Video Proficient

Please learn from my experience and run away from these people. Video proficient took my money and has not returned ANYTHING. Nothing. A website with a video. They first charge you and then tell you that you need to buy more services to be able to use a video. So, you spend more money. Then more. Its been 2 years and I have not received my website, my logo, my video, my copyrights of the video.

In addition to the above FACTS, my OPINION is that many of these people are fake. They send you emails with different names and when you show them email on a commitment, they say, well Jeff is a different guy. If you can understand a fake american accent, you'll share my opinion. Its funny but not funny in a way. Just save your money.

Be very careful they will find any excuse to up charge you and steal the money!
If you don't make decisions fast enough they will attempt the up charge you $500 for inactivity.
They will site the agreement and the terms of service as reason for the penalty. I reviewed both carefully and showed them that there is no such clause but they will insist on charging you the penalty to "reactivate"
I now spent $799 and got nothing from them.

This company claims they are in the US and the UK but they are in India. They claim they can get you a creative one of a kind video in 10 days but that is crap. We signed up with them for a 90-second animated video and have regretted it ever since. The project managers all have whitewashed vanilla names like * and *. While working with them we have had no less than 5 different Project managers and 6 storyboards in the course of 90 days. It is clear that they outsource the project to several subs because of the huge language barrier. They now claim that they will NOT refund the money and all of their "support" email addresses are nonexistent. STAY FAR AWAY!

Video Proficient does a good job of producing fairly high quality videos for very low cost in a short time frame. They are mostly good about communicating and being responsive, although sometimes you do have to follow up if you have a tight deadline. Here's what I would recommend to have a successful experience with them:

-Give them a very detailed outline of the narrative of your video to make the process easier, because they don't do as much discovery as other video vendors to understand what your company does or your message.
-Be aware that they will quote a super low price up front and then try to upsell you additional features like animated logos or custom characters nearly every time you talk to them.
-If you have a strict deadline you'll want to ask them how long each round of edits will take because they don't necessarily advise you that another round of edits will push out your delivery date. To their credit, they don't charge extra for edits.
-They will harass you until you send them feedback/post a review such as this one once your project is done. I got a few calls and emails advising me that my feedback was "required" even after I did give my feedback during the initial call I received.

For the extremely low cost, they are worth it for companies on a budget.
