1p for each dvd what the actual word.
About 15 years back it use to be like 50p to £1 a dvd
I remember this as a friend made like £300 on 3 huge bags of dvds. I have loads of dvds no way am I taking them to CEX to get like a £1. What has happened. I got more from another site.
Sort your self's out CEX. PLUS TURN THE FREAKING MUSIC DOWN YOUR NOT A NIGHTCLUB.
Tried to claim a console i purchased off them as Boxed (and havent used since buying it has sat in the box as I never got round to opening it) is now graded as Discounted as it has a small scratch on it...
So they sold as in VGC and are trying to buy it back without me touching it as in dreadful condition.
SCAMMERS DO NOT USE
Staff also have no idea what they are doing - on a separate order I tried to trade in a EA sports road rash II mega drive game and their retro guy tried to tell me it weas American as it had a yellow plastic clip on it... THEY ALL HAVE THIS.
Bought an iPhone 6 in December 2017 for my daughter (cash payment), it stopped working within a week so took it back, gave me an iPhone 6s as replacement and wavered the extra cost (sounds good) iPhone 6s stopped working also so returned back to another cex shop(closer to home) and was told I couldn't have a refund in cash only a voucher to spend in store. I refused and I'm taking this further. I Wouldn't buy as much as a pencil from that place. STAY AWAY FROM CEX. I've rated them 1 star only because I had to rate them but they don't deserve 1.
Hi, I was reading reviews of this company. Very seldom, did I see a good comment.
Some time ago, when computer memory was pricey ( RAM or Random access memory), I had some to sell, but I took it into one of thier stores, and after extensive testing, I was told that it had a fault, so they gave me the offer of a fraction of the price, of what it was worth, or said they would part buy the working RAM sticks. I knew I had tested the memory on a test rig, I had at home, and it passed all tests, so I felt that was going to be a rip off for me. In the end, I went back to the store, initially they said they'd lost my memory, but I didn't sell it in the end, gained it back and sold to a freind, who used it for ages, without issue.
These people just scam you, say things are broken, then offer a fraction of the value of your goods, avoid at all costs.
If there is a good ending, I learned all about hardware and became a hardware technician. Offering a level of customer service in computer servicing and repairs, that a company like CEX could never aspire too. So happy days for me and my clients.
Please do your research, and try other retailers, For all things PC. I would recommend Scan Systems in Bolton or Novatech in Portchester.
I spent £68 on 2 games and 2 controllers and none of them work!
Don't you check the products before you sell them on for profit?!?
I was looking online, for cheap games for my Xbox 360 as I can't affors much as I'm only 12 but I got 7 really cool but the coolest game is definitely WWE which was 3 pounds and I got all the games with my Mum games for about 20 pounds and it's amazing CEX is such an amazing business and has really helped me and I will probably come back soon as I need a upgrade.
Thanks Ethan Franklin.
CEX has never let me down ever... it has the friendleist staff who will always help you make the right decisions on consols E. T. C. They also have a huge variaty of games from brand new to the timeless classics it all so has dvds i hugely admire the concept of CEX it is efectivly a black market for gamers of all genres and has exilent choice and i have never been let down or dissipointed when visiting CEX and it desevres more than its current rating so if u go out to buy or sell games CEX is definetly the place to go
When they say box it means everything in the box they say not just box! Just be warn. It's a joke of a company they even send the wrong items out as well online.
I had a job interview today with Cex and it was half and hour away from me. This is my second retail job so I was lowkey nervous but prepared. Obviously as it's another place it took me a while to get used to the buses real time but even before this I was prepared. Then I came to the interview I was nervous like really nervous to the point where I had to pause and take a moment as I suffer with social anxiety so when it comes to situations like this it triggers me more. So after I've composed myself I went into the store as my interview was at 3pm and I was at the town for a good 20 mins I went into the store like 2 mins after as it was raining and the shop was lowkey a walk. I go in and there's this neek with glasses starting at me as I walk in cos the shop was empty. Then I go to the counter and tell them I have an interview. From the second I walked in I could tell the "manager" didn't like me she gave me a weird look and then cancelled my interview saying I was "3 mins late". Obviously I was upset because I travelled like an hour to get here just for me to be turned away cos I was 3 mins late and only just about…I would understand if I was 5 minutes late but 3 minutes is a joke I even tried to explain to her it's my first time coming here on my own and she's over here talking about other people turned up 15 mins early. I know if I did that they'd turn me away. Honestly I'm glad I didn't get interviewed the manager looked like and seemed like a $#*! and it looks like a bunch of anime neeks working there and it already stunk from the moment I walked in avoid cex!
Bought a phone on the 26th of January 2017 from the Sauchiehall street branch. I had it a week and realised that it was not connecting to a network automatically and I had to manually reconnect to my network. This was no good to me so I bought another phone. I took the phone back to the shop today 17/1/2018 and was told that they would test the phone and could I come back into the store 2 hours later. I went back to the store and was informed that despite them not being able to loose a signal and test what I said was the problem on the phone and that the phone was working fine. I had a verbal exchange with the manageress who instead of listening to reason stated that as she could not lose a signal despite trying 3 different sim cards that the phone was fine and became very aggressive and started swearing and offering me £60 in vouchers instead of £60 in cash which was how I originally paid. The phone was within the 30 day cash back policy and it was faulty so any reasonable person should and would have expected their cash back. What kind of business cannot diagnose a fault, tell you that they cannot diagnose a fault and still deny you your rights? I asked to speak to someone above this very angry young upstart but she point blank refused. I would advise that anyone thinking of buying a phone from this company to really think long and hard about doing it as you will probably end up with a phone that does not work properly and out of pocket!
In April I sent my I phone 8 to C ex after getting an estimate of £208 as it was in mint condition and had never been used without a case and protector screen. After a week contacted them and was told that the phone was being regraded and the offer was now £133 without an explanation. After enquiring was told that there were deep scratches of the face of the phone. I told them that that was not possible as I had taken a picture of the phone before sending it and it showed no damage. The tried to say their engineers were trained and would not damage a phone and suggested it may have occurred in transit. I had packed the phone in two separate boxes and there is no way that would occur. They asked for photos of the phone which I gave them and after e mails back and forward they now ask again for photos and are clearly delaying matters. I have informed them I will contact trading standards and the police re damage to my property. I have since had to sell the phone at a large loss as there is a scratch on the screen. Do not deal with this crowd.
Some of the best first line service Ive received. Phil (Guildford Manager) was exceptionally helpful following a troubled bitcoin transaction. Definitely recommend. Thanks
Where do i start on the absolute shambles of an experience i had selling a console. First up was the 'no money' lie which went something like 'im sorry sir £65 is a rediculous amount of money for a store to have in a till, we need to send it via bank transfer' to which i inquired about the processing time where in comes the second wave of bull, 'since its a thursday if your lucky tomorrow but probably monday', i could have lived with that but lets keep going. Obviously my bank account was still empty friday so flash forward to monday... nothing, thought about phoning them to find out after a little google search they have no instore phone lines and there facebook is overflowing with unhappy customers, what a great choice i had made, what about tuesday... nothing, maybe wednesday? Nothing, its got to be thursday right? Empty, a new email though 'we tried to phone you, your console has failed testing' i check my phone to see no new numbers have called or tried to call me this week while also thinking if there ever was a time my console even froze nevermind didnt work, but alas no time popped to mind.
My advice? Go read one of the many pages where unhappy customers are building up on and realise you need to go somewhere else
I took 1 train to Liverpool street station the Elisabeth line to Whitechapel station. Cex is just next to exit of the tube.

I had been shopping around for a decently priced graphics card to use in my pc, i finally settled on a gtx 980ti. After waiting a week for my card i put it in my pc and made sure everything thing was working... but my pc didnt post. After a couple more trys I smelt burning coming from my PC. The card was on fire. I turned off my pc and put out the fire before discovering a slightly gooey substance on the motherboard of the card. I realised someone tryed severley overclocking the card and when it came close to failing, they must have sold it. Dont believe the crap about them testing everything works before sending it out... they dont.
Awful. Sent wrong disc. Fair enough. Used my time to print the return stuff. Great. But no reply given to me, just refunded when i was told the correct disc would be sent out once returned. Like i wasent worth their time
So is that what you do? Send special edition boxes but just insert any discs you please and hope they dont notice and be all nicey nice but once you issue your redund thats it sorted when you didnt even request it, well i hope you dont plan on sending wrong disc and correct box to some other victum. Would not surprise me. DO NOT USE ONLINE. YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER WITH £ NEXT TO IT.
My 13 year old step son wanted to sell a couple of games to raise a few quid. However, due to lockdown he has had to send them in via post. I explained that he should send it via signed and recorded delivery for peace of mind but being an impatient 13 year old year he couldn't wait a day for me to go to post office with them so decided to send them right away by normal post.
That was 3 weeks ago and we haven't heard a thing from them. The address was wrote out perfect and had 3 1st class stamps on it and only weighed about 70 grams. (He weighed to check it was within postal regs) obviously it could of got lost in the post but the chances are that it made it there but because it wasn't a recorded delivery someone has decided to instead steal it.
Stealing from a 13 year old child - unbelievable
MAKE SURE ALL ITEMS ARE SENT VIA SIGNED AND RECORDED DELIVERY! ******* - thats the order ID if anyone from cex is reading this and cares enough to investigate for my step son. If so, i thank you.
The staff were friendly but the work done on my PS4 I took in there for repair is awful. They told me I should have it back in about 10 days but it took that long to leave the shop for the repair centre. I had to go in after a week of giving it to them to ask why nothing had happened. That was the second time I had to go back. The first time was because the staff member who originally served me forgot to give me a form that they needed. It finally came back to the shop unrepaired which I could have lived with if it had not been in worse condition than it was before. There was no problem with the gameplay before sending it off jut the picture quality. Now they've put it in safe mode and it won't even work enough to let me do anything about it. I can't get on it to get my game data off because they somehow made it worse than it already was. Thankfully they didn't charge me for it but I lost three and a half weeks waiting for it back. If I had known it was a lost cause beforehand I wouldn't have bothered. If I have any more problems with my PS4 or computer in the future then I would not bring it here. I would even travel further away just to get the problem fixed.
Brought a Samsung GALAXY S4 for £105 in May 2018, hardly used the phone as it was for work. In August 2018 the phone then stated out of the blue that it had no sim. The sim card was in place and hadn't been touched. I took the phone back to the CEX shop in Guildford Surrey where i purchased it as it had a 24 month warranty. They took the phone and sent me away for 40 minutes while they checked it. When i came back they said the warranty was void as there was a tiny crack in the rear external case of the phone. I explained that this has nothing to do with the Sim card not registering and then they showed me some bent pins where the sim card goes and said that i have bent the pins and that is why it doesn't work. I was furious as i had not bent the pins, I hadn't touched the sim card - why would I? Anyway the store manager basically called me a liar and said the phone will not be covered as it is accidental damage. There is no customer service phone number to contact CEX, i will never use this company again, this is the one and only experience that i have had with them.

Answer: Go to resolver.co.uk and make a complaint against CeX, they will take it more seriously
Answer: B grade should mean operational but will have visible signs of use, I would avoid and buy on ebay probably get a nearly new one that hasn't been through the hands of muppits
Answer: Unlocked simply tells you whether or not a product is open to all networks or locked to a specific one. For example, if a product states EE/Virgin/3 then it will be locked to that specific network, if however it says unlocked or any network you are able to put any service provider into that product. The A and B seen in the product description is a way pf grading the phone and stating what condition it is considered to be in. A grade is the best grade possible for a phone/table/laptop/camera. This means that it should be immaculate and have all of its original accessories. B grade is considered used and may have some general wear and tear marks, which will not affect the usage pf the product. It may not have its original accessories but will come with anything that is required to allow use the product properly.
