I had five companies out here at my house all tell me to get a brand new system. I called velocity air conditioning which offered free second opinions, Not only was my telephone experience very quick and efficient, the technician arrived within my scheduled time frame and I was provided a cost for repair, or accounts for replacement which might just make my overall cost in the long run more efficient. I was pleased with provided two options, and with the excellent knowledge of the technician as well as warranty options and multiple finance options I did choose to replace my much older system with a more energy efficient higher rated seer option...

Velocity A/C came for my every 6 month tune up for $65.00. The unit was working just fine but I believe in maintenance since working for Napa Auto Parts 45 yrs and believe in preventative maintenance. Well the capacitor was bad and unit needed 3 pounds of Freon. $588.00 later. I was not happy at all. Tried calling the company while the technician was performing the repairs to try and get a discount as a regular customer. No Call Back! $126.00 a Pound? Really! You can buy the exact Freon on line for $175.00 for 25 pound cylinder. I understand you need to make a profit. But not rape your customers!

Review about Joey.
July 11, 2022

I would like to say this, In todays society you meet some very disrespectful people of all ages and backgrounds. However, today was a. Exception. Joey was and is one of the most nicest, honest, knowledgeable young person I have had the pleasure of meeting. Joey is a light in a very dark time. He got me up and running, and we also had a wonderful talk while he was here working. What an amazing young person! God is all over this young man! Thank you Joey.

Feeling extremely frustrated. The tech that came out to do our repair convinced us to sign up for a $240 maintenance package, but did not explain that that package gave us a discount. So, when I called to cancel it, they would only refund $104 dollars. We ended up spending way more money than we can afford and we're left feeling like we were tricked because we were tricked. This is what Velocity Air Conditioning does. They trick customers and then cover it up with lies.

Update - They never refunded us the $104 dollars they just said they would so they wouldn't look like the thieves they are. Velocity Air Conditioning is just a no good company whoever owns it is a scammer.

Rip off!
March 3, 2024

The estimates I received were more than ridiculous! Literally plain robbery! The electrician was more of a sales person. I got two brand new outdoor outlets with their own dedicated lines, two replaced gfcis changed, and an outdoor light fixture repaired for under $600 by one of their competitors. They wanted $1,966. I will recommend this company to anyone who wants to get ripped off!

This company is AWFUL. They will not stand behind their products or workmanship. We have had endless problems with an AC unit they installed.

Right from the start it took Velocity several tries to pass city inspection. This unit failed one month after being installed. It took Velocity two trips to determine the cause for this failure was due to poor welding on the coolant line. Next, the evaporator coil was the next to go when the unit was 1.5 years old. The technician came to replace it and his workmanship was poor, the company and its owner are incompetent.

We called Velocity to come back out and they sent the same technician that did a minimal effort to correct his shoddy install. Two months later the AC is not working again. We called another AC repair and were told the current problem was due to the improper install of the evaporator coil.

We have called Velocity; written to them and filed with the BBB all in the hopes of working this out amicably. Velocity claims they'll come out to fix their botched work ONLY if we pay for a service call. They simply refuse to do the right thing, which is not surprising given their pitiful reputation. I just wish I would have known and looked up reviews before we wasted money.

Let this story be your cautionary tale. Do not use Velocity, the owner obviously does not respect people and takes ripping people off as a game.

This company Velocity Air Conditioning will do anything to try and fool the next customer and scam them all the way to the bank and back. Check their BBB rating and also other sources. The company is an outright fraud. Whoever the owner is, must be a coward to steal from people and think its ok.

I am re posting my review. I was told if I take down my 1 star review I would receive a check in the mail for a full refund. I guess I fell for it. I was promised by the service manager that he would personally drop the check in the mail and e- mail me when it was done. That was weeks ago.

I called the office and was told the check is in the mail, that was a while ago. Maybe the owner will call me next. Now I understand why I only see 5 star reviews So I guess refund or no refund people need to know and make there own choice.

My review stated, By the way your company is a rip off. Cleaning the drain is $150 with others and you charged me $271. I decided to get a second opinion and had another company come out to check my coil and was told it was not necessary to pull it out and clean it at this time. He showed me a photo of mine and a dirty one, there was a big difference. You were coming out and charging me $850 and he was going to do it for $500. He also told me my drain was not fully cleaned and had to do it again.

This company is nothing but trouble. Get anyone else to come out, all they do is lie. The award in the picture they are giving must be an award for who can cheat and lie to customers the most.

In the response to my review, Velocity Air Conditioning says "the company I called isn't even in business. Well... the truth is... Velocity owns the phone number for the company I called. Velocity answers the phone number I called. So, when I called to get a quote, I thought I was talking to a different AC company. They are LYING about the company being out of business... because the phone number is one of their own numbers. They are lying about listening to the call... because I "actually" know what I said.

They are also LYING about the technician not knowing I wanted the advertised price. Basically, there is nothing they said that isn't a complete LIE. Now I'm going to report both companies that they own to the Better Business Bureau, and find other places I can report their disingenuous, disrespectful, and false advertising to. They are NOT AC experts, they are scammers and cheat people out of money daily. These are fake pictures and arent even of their technicians, the technicians they have stink and are shady, letting them in your home is dicey.

Rude staff, they didn't give me the price advertised at time of making appointment. The day they were sending technician (late) they basically told me I wasn't getting the price I was quoted. After a back and forth on text, I eventually cancelled due to their disrespectful implication that I was stupid for expecting the price I was quoted by phone. These are people who cannot be trusted.

Avoid getting lied to and scammed please read. I called velocity air to use a coupon I received in the mail. The coupon was for maintenance and included 1lb of freon and a cleaning of the condenser coils. The tech Jason Hudson came just before 5 and my appointment was 1-3, things happens so, I understand. Jason went up in the attic and came back down and walked inside the house without a knock and he knew I was in the shower as my girlfriend who originally aswered the door informed him after he asked to speak to me.

So he stated we have mold and showed us pictures.he tried selling us a complete new system with UV lights. He then walked back out and I started to think the pictures he showed us were not of our own system. He said he was going to be a bit longer as he finished the maintenance. I had an uneasy feeling the next morning and checked my surveillance cameras to find Jason did NOT put any freon in nor did he clean the coils.

I watched the camera as he went back and forth to his car and only taking out pressure gauges to check the pressure and a paper. I had the pictures sent over to me as well and the pictures indeed are NOT of my system. Jason H from velocity took the money and a tip I gave him after "completing" his job. So if you don't like to be screwed over I recommend you stay away from this company, the owner seems to operate the business like a dirty grifter. I wish i would have read the reviews because it seems they rip off women and the elderly.

In December 30,2018 our AC unit began acting up. We were out of town and used Angie's list to find an AC tech. My daughter was able to let the tech in while we headed home. The tech determined that our 5 year old AC unit, needed to be replaced. It was still under warranty but, they told me it was a known problematic, unit. I purchased the new unit & financed it through them.

Full payment was made in December 31,2018. The unit was installed on January 2,2019. A couple days after it was installed, it stopped working. They sent a guy out who had zero clues on fixing anything. This guy killed the power to my entire house. He then, proceeded to leave, without a word. I went outside to see what the issue was. He was in his van, backing out of my driveway. I had to get someone to come out to fix that. Then, it failed inspection.

Once we finally got it all fixed, it did work well. Fast forward, 2 years later, the AC no longer works. It's under warranty but they want $1500 to install. Still dealing with the issues they caused. This company is trash.

Velocity Air Conditioning lies! Military Veteran disabled! This company took advantage of my elderly mother. She used the special they advertised! Breakdown coverage and she got it serviced. It broke down the next day! The next day! They broke it. New company said they overloaded the freon and broke the entire system. Wow! Then they said they cannot come service it again ans it wasn't there fault. Wow! 100+ degree weather. Velocity is pitiful for taking advantage of the elderly! Ridiculous!

Company said it would not cause the breakdown. However it completely broke the next day. They sit there and lie like fools. Owner * seems like a jerk! It's not the person forking out thousands of dollars. It's the company that serviced the AC unit and it broke completely the next day! I'm telling you, you have to be careful when dealing with these kinds of money hungry people. They will say anything to get that money.

They have the nerve to pretend they didnt break it. CALL ANYONE else and get it fixed right. These people will cost you a lot of money!

There is a post by a guy named Fred on BBB dated July 19,2022 that sounds way too familiar. We had Velocity install a new AC and Heat Pump. Prior to installation the installer recommended we had to "build a bigger space to get the heat pump/air handler in the space so they could pass inspection and gain access to the coils in the future".

The Velocity Service Manager recommended "Their Guy" who does a lot of their work. Well..."Their Guy" was inept at his job to say the least. He cut a hole in our hallway wall and destroyed the closet behind it with a wall that he built. When Velocity was called numerous times, I finally got a call back from the Service Manager. I was told they would send out a New Guy to fix the framing and wall. That never happened and that same service manager informed me that they weren't going to cover the cost to make it right a few weeks later. I told the same service manager that I would be posting on Social Media what a Garbage company they ARE and I would be finding someone else to service the unit in the future. I also told this so called manager that he can keep his warranty and that's a great way to do business. An hour later, that same Service Manager called me back and told me that he spoke to his boss, the owner who I looked up and is named *, and they would send or bring me a check to cover the cost to repair the wall and the closet because they know they messed it up.

His caveat to that was that they wanted me to Sign a Form stating that I would not post anything negative about their company. That to me is Extortion. (Look up that word Service Manager). Your going to pay me Hush money and have me sign something? I don't think so. DO NOT DO business with this Company. They do not stand behind anything they say or do and then want to blame a subcontractor that they recommended. The Service Manager told me to "Go after Him" he is not an employee of Velocity. The owner * is obviously a thief and liar who has no integrity. Stay Away from this company! There is a reason their not accredited by the BBB!

After just purchasing our home we were immediately forced to purchase a whole new HVAC system. At first (prior to making the sale) customer service was prompt and curteous, fast forward to after we have the unit installed ($6,500 later). The AC worked fine from April 2022. However the very first time we needed to run the heat

No luck. We called, they came out after 9:00 p.m (we had a 2 year old daughter in the home. They then replaced the heating element. AC runs as it is supposed to through the 2nd hot season since we purchased it, once again though the heat DID NOT. After dealing with snarky customer service people, someone else came out to again, tell us the heating element needed replaced AGAIN.THE SAME PART THEY REPLACED THE YEAR PRIOR! Only now we are going to have to pay a service fee of well over $400 dollars. Despite the fact that it is clearly faulty equipment they sold us, despite having paid almost $7000 for the unit that never worked properly, despite having a small child in the home, we had to pay.

We have made NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS to reach the supervisor but he does not take our calls and does not return our calls. This is the same gentleman that told us last year he would come and fix it himself if we had the same problem again, talk about blowing smoke up someone's rear end.

We are a hard working, family who pays our bills and stand by our word. We believe in integrity and following through with your word when you give it to someone, especially as a business owner. We've since started using a wood burning stove to warm our home. The owner Tyler Snyder is a liar and has no integrity. No one trying to make it right and no one showing any regard for our daughter, our well being during cold fronts and the financial hit we've taken only to have the wool pulled over our eyes. Just shameful. Find a company with integrity that stands by their work, unless you've got very deep pockets and lots of patience.

I would avoid this company like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Six months after installing a new system, my 82 year old mother was quoted $3,000 by Velocity air conditioning to fix the ducts. The new systems itself cost $5,500 and one would think Velocity would have detected a problem with the airflow prior to signing off on the job.

Again, my mother is 82 years old and was suffering through 90+ degree temperatures in her home. The repairman came out and said it was too hot for him to further inspect/fix anything. Velocity air conditioning is attempting to take advantage of an elderly woman; one who lost her husband a while back.

In addition, when my mother asked for the repairman's photos, Velocity said he didn't have any. In this day and age, what serviceman doesn't take photos of a problem?

Lastly, the Velocity air condition serviceman said he "banged on the door to talk to my mom". This is absolutely false as her dog would have barked loudly to protect her. This is yet another example of Velocity's inconsiderate and rude customer support and lack of concern for someone's health. This company seems to love taking advantage of elderly people. Upon looking further into the company the owner's name is *, goes by * and sometimes *.

I also learned he also runs a company called solar max which is some kind of company that installs solar panels for people's houses. I looked up that company too and turns out they rip people off just the same. This is how they do business across the board. Both of these companies solar max and velocity air conditioning have a lot of people with similar bad experiences as my mother.

Seems like just a no good unscrupulous person who cares only about making money at any cost and doesn't mind ripping off elderly people as long as it means that he will make money. So buyer Beware, 2 companies 1 scammer.

There are more reputable and caring companies out there; I would highly recommend hiring a Velocity air conditioning competitor.

Bad experience with them. They are over price on parts and labor. The first visit, they told me it was a bad breaker and that would cost $487 to fix, $270 for the breaker, which you can by at Home Depot for $22 and $217 for labor. They didn't have the part, so they had to come back the next day.

A different guy came back and replace breaker and that didn't work. Now they told me it was the fan motor and capacitor that wasn't working and it would cost me $1140 to fix and get it running in 2 hours with a deal of annual maintenance included.

They told me they had the parts at the time. I agreed to it and paid. Bad on my part. They call me back and told me that they have to order it and ship it over night and they will be back the next day to install. The next day came with a different guy, they install the fan motor and capacitor. Didn't work. Now they tell me we have to change the AC unit and that would cost $7000, just for the AC unit outside.

They told me that they felt bad and would discount me the cost of the fan motor and capacitor with additional discount coming to $5200. At this point I don't trust them. I've requested a refund on the fan motor and capacitor and wanted to find another AC repair company to get a second opinion.

They told me that the fan motor and capacitor is not refundable. So basically, I lost $1140 for a unfix AC unit. Another AC repair company quoted me half the price of the $5200 to replace the AC unit outside and now I have a brand new fan motor and capacitor that I can't use, unless I get the exact same AC unit that is broke and outdated.

Velocity Air Condition is a scam. They did 6 out of 7 of these scams from this site - http://www.hotpointheating.com/HVACMaintenanceTips/AvoidScams. Now, I'm not trying to promote this website, but when I was researching AC repair companies. I came across this website and thought it was helpful.
