My first customer engagement was well matched with my technical experience and the customer contacts were clear on requirements, process and communication. This was a data migration project that was closed early due to accounting structure complexities that needed to be resolved internally. This was still a productive assignment - a migration plan and process was developed and executed to a point where they could identify scope of issues that needed business review. At that point they decided to reset their upper management's expectations and re-group at a high level on the system implementation.
I am really pleased in how engagement went.
It was a rocky start, where at first things weren't defined clearly and completely and first couple of deadlines were short, but shortly after we figured out inside the team how to approach sprints better everything clicked and we did some amazing work.

It took me about a month to complete all the steps for getting into Toptal but once that was done the process of getting a Job on the platform was quite simple. It took me less than a month to secure my first job after completing my toptal profile and after that its been smooth sailing. It's quite easy to schedule off time and handling payments has been a breeze.

I've been on the Toptal platform for about 4 years and receive roughly 10 invitations/week to projects. Some are the mundane "pay the rent" projects, which I'll happily (and easily) do, but most are interesting, challenging, 3-6 month CFO projects. This keeps me coming back to the platform. I highly recommend it for quality of projects/clients and ease of applying to them. Payments are done 100% on time and in accordance with my timesheets.
