I always debate whether I can list an item for sale without an appraisal... I never get it right on my own. I just found some jewelry that I couldn't find anywhere to compare but was going to guess at what I thought it might be worth. I found out I was way off on just what it was... and way off on how much I thought it was worth. I am glad I got them appraised... as I would have looked so unprofessional listing them as I had planned and for too high a price.
**note to whoever sees this. I have a real hard time putting out a new review. It keeps updating an old review with old photos. I had to go in and delete the previous reviews photos to match the new review. Shoudn't have to keep doing this unless you are only allowed to leave one review.
Difficult to progress through the site. Entries weren't recognized/recorded properly. Quite frustrating. However the response time of the appraisal report was as promised. Appreciated feedback and thorough explanation of the appraisal comments.
So i had ambrotypes of a man and son in portrait that resemble abraham lincoln and son william and you all responded with 'their is no evidence that this is abraham lincoln and son'. Which is a cop out answer of low intelligence and low effort. I mean open your eyes. Do a transparency overlay comparison. This may be an american treasure and you dismiss out of laziness.
I sent photos of a one of a kind acid etching on a brass sheet, titled Black Madonna. Their aapprauser sent back an evaluation od $20 to $40. Their appraisers are a joke. Don't waste your $15.00. Wouldn't have them appraise anything going forward. Total incompetency.
Dear Richard,
Thank you for your review and I'm very sorry to hear you were unhappy with your report. Our estimates are based on comparable works that have sold at auction, which may be why the values are modest but if you'd like to email us with your concerns we can absolutely liaise with the specialist for you.
Best wishes, Charlotte
I absolutely love this company. It saves me time in trying to figure out the value of my items. The response time is quick and efficient. Will continue to use them.
Appraisal spot on, had several emails back and forth from a very courteous lady named Ruth, wish I'd had a little more information, such as country of origin, but did find this item to be a reproduction cast iron garden fence back, panel, probably dating 1980's from China, still being sold today, thank you for answering all my inquiries, best regards, Janet
I am normally not one to complain, but this needs to be addressed. I have item made of Jade, from the 12-15 centuries. Knowing the appraised value, cost, history, I decided to let this website value my piece, just to see the valuation, and to test them on their abilities and procedures. The results Value my Stuff gave me were NOT comparable to the valuation I have received when I bought the item from a reputable dealer. Value my Stuff, under valued and lack history on my Piece. I have had other items reviewed by this website, that now throws all these items values into question (WHAT?) Obviously, the people responsible lack the experience to do appraisals. I would NOT RECOMMEND using this service to anyone, who want honest appraisals
Hello Stanley,
We would like to copy in our specialist's comments that we have already sent over to you, regarding your concerns:
"The piece in question does from the photographs look like a 19th-century item, the problem I have is not handling the item and closely examining the carving. The idea that it dates from the 12-15th century seems very vague as one is Song and the other Ming, the carving techniques and interpretation of objects being different in those dynasties. If the piece is of the Ming period the item would be worth 1200-1800 auction estimate and if Song 1500-2000. The figure I put on it was for a 19th-century carving and from the photographic evidence, I would adhere to that appraisal. I might suggest you have an independent Museum authenticity certificate which would be of help to both resale purposes and future collectors."
We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied on this occasion but wish you all the best.
Best wishes,
VMS
The valuation told me about the history of the type of item. It made clear that my example is not antique but was also clear that it is vintage. The valuator also gave an opinion about the item's presentation which is useful and reassuring. This valuator seems to understand what the submitter would find helpful.

Money well spent from the advice given by the professional advisors. Thank you.
I am pleased with the in depth knowledge and advice given by the professional appraisers in their respective chosen field's.
I received my valuation/appraisal within 48 hours as promised and it was well detailed.
It was easy and the valuation seemed reasonable for something sold at auction.
I checked my bank account. The appraisal money was paid on 13th October 2022. I sent a complaint email. I get a reply to prompt me to submit an appraisal. Surely! They don't expect me to pay again for the same evaluation. I have not received an appraisal yet. It was been almost 2 weeks since I paid you. The appraisal was for an Eternamatic 3003 vintage gold watch.

Very happy to review & see availability of different items.
I've had two items appraised. One of them was an autograph book that was appraised at $1k-2k, and the other was a Hummel that used to be valuable but now is $50. I appreciate the honesty about the Hummel.
Requested a valuation on a picture, sent photographs, description and paid the fee. This was on 1st August 2010 and they said I would have valuation in 48hrs. It is now August 10th and I have had no valuation and get no response when either I chase up the valuation or request my money back
Sadly the team had not seen the item I placed for a valuation before and couldn't give a price. If they had done some research they will have seen them in a museum. I was told the Japanese assessor said it was not Japanese. They are in the museum of Tokyo and Okinawa so he doesn't really know much. Minimal information other than what was originally provided. No reference to historical significance, especially with the Director of Publicity Scrapbook items, even after mentioning that the Historical Society of the NY Stock Exchange is very interested in these scrapbooks.
I needed an appraisal on a painting for a lawsuit, I'm not looking to sell it but needed an idea of what it was worth to see if it would be included in a lawsuit and I got what I needed for a reasonable price.
Thank you for your positive feedback Christina. We are delighted to have had the opportunity of being of service to you on such an important matter.

Had two items appraised by this group. One was way higher than expected, while the other was much lower. However, their explanations were very thorough, realistic and made lots of sense.
