Not only are items WAY overvalued the clock doesn't stop on the tournament if there's a last second change in the leader. That's right! So it's s game of chicken of who wants to max out their credit card on coupons to win an item for "free"

This site is either a total scam or has been taken over by scammers. The same people keep ending up at top, and they always seem to beat you perfectly with less than 5 seconds remaining - thus encouraging you to buy more tickets to pass them.

It is NOT free on any level because you HAVE TO buy tickets to play. Everything, even the short tournaments, jumps up so high so quickly that there is no way to compete with it. Any free tickets you get you need to also play to receive. They're all for answering trivia questions, but you can't answer trivia questions after a certain level. You will ALWAYS get passed. It is 100% gambling with your money.

And I have won 3 items, and every time I've been competing against the same people. Not to mention the BULK of people on here only have their lightbulb emblem for an image. A small way they could make it look less suspicious would be to require users to upload images to participate - that way we would know they were real people. If all the people winning and beating you have the auto-picture as their image and has a clearly fake anagram name (it's such basic naming conventions that I've seen before in fake user creation), it's very suspicious that they're real people winning.

Plus, all this stuff is from very obscure sources, hard to tell if the pricing is accurate or real.

DO NOT JOIN UP. I made a huge mistake and wasted my money on 3 useless prizes that haven't even arrived yet. Plus, their emails go straight to spam - another sign that they are suspicious.

Hello, thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you have come to these conclusions. I'll respond to as many as I can here, but I'd love to speak with you by email too - my personal email is matthew@totaltrivia.com
1) It is free on one level. You do not have to purchase discount coupons. You can participate before the points threshold without using any discount coupons, and earn free ones during that time. Some shoppers still win tournaments without spending any money - I see these every day. But since not every tournament is free, Total Trivia isn't for everyone. It's for those shoppers who want to make their online shopping experience more fun, and if they get some great deals and even free items along the way, that makes it all the more fun.
2) There are no fake or bot accounts. I like your idea about requiring a photo, it makes sense and is something we'll consider further. But many shoppers don't want to share their identity which we also want to respect. The shoppers you see popping up frequently are genuine shoppers who genuinely love playing in lots of tournaments.
3) We work with unique brand partners to bring (often) hand crafted items, selected based on the feedback of our shoppers. Some brands are more recognisable than others, but everything is 100% authentic and comes direct from those brands to our warehouse in Chicago.

Built up enough points to hit 2nd place then was told I had to buy my way into continuing to play. This is B. S. Thanks, but no thanks.

Hi Yvonne, while many users do win prizes for free, we are unable to give free items away to everyone all the time. Therefore it is necessary to purchase and use discount coupons to play above a certain level. Remember that every discount coupon you use counts towards a discount on the item even if you don't win, so you are always getting great deals.

The prizes are worthless. Have you researched the manufacturers? Adamant bicycles? JW Krogman silverware? The only thing you'll find are faked Amazon reviews. Why? Because this is a scam. Even if you pay $75 and "win" a "$1,500 bike," what you're getting is a $100 bike with garbage components. If 500 suckers fall for this, Total Trivia scammers get rich. It's an auction scam. Period.

At first you will think it is the greatest app ever... then you realize the Bot, Jonnyconnect is running the show. I was restricted, after i referred several members, and saved up my tickets, and they gave me a phony email address to contact their "compliance" dept, which is nonexistant, so then i went to the Minnesota Better Business Bureau for answrrs, and was able to locate a phone number to Total Trivia. A week later... multiple phone calls, and still no explanation as to why my account was restricted, and no return call from anyone, such as the "manager" they mention will call me, has called. I am filing my complaint with the BBB in Minnesota. They must be stopped. It is modern day thievery. I will also be filing for tefunds on all the money I have spent. BTW, they restricted all my friends that I referred also... how is that right or fair? I call it stealing. No response to why, and no resolution. Buyers beware.

You get to play their "free" game until you hit 20,000 points. Than you can buy tickets you can pay with a credit card or with paypal. So even if you have money on pay pal don't bother picking it. They want your credit card information just for you to use pay pal. Seems more of a scam to get your card information if you ask me.

Hi Keri, many players have won tournaments without having to pay for discount coupons. Even if you do, you are still able to get items at a huge discount and with free shipping. We offer the choice to pay by card or paypal. All payment information is stored using established data security and encryption methods and can be removed at any time. Spent $25 to win and with 20 seconds to spare a user who is not even in the top 10 suddenly jumps past my score? Total bs! There are bots who jump in and win ALL the prizes at the last minute, honestly it's such crap. You CANNOT win anything without spending money and even then one of the bots will come in the last 20 seconds and steal your spot. I want my money back and will tell EVERYONE I know this app is a SCAM

Not good. They keep lowering the value of "discount coupons" by offering them for cheaper and cheaper, so if you bought them a while ago they are almost useless. Also they started offering some legitimate trivia contests so I bought discount coupons and now they are back to the same old "buy your way to win" model.

I went to buy 20 tickets and it changed my order to 200 and charged me. I went to do it again later for twenty and instead it didnt even ask how many it just charged for 200 this website is a $#*!ing scam and a bot won the prize anyway, also the adding time thing is bs too, because eventually you have to keep buying tickets just to keep going

Hi Jadie, we definitley would not charge you for 200 tickets when you wanted 20 - sounds like it could be a technical issue. Stay away from TotalTrivia! I won 3 things in a row then had a charge on my credit card that I didn't make. So I reported it to my bank and the next morning I couldn't compete for anymore prizes I contacted them and they never responded. Plus still haven't received what I won

I am sure you have witnessed the wave of trivia app games that have been popping up promising money or prizes and this is the story of one of them.
I found Total Trivia because it was being promoted on facebook. I was already playing HQ and Cash Show and this was a different kind of trivia game. Total Trivia tests your trivia to win a prize and only 1 will win and that's the last one standing in the game. These prizes range from home decor, amazon gift cards, kitchenware, clothing, etc. and the monetary value is listed in each tournament.
Recently, Total Trivia changed their format to the person with the most points wins. These points are gained by completing 6 questions at a time that are either free by watching ads or paying in tickets.
In 99.9% of cases, you are almost forced into buying additional tickets in order to win these items.
I was in need of a blanket because my blanket was a battlefield to me. The piling on my blanket was really hurting me. As an RSD/CRPS patient, I need a soft lightweight blanket. Advertised every single day on Total Trivia are rounds of tournaments to win these blankets so I continued to take my shot and I would ride it out to see where it was at the 6 minute warning. Twice I won this blanket- one for me and one for my mom.
I was so excited to win this blanket and when it showed up, my heart sank. This is NOT what they advertised! This is a pathetic excuse for a knock off. It is NOT plush. It is NOT lightweight. It's very rough and very heavy. I immediately contacted Total Trivia to give them an opportunity to make it right. And it should be worth noting that when my mother's blanket came in, it was also that awful knock off brand. My mother who does NOT have RSD/CRPS says that it's awful but she ultimately decided to keep it! Total Trivia gave me a label to send it back. They had it for a week and never contacted me. I contacted them saying that I knew they had received it and asked when I would be receiving the item I had actually won. I got a BS response saying that she didnt know how this had happened and it was clearly a mistake in the warehouse and that my correct blanket would be sent out immediately.
Guess what guys, TODAY I received my blanket and guess what it is... THE SAME DAMN BLANKET! It is the SAME awful knock off that is rough and heavy! So heavy that my 9 year old niece struggled to pick it up!
I had received questions upon winning this blanket, asking if this game is legit... I respectfully waited to see if they would make this right but they clearly wont and I therefore REFUSE to recommend or endorse them.
If you play Total Trivia, I HIGHLY recommend you proceed with caution. If you win an item, make sure that it's the actual item you won! If it's not, try and reach out to them and send it back and demand that it's the item that you actually won. You may end up in the same place as me but it'll cost them in shipping labels.
If you want to play a trivia game and win something- play HQ or Cash Show. Total Trivia is a FRAUD and NOT worth you time, effort or money.

There's a sucker born every minute -P. T. Barnum

This game is a testament to that statement.
Here let me explain I'll prove it to you. Oh and I am just as guilty as everyone else. When I downloaded the app/game I thought what a fun and relaxing way to spend some spare time and win some good prizes after playing and having some fun I quickly realized that I was the one being played like a fiddle.
So far to date I have won 3 good semi cheap prizes. Yay me. Lol. Now let's just talk about what I spent to get those "free prizes".
Now mind you there is no way you can win any prizes without spending money with this game, here is why
You are actually playing literally 100's of other people trying to get their prizes for free too, gotta love competition but like everything else in this world where nobody can agree on one thing they refuse to just give up and walk away at second place. Now back to the money cause that's what free enterprise is all about right?
The first prize was a ladies ring that obviously was something I was trying to win for my wife. It is a pretty ring and she is looking forward to receiving it by the "free shipping by FedEx."
At first I played and got to 10,000 points awesome fun. And then the game starts with you watching the advertisements which I'm ok with, I personally like seeing new stuff.! And yes they give you a choice to watch or not ( by using the "coupons") which are priced to sell let me tell you, they seem reasonable. Now I get to 20,000 points and the game starts demanding a minimum of 4 coupons to regain your chance to reign at the top (1st place). As the next person moves up to regain their place at the top the coupon price go's up as well, up to as much as 140+ coupons just to play the trivia game. By the time you realize what's going on you just keep buying coupons which I'm sure is designed to drain your bank account quickly like a Dyson vacuum. And then finally I'm back on top and then the timer starts it's count down and gets below 1 minute and my heart starts to palpitate with excitement... I'm going to win... yes... and then out of left field here comes somebody that wants it more then me! Oh wait, what.! The timer restarts to 3 minutes... oh great another road block so off to the game store again to buy more... you guessed it coupons... so long story short I'm wrapped up in the game for $40 and can't stop now I end up winning after 3 times being a victim of the timer and other gamers trying to out bid/win. With a total cost of $50 on a $150 ring that my wife will love I'm sure. Not bad. So I figure I'll try it again this time on a flashlight and then again on another ring I win them both. Now it's at this point I feel like a gambling junky I can't get enough. Let's try a TV. I start to realize there are some other options to get to the top boost and fast track! Oh boy there's a faster way. Yet another way to get more money out of your bank account into theirs. After playing several hours and not winning the TV at a cost of $ 150.00 and no money returned or even a consolation prize of say 50% of the coupons back. Which I think would be fair. I realized that's what this game is about... not the game or trivia but "money " the root of all evil.!

So what's the moral of the story.
Don't bother playing... it's just a disguise to bait you in and spend your hard earned money on goods that aren't worth it. With no chance of winning anything especially with a 20,000 point ceiling and gives others with more money than you the chance to out bid you on everything. Oh and Im not bitter. Life's not fair right?

The game is letting you know exactly where your station in life is and basing it all on your bank account and the bank account of others. NOT THE GAME

Well played TotalTrivia well played. They are just leaned back in their chairs laughing at all of us counting their $$$$$.

But not from this guy.
App deleted. Lessons learned. At 41 you would have thought I would have learned by now...

It all seems real at first and easy but its really a scam. They have bots like JonnyConnect who are just there to rob you of your money. It seems like every time youre in first until the last minute, then some person starts battling you for the item and you go into overtime and end up spending hundreds on tickets and boosters. If you want to actually win it will cost you so much in tickets and the items take forever to ship, sometimes they dont even come at all. If you dont want some scamming app to steal all your money fast I dont recommend using this app.

I don't see how the average middle class person can actually afford to win this game. While fun there's no way to win without spending a small fortune. Sadly I can't afford it. Perhaps if the prizes were worth the money it would be ok but they are overpriced and in reality items I don't need The daily challenges don't award enough to use unless you earn them every day for months. Then you might just have enough to play one tournament and perhaps win. Too rich for me. Too bad.

Hi Roxanne, you may be surprised to learn that in our first 5 days, more than 60 tournaments, and $10,000 in retail value was won by players who used zero discount coupons. I read a review for Total Trivia that convinced me to give it a try. I have been addicted ever since. The game is fun and you play for prizes. The Trivia is fun also and not so hard that you wouldn't have a chance of winning. It is also a little competitive but that's expected when their are prizes. I have won some very quality prizes. The prizes are not cheap stuff. Very Addicted to total Trivia

You can really tell it was made with good intent. That said I would advise anyone thinking about getting on this app to not spend your own money. I got on the app played in 12 different games. Spent $6.00 and I saved that for the very last minutes of a game to win an item. So here I was the winner 1 minute left and I was about to win and I went down to 2nd okay I though I will spend my money now. It added more tie on the clock WTF... really now the score is going out of control. This guy is a BOT or has a large amount of coupons, he just kept on and on until I7 had to either give up or buy more. I put the phone down and deleted the app. Nope I am not falling for it. You see these app's set it up to have trolls bidding their own items so they don't have to give it all to you, and I am not playing with them not thank you. I would love my $6 back as well :) what a complete rip off... I would not support a app that makes the rules so unfair if you can trade in a prize for cupons to become the master of the game that is just F'ed up period... You all need to change that right away. Point blank.

Hi Kyle, we'll be happy to refund your $6 - please email support@totaltrivia.com with your username so we can assist with that.
We are working on finding the right exchange rates for discount coupons. Using the exchanges does allow you to win more retail value in items without having to spend money which is why so many of our shoppers love that new feature. There are certainly no bots on our site. Some shoppers just really want to win and make full use of boosters and fast track to increase their points faster during overtime. I'm sorry it wasn't for you - thank you for acknowledging our good intentions.

If you're one of those idiots that plays apps for money oh, this one is for you. There's hardly any incentive to play this app, as the rewards are terrible for the amount of time you have to spend to claim them. The questions are lazily put together, and despite having categories, 80% of the questions involves a celebrity or movies. This game is a hundred percent free to play because total trivia has nothing to offer. Don't waste your time with this pathetic app.

Initially, I had written a Review sharing the pros and cons of this site. I'm re-writing my review to express the fact that there are no longer pros.

I quit this site years ago. The economy changes so fast that it becomes impossible to win without gambling. Which is not something you never want to do on these sites.

Do not spend your money here. There are bots galore, and you will not beat the addicts and whales for useful items.

Avoid this app, and it's clone Dealdash, at all costs. Let them collapse under the weight of their own borderline-illegal gambling and bot-driven player manipulation.

There are really no good discounts, or free items. You have to purchase "tickets" to play after achieving 20,000 trivia points for free. The whole thing is set up just to take as much of your money as possible. I can't believe sites like this are even legal. Stay away, and don't waste your time or your money.

Hello Jessica,

Thanks kindly for your review! I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way. I played until I got 10,000 points. Then they forced me to watch ads. Ok, so I watch the ads. Then i hit 20,000 points and now they are forcing me to pay money to bid.

There was advertising on TV showing it is all free bidding and sponsors pay for the prizes as they show and feature their products. Look, I am fine with watching ads, but what is this nonsense? I have to pay to bid after I get 20,000 points?

Hi Vidur, sorry for the misunderstanding. We would love to give items away for free all the time, but that just isn't possible. Shoppers actually do win items for free whenever the tournament stays below the discount coupon threshold. But even those who don't win earn a discount from every discount coupons they use to play with. And shipping is always free. If you want to talk about anything please email me at support@totaltrivia.com

This game is a scam. I just spent FIFTY-FIVE DOLLARS on a product that I really, really wanted just to be beaten last-minute by someone who wins every single tournament. I was in the lead by 6,000 points and within the last five minutes, someone miraculously jumps up to 20,000 points?! I spent an additional $25, answered ALL of the trivia questions correctly within less than 2 seconds, bought the boosters, and still was getting beat! I swear this tournament could have gone on to at least 40,000 points, it's as if they have unlimited coupons?! These people are not real. Some products go for close to nothing, but because I'm spending actual money, mine miraculously goes for 10x more coupons than all the other ones, because they think I'll keep paying?! TOTAL scam. I seriously want my money back and I am so done with this app. The worst $55 of my life, gone in 5 minutes. I'm seriously posting this review everywhere, I have 37k followers on twitter and 54k on Instagram and I'll be sure to get the word out. This is ridiculous and I seriously want my money back! I can't believe I thought I had a chance at actually winning anything! This app will leave you feeling betrayed, the same people win every single tournament. DON'T play it.

Hi Claire, thanks for taking the time to leave this review.

I understand you were left frustrated after spending money in a tournament but being beaten in the final moments. Every shopper is a real person like yourself. Some people make very good use of the 'exchange win for discount coupons' feature which can give them an advantage in other tournaments. We have been working on finding the best exchange rates to keep the tournaments fair because we are acutely aware that it's not as fun if there are certain shopper winning everything.

That said, we'll be happy to refund any money you spent, just let us know your username at support@totaltrivia.com
