We've used Trusted Housesitters three times now with 3 different sitters and couldn't be more happy with the outcome. It was rather scary to try at first but each time we had sitters who came early and got to know us and our dog and each did a wonderful job. Highly recommend them.

I have been housesitting for more than 5 years around the world and this year I decided to subscribe to trustedhousesitter. The dishonesty of the company became apparent from the beginning: the 30% coupon discount suddenly became 25%, the enrolling process took several days because their platform is poorly working. I was invited for a housesit of 2 months in Costa Rica during high season in the Guanacaste area, Playa Coyote, by an Italian and German couple. Four days before the start of the assignment they canceled the sit without reason. Since I refused other invites to housesit, I was left with no alternative but to book an expensive accommodation. After reporting the facts to the helpdesk of trustedhousesitter, they replied that they would not take any action against the home owners.
Troustedhousitter is a company that invests most of its earning in marketing, buying advertisement on popular newspapers, supporting featured content and paying reviewers and bloggers to write well about them. This company destroyed a beautiful free exchange relationship between sitter and home owner, making money out of it. Their review system prevent housesitters from truly expressing their opinion on the home owners because they would receive a negative review in retaliation. There is absolutely no validation of the home owner and the fear of the housesitter to be banned from the site makes them slave of the home owners.
Trusted Housesitters has increased our appreciation of local areas around the world by living there. It has opened up opportunities to live in place that we otherwise would not have found. Free accommodation and a well equipped kitchen have made extensive travel affordable for us, with an emotional boost by bonding with dogs and cats.
Bridget and her family were very kind and welcoming! Rosie is a delightful kitty, she loved laying by in the pool and soaking up the sun, and in the evenings we cuddled and Netflix. Highly recommend this house sit as it is very comfortable, close to shops and not far from the centre of Auckland.

This was a great house sit! The three dogs were entertaining and kept us laughing with their antics. Elizabeth left us very detailed instructions for their care and had all the materials clearly labeled and organized. The apartment was comfortable and secure, and located conveniently near the Metro subway station so we were able to easily travel to the sights we wanted to see. Elizabeth even extended the sit another day in advance so that we had a place to stay, as we arrived in DC a day early. (We were concerned about possible flight delays and didn't want to leave the dogs unattended.) She opened her kitchen to us and left plenty of treats for us and the dogs! We would highly recommend this sit!
We have been very impressed with this service. At times we have not been able to find a sitter and have had to use other paid services such as Rover, but the quality of people through here has far out-weighed any other paid service. We have also saved so much money and feel better that we can have people in our home who want a place to stay in exchange for watching our pets and house.
Though it wasn't a good start for me when I first used the site, its been a wonderful experience so far. On my first experience, my sitter canceled on me last minute. Then I ended up with a mediocre sitter to replaced that last minute cancellation. From that experience, I wanted to stop using the site. However, I somehow changed my mind and gave it another shot. From then on, its been a blast! I've been loving the sitters I ended up booking. The site has been a life saver to me! Definitely a clever invention!

We've had three sitters stay at our home and care for our two dogs. I've been satisfied with the sitters and ensure that our communication is clear and consistent before I leave on vacation. I appreciate having someone at the house so the dogs don't have to be boarded. However, there may be occasions where the sitter has to cancel. Although this hasn't happened to me, I am prepared to have them go to a kennel if there are problems before, or during our vacation.
I was highly skeptical of this housesitter business... and I was highly doubtful that I would find someone at the very last minute for a month-long sit... but rest assured you can trust this service: I had 2 sitters interested, which surprised me... and although I was nervous to have a complete stranger in the house, I was thoroughly surprised at how caring my sitter was. We came home to a completely clean house and a very calm pet. Can't say enough good things about this service. Use it with confidence! Thank you, TrustedHousesitters!
When we were planning a trip, we worried about our home and our animals. We have used a paid cat sitter in the past who neglected our animals. We decided to try Trusted House Sitters and it worked out wonderfully. The people we interviewed were all lovely, the people we selected were everything we could have wanted and as a result, our trip was even more enjoyable.
Penny is a lovely cat, nice and cuddly likes lots of attention which I was delighted to provide. Her mom Lindsay and her partner are kind and helpful. Location is convenient, just 15 minutes walk from a large shopping centre or you can take a bus just outside the door that will take you there or in to Central Perth. Really enjoyed the sit could have stayed for at least a month!
I have used this website service many times, it is fantastic. My Dog and my house have been very well looked after by all the people we have had sit for us, we have first timers to well experienced sitters. We have made good friends with several of the sitters. I have recommended this website to many people, some have actually used it, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
We have four well loved dogs and two cats. Because of this, traveling has always been complicated. Trusted Housitters has solved this for us and provides us with great piece of mind while we are away from our Furkids. Whishnwe had found them sooner!

This service connects people who live in a particular place and are traveling with people who want to visit that particular place and who are willing to take care of a home (especially homes with pets). We have used the service many times over the past two years and have nearly always had an extraordinary experience. All potential house sitters are vetted to a degree, but there are usually many reviews that allow a homeowner to match with someone meeting the homeowner's needs. We have never felt uncertain about a sitter and have never had a sit go wrong. We can strongly recommend this service.
We signed up almost a year ago & have used it twice. Both sitters were great with our animals & took very good care of the house. We got updates every evening with pictures.

I am really sorry to hear that your sit has been cancelled. Rest assured it is not standard for any confirmed arrangements to be changed in any way. We appreciate the disruption this can cause.
We only accept cancellations that are for extraordinary circumstances and will have contacted and spoken with the owners around this as e do realise that there are two sides to every story.
