Trader Joe's enjoys a strong reputation for its unique product offerings, affordability, and friendly staff, which many customers appreciate. The emphasis on organic and gourmet items enhances its appeal, particularly among health-conscious shoppers. However, concerns have emerged regarding inconsistent customer service experiences, particularly in specific locations, and issues with product quality, such as spoiled items. Additionally, some customers have reported negative interactions with staff related to service animals and returns. Overall, while Trader Joe's is favored for its selection and atmosphere, addressing service inconsistencies and product quality could further enhance customer satisfaction.

This is the second time the crew members have asked me what disability I have that I need a service dog. They violate the ADA law and were trained to ask these questions. They also told me that if my dog is emotional support, they don't allow her. She was wearing an identifying Service Dog vest. It's mortifying having people stare when having your rights violated. I would not recommend Trader Joe's to anyone with any disability or service animal. Shame on them!

The store's emphasis on organic and gourmet products sets it apart from traditional supermarkets. I enjoy exploring their diverse offerings, from international snacks to seasonal treats. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable, making shopping at Trader Joe's a pleasure.

01/05/2024- I enjoyed a vegan sandwich, soup and a healthy "Lemony Arugula Basil Salad kit from Trader Joe's! Filling! Fresh! Delicious!
Trader joe allows dogs in the store sniffing on food products without any questions and they are not service animals.customers who are dog owners do not care about other people its is discusting to have a dog sniff on the food you are eating.health dept should fine dog owner and stores.they should regulate the situation better.dogs and animals in general carry lots of disease that can transmit to human.
I would like to share with you my recent very negative experience that I encounter on December 22,2023 (at 15:19 pm) at Store #0711 (5600 North Washington Road, Milwaukee WI).Checking my receipt I noticed that I was overcharged on an item.
Noticing this I came to a manager corner in the store informing manager that I was overcharged. The manager of the story (she told me her name was Gladys) told me that I need to stand a line again in order to get a refund. It was Friday afternoon, the store was very busy and to stand a new line was around 30 minutes.
So thanks to Gladys I spent another 30 minutes in the store to get a refund for the item I was overcharged.
Clear pepper grinder tops are far better than the black ones: better grind size, spices seem to go farther
Just yesterday, went in to get my usual oranges, grapefruits, jumbo eggs, & fresh OJ. Didn't have 'em. Out of stock. 'We only get one box of oranges at 4 a.m., and it's 2 p.m., so they're gone. WHAT? I've been to this store a zillion time (Manhattan, E. 14th St. By Stuyvesant Town), and have seen LOADS of oranges & grapefruits - at 5 in the afternoon - on a Saturday. Thunderstruck - that they were out of them. ALL of them. They only had bags of clementines, which the stock woman cheerfully (if cluelessly) directed me to. Same for - the fresh O.J. Just. Not. There. And the eggs, and so on & so forth. What. A. Pain.
This happens - A LOT - at Trader Joe's. You go in thinking you'll be all set for the week, only to discover that a couple of items ARE MISSING. 'Out of stock'. Even worse is when you're told the item is 'Out of season', & 'won't return for a couple of months' - if ever.
Worse yet, one day I tried their 3-cheese chips they were handing out as samples (really SMALL samples btw...). Liked them a lot, so I bought a bag. Went in 2 weeks later to get another bag, but - you guessed it: "OUT FOR THE SEASON". REALLY? You dangle these things out there, get a customer hooked - & then you're OUT OF STOCK a few weeks later? Wow. Just... Wow.
Oh - and I like the way they raised their prices during Covid & the 'supply chain' fiasco, & then never returned to normal prices afterward. One of my favorite snacks - the Trader Joe's Bamba Peanut Snack - USED to be 99 cents a bag. Then it went up, & up, & up. Now it's at $1.79. I thought it'd go back down because Trader Joe's has a good 'ethic' about it... No happiness there. Still a whopping $1.79 years after Covid. Just don't get 'em anymore. I refuse to get raked over the coals...
Thanks Joe.
Was working my way through what I thought was a good chicken bowl. Next bite almost cracked my tooth on a full bone. Absolutely unacceptable..
Some healthy choices at a relatively affordable price to be found, as long as you read the labels & shop carefully. The rest not so much. And that goes for the locations as well; most well run to accommodate the long lines & overcrowding. Their stores in NYC still succeed to make it a pleasant experience, mostly because of their exceptional employee to customer service. But do try to avoid their location in Queens, NY if you want the best of Trader Joe's. There you might find a different attitude towards their customers that seeps out from a few of their employees, to make you ask yourself why you bothered to shop there! Maybe new management?
Made a comment related to Mexicans storming American borders. How undocumented workers would take try American jobs… was fired because of it.
Warning Customers Beware! I was just robbed today at Trader Joe's in Philadelphia Pa. ******* The best that the management offered was to fault me and not their security! Wow thanks for that slap in the face. Will not be returning any time soon, shame on you and your approach to customer assistance. The best part of this is how they ganged up on my husband last summer while he waited for me at the front of the store. Due to his back injury he was not able to walk through the store and was accused of loitering while I shopped. After my experience today all I have to say is wow! Not so friendly and zero customer care. Thanks TJ
I googled this product hoping to find reviews that might concur with my experience. Like several, the Spatchcocked Lemon Rosemary Chicken emitted a horrible stench upon opening the packaging. I couldn't decide if it's the lemon Rosemary marinade, but it just didn't make sense. The freeze by date is 4 days away so I wouldn't think it's spoiled yet, but apparently somethings not right here! I opened both main house doors and lit a couple of candles to clear the air! I also called the location were purchased and provided feedback similar to this review. The store is going to send a quality report to the supplier. The store is also happy to reimburse me upon my next visit. In any event, I baked the chicken and the odor did subside quite a bit,but I was afraid to serve this chicken to my family, given the putrid odor. I felt obligated to share my experience with consumers, especially since previous reviews indicate the same condition of troublesome odor despite future use by or freeze due date. Please purchase an alternative item and perhaps nothing fresh and marinating in a sealed package. This will be my practice moving forward.
This is a review for the watermelon jerky only. I was on vacation and made plans to go to trader joe's since there isn't one here where I live. For the most part I love the products that they offer but there were a few things that I would suggest you not buy when you're there. The first one is the watermelon jerky. It is by far one of the worst things I bought from Trader Joe's. It's BAD! Tastes stale, flavor is off, texture is off and it had a slightly "wet" feel to it. It was gross. Something else you shouldn't buy from there is the pre-cut fruits in containers. I bought 4 of those and when we opened them up it was smelled like it was already rotting. The weird thing is that it looked ok. The fresh whole fruit was fine. By the way this was the Trader Joe's in San Jose area.
Bought a bag of tiny Haas avocados on a Monday; just the two of us and has always been plenty. Always delicious in the past.
Spouse cut them open two days later, and all were soft and rotten (see photo). Got blamed for inattention to viabiity; maybe, they were frozen along their way to the store: felt firm in the bag, but now right for the compost.
Had to eat the TJ Elote Dippers alone...We'll live but caveat emptor rules.
More Q-C, please.
When I was close to checking out I realized that I wanted to buy bullion cubes. I caught the eye of a cashier who was about 10 meters away, and asked her "Do you have bullion cubes? " She responded"What "... I responded louder, as she didn't hear me " Do you have bullion cubes "... Her response was was, very tersely " Don't yell at me "
I said "I didn't yell at you, I yelled to you " She kept it up, repeating "Don't tell at me"
I found this encounter extremely inappropriate and very passive aggressive on her part. Maybe she thought she could bully a senior citizen... Maybe she was having a bad day... but there are no excuses for rude passive aggressive behavior. L
I'll always remember when I was younger, and working in my Uncle's drug store. I was rude to a customer, and I was fired... Best thing he could have done... a lesson in accountability... now individuals are rarely fired, and accountability has gone out the window.
I experienced a random act of kindness at Trader Joe's in Wellington Florida today. My cashier (Nancy) realized I wasn't feeling very good. She asked me if I was alright and I told her I had a surgical procedure on Monday and had had a follow up appointment with my doctor today and needed a few items. She then turned to one of her associates and asked her to go get a small bouquet of flowers which she then gave to me and hopes I would feel better. She also had another associate (Clyde) who was helping her bag my items take my packages to my car for me. Thank you Trader Joe's for having such considerate and compassionate employees.

I cannot believe Trader Joes discontinued Soymilk ice cream: Vanilla and Chocolate Cherry. There are many of us out there that are fans.

Been shopping at Trader Joes since 1969! When they opened the White Oak Store in the Valley my mom and I were happy as we didn't have to go to Pasadena. THAT is how long I have been a customer. Why an I telling you this well because TJ's has deteriorated over the years. I live in Indio California and I shop at the La Quinta Store which is about 6 miles from me. Over the last two months they have forgotten to put things I purchased in my bag! This has happened 6 times to be exact since June! Also forgot my paper goods TWICE that were set on an adjacent register & not put in my basket. It is unfortunate that I have to drive all the way back for my items! OR item! I paid for it I want it period. Called the store and the male manager there says well I will tell my team when we huddle to do a better job! Lol instead of addressing the fact I didn't get my item! When I addressed it and told him I don't care what you do with your team what about my item I am told oh well you can get it next time you come in! Really? Like I have unlimited amounts of money to waste on gas to come and RETRIEVE what I already paid for! REALLY? Called corporate and they were so rude. Customer service hung up on me and the people answering the main phones could care less. I spend anywhere from $60 to $160 dollars a week in Trader Joes La Quinta location. This is how you are going to treat me! Okay tell you what I will shop where they are nice to me and diligent. I have had enough. FYI when I figure out the round trip for 6 times it comes out to 72 miles! Trader Joes owes me for gas... period!
At $6.00 or more a gallon I am tired of eating it. Shame on this company.
I love your brand and your products, they're generally really good but I cannot get over how many plastic packaging your using! A brand your size and with the kind of products you sell should do better and help us get rid of plastic. Every single fruit and vegetable doesn't need to be packed! This is ridiculous. Why don't you become PLASTIC FREE, ECO FRIENDLY, set an exemple in the US and help the world become a better place. As a huge brand you have the responsibility to do it and it will totally be aligned with your products. You can become an even better brand! Become plastic free or at least reduce the hell out of no necessary packaging like in fruits and vegetables! Thank you
