of no service and no refunds. Each time I call, Im on hold with '"Loyalty" department for an hour. Im currently stuck paying monthly for a service I do not have!

The sales process of buying into the service was very smooth. The service was in my name for my elderly mother. After two years of using the service, my mother took a turn for the worst and no long able to live independently. I tried to cancel the service for now two months without any success.
I have tried to cancel four times over the last two months, with very long calls. I even received a service charge for Dec and Jan, when the system is completely offline.
I was given a long reading of the policy on cancellation during the first call, and was told I couldn't cancel because my mother is not on the account. I also was told I had to pay off the equipment loan to cancel the service on a different call. I then was told on my third call that I had to pay the service charges when the service is offline. I said no. I was threatened that my credit score will be impacted if I don't pay.
What does all these interactions sound like to you?
I have filed a dispute with my bank and block the charges from coming in.
This is a sign of a company that have no customer service! Do not get trapped!

First issue: My husband was highly intoxicated the sales person would told my husband a dollar amount for the purchase but had him sign off for something much higher. He knew he was taking advantage of him and should be in jail for what he did. Second issue, when we tried to cancel it, they refused and said we still owe for the equipment and have to pay it. We can't afford an attorney which is what they prey on. Third issue: We rarely can connect to the video to see what happened/is happening. The sales person was informed we have to have all the equipment to be able to see what is going on at any time and to be able to record it. It's always down and glitchy. When we are able to view live, it shows only a few frames at a time. When reviewing recordings, it will show a second or 2 of what was recorded, pop back to live view, then pop back to recorded just to go back to liv again rinse/repeat. Fourth issue: worst people ever on the phone. Dumb, illiterate, they talk down to you, could care less that you are having issues, speak to you with disrespect, ignore everything you say. I have nothing nice to say about ANY of the people working there. They don't deserve any of your money. They are just Con artist trying to Scamyou out of your money.

Never even completed setup
September 30, 2023

Avoid at all cost! I had a rep call me while I was at work and he was at home persuading my husband (whole other story) harassed me til I finally just agreed! They put in only the doorbell camera and after a few days of reading the contract it was nothing like what the rep told me over the phone! I requested to return items they insisted that I keep it just try it out & I had 3 days free until installation fee came out. Supposedly, it didn't count against me since the system wasn't completely installed & that they would get someone to come out and finish the job. Well that turned into 2-3 wks & by then the install fee come out & keep in mind system not installed. Around a month the monthly payment has been charged. I called again said I don't want it and of course once I got a hold of the home office I was past my 30 days. So I'm stuck 2 separate accounts going against my credit. I tried to tell them I would have been settled this but I was dealing with a terminal ill parent while still working full time so by time I got home nightly the office was closed! And when I took FMLA and was able to call during business hours again past my 30 days. So I have equipment that was never even setup! And their too expensive. And I have letters reporting me to credit agencies about a system I would have never agreed to if I would have been home!

I am so disappointed with this service and company! I signed up for it as it's a service my office offers to better show clients what it does. Spoke to the reps who sold it and they say if you no longer want the service you can call in, they'll buy back your equipment if it is not damaged and cancel the monthly service charge of $60.60. THIS IS FALSE! I tried multiple times to cancel this service and return the equipment to zero out my account and now they've charged me for the entire cost of the equipment, over $2300 for the basic package even though I paid monthly on it for 2+ years, won't return it and sent my account to collections! I've received no letters and just got a call from a collection agency after thinking this was resolved last year. I strongly DO NOT recommend them and will tell all my clients this terrible experience with them. They refused to work with me even when I initially started the cancelation process when Covid hit since I couldn't afford it anymore and now have made it even harder. I can't believe this company would do this and even to someone who is supposed to advocate and sell their products.

Be careful when renewing a contract with vivint and be sure to make your own recording of the call. I called on September 4th/2022 to cancel my services from vivint and they put me through to the loyalty department. They through everything at me to lock me into a contract ( free equipment and cameras with a playback feature, free 2 months after renewal). Stuff that sounded to good to be true. As soon as I verbally agreed to a contract renewal they weee quick to come out and install the new equipment. After the equipment was installed I called and asked about the playback feature on the cameras and they told me there was a $250 charge for that feature ( wasn't told that prior to renewal) and they bounced the first months payment with NSF fees ( after they said we would have 2 months free). After numerous calls from customer service reps they said they listens to my call at renewal time and none of those promises were made and cannot provide me with those phone recordings. They are piers and scammers.

Vivint preys on exsiting costumers, sending door knockers to sell you equipment you don't need and telling you that upgrades are needed. They lie and charge you massive amount of money for trash equipment. I upgraded to a new panel and they told me it would cost very little and could cancel service as long as my equipment is paid off. They took a crappy credit card IN MY NAME and put all the equipment on it at 19% interest. Needless to say but I paid it off immediately and they won't let me out of the contract AND THEIR EQUIPMENT IS JUNK AND LEAVES MY FAMILY UNPROTECTED FOR WEEKS AND MONTHS AT A TIME. I have got a big buisness to drop them by the end of the month and working on 2 more and they are passing the word around. This will cost them tens of thousands a year all to get 45 dollars a month out of me. Good buisness move you fools. Got to go, I have more people from social media wanting out and costumers who will never use them that was thinking about doing buisness with them.
