Pending payment with Venmo since 2.16 and they will not release my funds back to my card, even after the Merchant has given authorization to release the funds as the transaction has posted over 2 weeks ago now. Customer service and I use the term loosely is useless. Merchant has called Venmo on a 3 way call advising to release the funds, with me on the line and they still refuse to release the funds back on my card stating today that the funds are lost in transition whatever that means. BBB here I come.
Please stay away from this site, they are full of scammers with deceit, if care is not taken, you will lose fortunes to them and they will block you afterwards. I lost so much to these scammers and they thought they could get away with my funds but i took actions on them after i reported my issues, i was able to get back my funds back and brought them to justice.
I rarely use Venmo. Occasionally to pay a vendor. I've been verified on the app. I've spend weeks trying to send my grandson money for his graduation. He's a verified user as well. The app continues to tell me that there is a problem. I've contacted CS via email and was TOLD, I have the wherewithal to send this money to the recipient. It doesn't work. I called Customer Service and even spoke to a "Supervisor." They said try adding a debit card. Regardless of whether it is a direct debit from my checking account, debit card or credit card - it doesn't work.
They cannot tell me why, nor can they override the block. Their best explanation is that I don't use the service enough. FU. I will not use it again. It is useless. All I want to do is send $5K to my grandson. Have nearly $2M in cash.
When a company doesn't let a supervisor really assist, then they don't trust their employees and they don't trust the users of their service.
Venmo is ok for sending /receiving/ cash and purchase of items. However if you use Venmo to book a hotel that holds a blance for incidentals, Venmo will continue to hold your money 14 days after the hotel has released your funds.
Another dissatisfaction...If you transfer money from your bank account as opposed to your debt card Venmo will hold your transfer 7 days before you can have access to your money. Both of these negative examples allows Venmo to obtain interest from your money. In my personal opinion CASH app or ZELLE or better options.
Venmo customer service is a joke to put it cordially.
The end.
A very dissatisfied lady.
So my friend gets me to download venmo app because he wants to pay me for work I'm doing on his parents house and venmo ends up being a total pain in the $#*! to even get signed up on that it took me over an hour to do it, then venmo was such a pain in the $#*! for my friend who already had it to be able to send me the money he wanted to pay me and was unable to do so at all. After 3 days of headache dealing with venmo my friend decided to suck it up and find another way so we both killed our venmo account and have uninstalled the application.
As to their customer service, it doesn't exist because the people running venmo don't seem to care anything about the customers to give any type of serviceability to their representatives. So that sucks for everyone, their employees and attempted customers.
Now that I've gotten rid of their $#*! I've tried cash app but I don't know if it's going to work for my friend, so there may be another review coming soon.
I am a business owner of 17 years. I recently started to use Venmo for a way of customers to pay me. Since opening the account, I have lost money (over $200) that I was not aware at the time I needed to transfer into my account and I have on many occasions received payments intended for another business to my business. In these instances, there is no easy way to transfer the money back to the owner. The most recent time this happened (this week), I had to transfer the money back to the owner minus the fees that Venmo now takes out. To me, this looks like I am keeping the fees. I highly recommend not using Venmo and finding other sources to use for payments. You too may be losing money or accepting money that does not belong to you.
Venmo supports criminals and allows them to conduct business through their app! The first time I used Venmo to pay for a product I bought from someone, they never came through with the product as promised. I contacted Venmo to report this person and they said they couldn't help me. They continue to allow the criminal to do business through their app! This is just crazy! They never froze his account or did anything! Poor business ethics!
Opened new account couple days ago. Tried logging in from different laptop, could not. Tried resetting pw. Requested code via text (two-factor authentication), received msg 'couldn't send code'. Added bank account when I opened account. Service rep on phone told me I had no bank acct on file. I had enough. Piece of $#*! fn programming!
I bought Crypto through Venmo thinking I would be able to transfer it to my wallet. Nope. Venmo had not set up a way for all of their customers to transfer crypto out of their site yet. I talked to a customer service representative and they told me the only way to get the money out was to sell the crypto back to cash. So I did. I asked them to reimburse me the $60 I had to spend selling the crypto and they refused to reimburse even though they had no way of letting me get the crypto out and no way of knowing how long it would take for me to be able to transfer it to a wallet.
They froze my account and want to bill me for service that was canceled by the merchant who claims they never even took any money from Venmo. So in essence Venmo is trying to bilk me for money to pay some business that never even took money and already canceled the service I signed up for. Lame across the board. They use their lame tech and don't go in to review what actually happened. Suck on it. I refuse to pay for service that was canceled just because your system claims it sent digital funds to a company that says they never even got the funds and canceled the charges. So where does the money go? Venmo and then they send the consumer to collections and blame you for it. LAME. SUCKS. NEVER USE VENMO again.
My wife had fraud action on her Venmo. I called to alert. They said they could not verify me, she needed to call herself.
I was on hold for this 10 min and got disconnected.
I called back and asked for supervisor. After 12 min wait got someone. They relayed that I can connect in my wife. What a surprise! I could not get my wife online.
It seems like they would more concerned that someone is trying to cheat them and us them procedure of how to call in.
Now fraud is being committed and nothing is being done about it.
Not impressed. Makes me want to cancel my PayPal and Venmo accounts
Btw when I PayPal first they told me I needed to call Venmo separately? As if they are not connected? What a $#*! show
As a PYPl shareholder I think I will sell
Shulmann should call in for service to experience the joke going on
BP
Please believe the negative comments this bank is ridiculous at first it was fine until I sold a product to someone they called Venmo and said they never received it just to try to get their money back. They freeze my account and tell me to send my photo i.d which I did then never heard back from them so I thought everything was good 30 days later they tell me I'm permanently deactivated which is nutssss I have proof of the person received the item and they didn't even want to hear my side I have money in my Venmo account I can't even access it could take up to 190 days what joke this company is absolutely disgusting.
I recently leased my condo in Walnut Creek CA and opened a Venmo account for regular/monthly deposit of rent. My tenant did deposit the rent on schedule but Venmo promptly froze my account and has been holding MY FUNDS hostage. I have spent much time on the phone and via email to have them release my funds but all I get from lots of platitude. It seems to me that holding onto other people's money as long as they can is profitable for them. I plan to avoid them in the future.
I received $50 loan from friend. Well I thought maybe I would go ahead and add a back up card. I have been using my original card for at least a year. Well when I tried back up card to put $50 on, they froze account. At first I was told 7 days, then up to 10, then up to 14 to get straight. Emailed Specialist over 20 times with no answer. Long story short. The app said I couldn't use back up card. But Venmo still wanted stmt from this account. Then they wanted stmt from the card I have used for year. Then they tell me I can't use that card. I told them that they needed to refund the 50 back to friend we ho sent it. No answer, no response. What they just put that in an account with others money, so they can get interest? How many customers money are they holding. This 50 was a loan to help me get food and needless to say... It's BS. After using them a year and they do this. I've already been a victim of Identity theft. What are they trying to do?
My Venmo account was hacked on 7/17/21. Venmo handlers it quickly and prefiessionally, finalizing the disputed charges and returning my money by 7/29/2021.
It is now 7/28/21 and they still have my account frozen. I have sent dozens of emails and called countless times with zero helpful response. Venmo support is accessible only through email. I have turned in my ID verifications and changed all my log in like they originally requested. I still have no access to my money and no one to speak to! I have filed a report with the
If you use Venmo, be aware of their service and the potential to have your account banned quickly with no explanation.
I just had the most nonsense experience and even questioned if it was a well-designed scam. Venmo sent a series of emails to me saying someone who had transactions with me stole money from them somehow. It was vague and no matter what I said they refused to clarify, which looked really suspicious. They were pretty abrupt and hostile to then say my account was permanently banned, and they act as if it's my problem they had a security breach. I still don't know what "terms of service" I broke. All of my transactions have been just fine and normal, in fact I only used the service for a few months among friends and acquaintances for the usual trades.
I even offered to help, if someone I know stole money I could just confront them. How conveniently, Venmo "couldn't give any info". Funny how they didn't think to tell me the date of the transaction or the number, considering I know my own account and they don't need to give any private info. How convenient for them. I literally did nothing wrong and this popped up in only a few emails.
Feel free to try Venmo for yourself, just be forewarned their customer service can be weird, suspicious and hostile with no explanation.
I have been making purchases on instacart with my Venmo debit card only to find out after multiple purchases that the preauthorized amount and the difference is not being returned to my account. Emailed Venmo just to here them lie and make excuses and will not put my money they STOLE back on my card! BEWARE Venmo are CRIMINALS! If you use them do not do a purchase that requires pre authorization because they will steal your money! Never trust a company that you cannot speak to a customer representative by phone which is the reason they don't have a phone contact because they are criminals! If you have had this same issue please continue to watch for the contact for an upcoming class action lawsuit against Venmo!
Venmo made it impossible by giving error codes during bank account and routining number input which was copy and paste. The account being selected for the transfer was already approved.
Out of frustration I tried the instant transfer with a fee and like magic the very same account t which wouldn't work for the free transfer worked for the instant with fees.
When I masked for a refund, Venmo provided a list of documents and verifications before Venmo would consider the request.
Venmo has an Outdated model and the worst ever Mobile Experience.
After weeks of repeated bad results I learned they can care less about Customer Retention.
After months of repeated unlawful charges they addressed a Security Breach of the monthly charges to my account. This should have been addressed immediately after filing a complaint not permitting it to re occur monthly.
In the meantime they suspended my account, my balance of funds for the last six weeks.
I called and emailed and responded to the request for uploading my government ID (( several times)).
I emailed called and complained and Keep experiencing a
Circular response to send them an ID, and change my password. This is 6 weeks and Venmo customer service acts like this is Everyone's problem but nobody's job.
Venmo's conduct is harmful to me and to customers. First a breach of security then repeatedly monthly unwanted charges, now a long suspension. This has negative effects on credit profiles, and the loss of control over personally identifiable information.
I have to waste time and energy trying to close Venmo. I fear future unauthorized charges and miss trust them to resolve, including seeking refunds for improper charges and breaches.
I would only use Venmo for emergencies but i feel your taking a risk because at anytime they can freeze your money. I've used them three times and so far so good.
Answer: My experience they are a scam. They take your money and lock you out of your account
Answer: Get them easy, they just don't do anything once you do.
Answer: I was told they don't have phones so you can only email them and it will take weeks for them to return your message
