I was hoping the painting could go to auction. As a professional artist, being listed is important for sales. Auction sales are important to being listed. Unfortunately, the "Do you want to sell" button was not live. Disappointing.
The process was extremely easy and user friendly. The uploading of pics went smoothly. The appraisal certificate was full of interesting information as well as price range and estimated insurance value.
I was not happy with the appraisal very pore description of what it was. Did not give a date when it could have been produced, did not explain the metal piece on the bottom of the item i do not believe that it is a little girls purse. The appraisal also said the items in the picture did not fit inside the purse but they did.
First time ever having art appraised and it was items that I had limited knowledge. I received responses within time that was mentioned. The level of detail was thorough and helped me understand the items.
Thank you for your positive feedback Susan. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to share our knowledge and expertise with you.
We are sorry not to have been able to offer a range as to authenticity. Unfortunately with so many forgeries on the market, this is difficult to determine.

It was thorough. I'm disappointed however because it indicated that the vase was more of a Japanese replica of satsuma and not a real one so it was valued at the cost of the appraisal which is a bummer
I ordered a valuation/appraisal. Although I was not aware that it was ready for download, after getting a confirmation message via email, I went to the site and discovered it was finished. Thank you for the report and I look forward to seeing if I can sell it.
Thank you

I was going through some treasures to pass along to the grandchildren and wished to keep value's approximately the same for each. The process was surprisingly simple and I was pleased with lengthy descriptions and history that was reported along with valuation.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are passionate about our service and pleased to have been able to share so much insight on your treasures with you.
We hope to have the opportunity of being of service to you again.

I have had maybe six valuations recently for probate purposes. Whilst Rate my Stuff do not provide probate valuations I have used the auction valuations as a starting point. Concise appraisals based on previous auction results. I did have one very specialised item to value being a Radio Controlled model Aircraft and I was amazed at the knowlege of the accesor who obviously was an expert and had not just based on a Google search. Foe me good service and very good value.
I was very happy working with ValueMyStuff company. They replied to my emails with questions very fast and they were very nice.
I am also very happy with the appraisal and information they gave me.
Thank you!
Thank you for your kind review Halina. We are delighted to have been of such satisfactory service and hope to have the pleasure of working with you again.

I appreciated the timely feedback. I also appreciated the accurate assessment, both what the appraiser was knowledgeable about, what they could provide limited information about, and what they would suggest if I wanted further information.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are passionate about sharing our knowledge and hope to have the opportunity of working with you again soon.

From the time I submitted an appraisal request to when I received the findings, the staff at ValueMyStuff have been exemplary. Well, the fact is I've only communicated with one person, and she is Ruth. What I appreciate most about her is the humanity with which she carries out her work.
Thank you for your kind feedback Raul. It was our pleasure to be of service to you. We hope very much to have the pleasure again soon.

The process is very user-friendly. The cost seems to be reasonable.
I'm writing because I hire Value My Stuff to help my family to appraise some needlepoint art that we have no idea of the value.
Because I have no e expertises at all on antique field when I send them the pictures I had no idea of what I was doing.
I contact them to ask for support and they are very responsive and helpful.
Thanks so much for your time and effort to help me out.
I sent them a common pre-columbian bowl to evaluate and then also sent the bowl to a well known Doctor of art history to evaluate it also. The art history doctor correctly identified the item as a 500~800 year old pre-columbian bowl. This company however, dated it as a 20th century reproduction. I tried to show them the error they made by providing them the report from the other appraiser and they refused to give me a refund and had enough nerve to say the other appraiser, an art history doctor, professor, who's appeared on the history channel multiple times and does year round evaluations around the country, was wrong!
This company is a total joke and I'd avoid them. There's better services for the same price.
Dear Anthony,
Thank you for your review which we were expecting from your messages. We have already responded to your concerns several times during protracted private correspondence, however, I will reiterate our points below for clarity.
I am sorry you are disappointed with our appraisal, upon receiving one of higher value, however that does not mean ours is incorrect. The appraisal of any work of art is always a matter of opinion and these can vary significantly between specialists. Dr. Lori’s report, which you kindly provided us with, states the following: "The online appraisal represents the opinion of the appraiser, Dr. Lori ( www.DrLoriV.com). The online appraisal is not an in-person authentication nor is it a guarantee of sale." The report also states that the value is pending upon authentication. Therefore, I am afraid this cannot be used as any proof of authenticity.
I am able to offer my assurance that our specialist has many years of experience in the field as a Director of Pre-Columbian Art at Sotheby’s, upon which she has based her appraisal, along with the images and information provided. At no point have we suggested Dr. Lori was incorrect, nor have we have expressed any doubt in their expertise. We very much hope your item is authentic and worth more than we have stated, as we always prefer to bring our clients better news. However, we cannot significantly alter the values we have given without any further evidence, this would be deeply unprofessional and goes against the integrity of our service.
We can fully appreciate your disappointment, however, we are not able to offer refunds simply on the basis of another online appraisal; this is an all too prevalent occurrence in the world of art and auctioneering. A sales price realized, or even the results of a first-hand inspection which definitively stated that the piece was authentic, would be the criteria under which we would offer a refund.
We are sorry you were disappointed on this occasion but we wish you all the best.
Regards,
VMS
I needed information on a piece that originated in England. As it was Easter I was not expecting the 48hour service advertised but my report arrived on Easter Sunday! I was most impressed and have no hesitation in recommending this professional service.
It was easy to follow the directions to send the information to get my stuff valued.

1st time using Value My Stuff,Thanks,a pic I goggled of the mirror valued $3,800,so do I have a copy VMS dated it's contemporary mirror
I did probided pictures of signature and was not even mention in appraisal who is the maker. I was able to find more info myself and potential value of the item the was provided by this " appraisal", not satisfy at all
I had an appraisal made of a wonderful Dogogn ritual vessel that I inherited from a famous collection. The "experts" from ValueMyStuff categorised it as a mass-produced item and valued it at $200. I got a new appraisal from AfricaMarket and the sculpture was valued at $1000-$2000.
I can only advise against these false estimates, you get ripped off and still have to pay £27 for it. Better go to Sotheby's, Christies or Catawiki.
Hi Christian,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We appreciate your perspective and understand the importance of accurate appraisals, especially for items with sentimental and historical significance.
We apologise that our appraisal did not align with your expectations. Please know that our team is dedicated to providing thorough and honest assessments, although we understand that different appraisers may assign varying values based on their unique perspectives and market considerations.
We took your concerns seriously and asked the expert for a second look. Unfortunately, the expert maintains their stance that this is a commercial piece. We understand this may be disappointing, and we want to assure you that we value your satisfaction.
If there are specific details or further information you would like to discuss regarding the appraisal, we are more than happy to assist.
