Mark@ US Pools maintains my pool for the last few years. He is very knowledgable and gives me a reasonable price. I definitely recommend him to others.
MY HUSBAND AND I NEEDED TO HAVE A SOFA AND A LOVE SEAT MOVED FROM MY GARGARE TO MY LIVING ROOM WHICH IS ON THE SECOND FLOOR.THE WAY THE APARTMENT IS SET UP ITS VERY LITTLE WIGGLE ROOM FOR MANOVERING BIG FURNITURE. ALL THE HELP WE HAD ENLISTED FAILED SO WE DECIDED TO GIVE THUMBTACK A TRY AFTER READING SEVERAL REVIEWS. MARCUS REACHED OUT AND ADVISED HE WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO ASSIST. MARCUS IS THE MAN IF HE CANT DO IT NOBODY CAN, HIM AND HIS CREW ARRIVED ON TIME, THEY WERE SO NICE AND KIND AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE ABLE TO MOVE BOTH PEICES WITHOUT ONE SCRATCH ON MY WALLS. IM VERY VERY PLEASE WITH HIS SERVICES WE WOULD RECOMMAND HIM TO ANYONE, HE'S YOUR GUY! OH NOT TO MENTION THEY FINISHED THE JOB IN NO TIME...

Thumbtack disappeared after charging $300. Phone number for support does not work only gives press one option for text messages see screenshot
I considered signing up for thumbtack and started the online process and selected a package they offered during Black Friday. Before completing, I paused the process to read some reviews and decided I did not want to continue. I deactivated my account and contacted customer service to inform them that I did not complete the process and do not want my cc charged for the package. They responded to me informing me that they have charged my cc and will not offer a refund. The extract response received " As it states the purchase is nonrefundable prior to selecting a package and making the purchase, this is not something we may refund. Although I understand you've decided to close your account, this is not something we may reconsider. The credit will never expire and may be used should you decide to use it prior to closing your account, or later should you return.I know this is not the answer you hoped for however I appreciate your understanding. If you need assistance reactivating to use the remaining credit please let me know, otherwise I wish you the best and thank you for your time.". The reviews are accurate, customer service is terrible and several people say the leads are fake and will not get you any business. Hope this helps someone else considering helping this company make their $3.2billion dollars.
I started my Housekeeping service on $ 60 in cleaning supplies and $20 for my first credits, that was 2 years ago, I have had nothing but success with Thumbtack. For those of you having issues about not getting jobs from the leads you spend your credits on you first need to look at your reply message, then you need to pick and choose the jobs that are benificial to you, then when you do get a job you need to be dedicated to giving the best service you can offer. After a job have the client give you feedback about what you have done in case you missed something. If they are happy ask them to please give you a review when they are sent the link for it. I can say this because I am their top pro housekeeping service in Charleston SC, I won the 2015 Top Housekeeping Service Award for Thumbtack because of my reviews. Don't blame Thumbtack for your shortcomings, they are a great tool for your business, you are the one that makes or breaks your business and remember one other thing you have compitition out there so don't over charge for your service. Also on the client side of things if they want to pay cheap and you go above and beyond to do the job, don't waste your time, your worth more then that. But there is room for you to lower your price for someone that really needs your help, even then you do a top notch job. You make your business from the way you present yourself, the job you do and earning the great reviews that you work hard for.
Please never ever choose Lake Houston Property Mainteance for any work, they are registered with Thumbtack and the company is fraud. The owner Jason Antinori charged $1500 for some few home repaiors but actually did NOT do the work, my real estate agent confirmed Jason did not do the carpet shampoo nor the ac/dryer vent cleaning. The worse part is the guy stole our paver bricks from the garage, concrete bags and tiles from our attic. HE IS A THIEF, beware I have been trying to reach this guy and texting him, but no resposne
I hired shine depot to deep clean my house. Marcia and lu did an excelent job. They went above and beyond tto clean even hard areas to reach. I am now using them on a regular basis. I DEFINETLY RECOMEND SHINE DEPOT. Rick in summerfield
We're so happy to hear this, sounds like you had a great experience! Thanks for taking the time to leave a 5 star review and recommendation. We hope you'll continue to utilize Thumbtack for future projects.
Horrible customer service. They treat the Pros who use their service like crap!
I do not recommend using this platform.
We're sorry to hear your feedback, and that you weren't provided the support you were looking for. We understand if you're moving forward with your business, but if you have outstanding concerns please send us a DM on social media so that we can follow up quickly.
I would not recommend Thumbtack. I had a horrible experience with a "pretend" pro named Lexus Mathew's doing business $#*! Famya Divine. She was kicked off of on Thumbtack for not honoring her contract. She's also on Etsy, Instagram and other social media sites pretending to be a Muralist, she accepted the money and never did the job because she is inexperienced. Thumbtack got involved but not helpful. They say they vet all of their pros but they do not- these people are not really pros, Thumbtack only do a criminal background and hire anyone who passes. Thumbtack is only a marketing platform and they do not hire really eat these folks, meaning they do not have the real skilled people and anyone can use this platform. I had to file a "theft by taken" warrant on the pro. Please don't believe anything that the marketing teams says or responds to about my truth. They have done very little to help me in this case and the platform should be canceled. There's no manager, this is a platform where you hope and pray things will be right.
Thanks for working with our Trust and Safety Team on this, we're really sorry to hear about your project. We were able to locate your case, and it looks like there's been some updates since you initially shared this review. We can confirm that you were issued reimbursement from Thumbtack, as the pro failed to provide a resolution. We understand this doesn't change your experience, but we hope you'll be able to use the reimbursement to move forward and get your project completed. If you still have outstanding questions or concerns, please respond to our team's email from May 10th. We also recommend you review our Safety Page for helpful tips during the hiring process: https://www.thumbtack.com/safety/.
As a contractor I love Thumbtack much better than Angies Home Advisor YP Yelp Fixr Smith Contractor, com and a few others in that crowded field They arebetter than all of them. Very specific as to what the customer wants and very reasonable cost for the lead I have had great customers and I have great reviews by customers on Thumbtack Here is hoping they remain the leader in contractor lead generation.
Thumbtack is a terrible company to do business with. Do not sign up with them. Do not offer your services nor build a profile on their webpage, because you will only encounter terrible customer service and experience the bad business practices they follow once someone contacts you for a service. I'll share my experience:
Thumbtack knows my availability because I put it in my calendar. Someone messaged me for my service at a time I was available only to ask "are you available on my date" and Thumbtack charged my card. Because that client already sent out 4 similar messages to other pro members, we all got charged on our cards despite the lady getting the deal with another pro member. So basically... I got charged $13 just for a lady to ask me if "I was available" when clearly, I let Thumbtack know my availability through their system. This happened several times with other cleints that fell through as well. They would simply ask "Are you available?" and I would get charged $13 every time...
I called to complain and explain that Thumbtack KNEW my availability and explained to them that I shouldn't get charged for the lady asking me if I was available. Their customer service is the WORST. I spoke to a representative on the phone and she said I would get a refund. I told her I wanted to make sure it was a refund back to my credit card and not as "credits." She confirmed over the phone that I would be refunded to my card. Then... she emails me an hour later saying she cannot refund me to my card. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service.
After using Zarichta Sevices LLC (Josiane and Gustavo) cleaning services I noticed that some items are missing from my house (the whole version of my review is posted here on Sitejabber under the title Zarichta Sevices LLC). I let Zarichtas go for good and wrote a review describing this coincidence between the time they were cleaning and the disappearance of my stuff on the Thumbtack website. Thumbtack deleted my email and sent me one of the most crafty examples of the "lip service" messages. For them to investigate, they ask for the documentation (including videos) supporting my story. With the video, I will be filing the case with the police! Who follows cleaning people with the recording camera around the house?! I was working on Zoom in my office, while Zarichtas have been cleaning.
To this end, I was wondering if Thumbtack keeps the scores of their pros high by simply deleting negative opinions. It's one way of doing business and convincing the customers that the pros' background has been checked.
It was my first experience using Thumbtack. I will never use their services again and advise all of you against using them.
Thank you for reading my review.
Thank you for your review, Victoria. We appreciate the detailed account of your cleaning projects with this pro, and we're sorry to hear that things didn't go well in the end. The information you've shared is concerning and we want to step in and resolve your concerns, as well as prevent this from potentially happening to other customers. Please provide more information to our team through this link: https://help.thumbtack.com/report-a-concern. Our Trust and Safety Team handles these types of concerns, they'll look further into your case and reach out to you directly. We really hope that you'll reach out to us and give us the opportunity to make things right. If you have any questions or concerns before submitting your report, please send us a direct message on any social media channel and we'll walk you through it.
Pros please don't use this service! They will stoled your money! The most leads you will have are fake and the "fake customers" will never responce you! But you will be charged for a lot of money!
I hired a worker from Thumbtack Carliss Moore for Carliss Moore for less he is a racist and a danger to women, he called me a lot of racial explitics name and also coned me out of money Thumbtack does not screen there people they just list them.My job is worst now than it was before they started, according to the 3 estimated contractor thumbtack requested I am a widow of a retired veteran and have to children serving in the military and this is how thumbtack does there military families in my opinion BAD They took out my tub and shower and know I have no money no shower no tub, and Thumbtack turned there back on me and with my chronic illness i used my tub for therpy and my condition is getting worst and Thumbtack doesn't care.
This company is a total rip-off.
They claim to have legit leads and they charge you for leads that has no repsonses.
Leads have no phone number to reach the clients.
BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL.! They place fake ads to allure you to respond and they pretend by responding to your email and charge you for each leads that so called respond.
Try to ask the lead to give a number to call to confirm theyr work request no telephone number given.
If someone really are looking for a handyman, interior designer, photograper for their projects they will give you their number so they know who are dealing with.
In this case Thumbtack is not giving clients phone number because of so called privacy policy.
If a client is looking for a pro they should be able to to be reached so we can offer them our services.
When chatting online with them the response you get is with a link to their policies and they do not respond to you after that.
When trying to dispute the charge with my credit card company they state it was valid since I gave them permission to charge.
Yes I gave permission to charge for real leads not fake leads.
To all that have been scam by Thumbtack class Action Lawsuit has to be initiated with the company/owner.
This is very dishonest business practice.
JJM Construcion was a pleasure to work with. Their manner was very professional. The quality of their work was exceptional. Very clean. Stephanie was great from start to finish. Thank you! Dotty D
I am very happy with service. Call Jacome and ask if can come to my house to help with my woods floor. He repair my floor and refinish. My floor feel and looks like new thank Jacome...
Mrs. Maybin
Charlene Chartier is a great massage therapist. She really knows what she is doing. You can tell she is very knoweledgable and experienced. Great experience.
You as a pro sign up for this company hoping to get leads that will get you some work. You pay for some credits starting at $69 and then you get a lot of leads in your email. But here is the catch, you have to response lickety split. Fast in under two minutes, if not you will be beaten out by 5 other suckers(pros). They only allow 5 suckers(pros) to bid per lead. If you are too slow it will save you money, because as soon as the so call customer (which I feel is not always real customers but the workers who create phony profile) open up your bid you are charge some credits which is in other words money. It similar to paid per click, depending on your quote for the job you can be charge a lot of money for someone to just look at your bid. When I realise this I asked for my remaining balance and to close my account. They do not refund you unused money saying it is now credits, which are non refundable. So I am forced to bid on bogus customers only to be out bidded by my fellow pros or if I'm lucky enough to make the top 5 pros they will take my money and I will not get any work. I will dispute this with paypal and see how it goes. But I do not advise anyone to sign up as a pro with this company. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE, AWFUL AND DREADFUL COMPANY.
I was told I had 4 free leads if I advertised my Buisness with them. I was them charged over 300$ in a week for extremely small jobs that I couldn't get to because of the weather. They charged me 75$ FOR ME TO RE-LIGHT A WATEE HEATER! Meaning I make 0 profit. Then I ask customer service what the heck and Mr YAS (that's his name) says I shouldn't have set my limits as high as I did hahahah! I've been in this business for 16 years buddy. I'm furious.
Answer: Thumbtack does not generate fake requests. When our professionals come to Thumbtack to meet new customers, we know how important it is to receive requests that can help them expand their clientele. We have a lot of customers that come to Thumbtack and hire professionals to help them complete their personal projects. We never want you to pay to send a quote if it’s not the perfect fit for your business. This is why you can view the details of each request before you send a quote and introduce yourself to the customer. James - I’m so sorry that the concerns you’ve brought to our attention haven’t been responded to in an appropriate amount of time, this is never our intention. It's important to us to obsess about answering our customers and professionals questions and concerns within a timely manner. We are a real company that can always be improving. You can read more about our company in reputable sources such as Forbes and the New York Times. If anyone has specific concerns about certain requests you’re receiving, we’d be happy to review them and see how we can help. Feel free to give us a call at (800) 343-1710, we have an amazing support team that is just waiting to talk to you.
Answer: Hi Kay, I’d be happy to answer your questions. When we initially started Thumbtack in 2009, we tried multiple business models. This included a commission based model, but there were some concerns. When professionals didn’t pay for each quote they sent out, there was nothing to stop pros from quoting as much as possible, regardless of if they were the right fit for the job. Paying for each quote encourages better quality quotes and creates a much better experience for customers. Like you mentioned, it’s important for us to get customers to try our site and continue to hire professionals. In the end, pros are paying to promote and advertise themselves to customers that are already actively looking for that particular service. S. G has an amazing point, and Thumbtack is a great introduction site. There’s a lot of potential to expand your clientele, but sometimes it takes some tweaking to your profile and quotes to increase your response rate. The goal is to create a connection through your profile and quote message, and we’re here to help you do this. It’s kind of like sending the customer a virtual portfolio of your experience, achievements, and reviews. I do want to clarify that Thumbtack does not create fake requests, and it goes against everything we value as a company. While Thumbtack may not be the perfect fit for every business, we strongly believe that we can help connect businesses with new customers and foster growth. If you’d like to give us a call at (800) 343-1710, we’d love to give you more personalized help or answer any other concerns you may have.
Answer: We love to see that you’re interested in joining Thumbtack, Grace! Your party planning business sounds like it will be a blast. When it comes to having a license, it's up to each professional to determine what licenses are necessary and follow their local, state and federal laws. I recommend checking with your state to see if a business license is needed for your service. Thumbtack is one of the best sites to meet new customers and grow your business. Robert S. Gave a really good explanation of how we work. You can sign up and receive requests for free, and you only pay us when you send the customer a quote. Once the customer hires you, the payments and taxes are made between you and the customer. This is a great way to connect with the customer and build an extensive referral network. We wish you the best of luck with growing your business. Have an amazing day!
Answer: The reason you had a lull in leads we because thumbtack had a manual action penalty levied against them. If you are not sure what that is you should google search it. The letter you received from Thumbtack regarding this was (as usual) not fully truthful. The letter does not detail the slimy tactics thumbtack used ti enhance google rankings in organic search returns. Do yourself a favor and search this phrase "thumbtack manual action penalty"
Answer: With our recent changes, you're only charged when a customer responds to your quote with interest in working with you. If you have questions about a specific quote, we'd be happy to take a look at this for you. Just send us a message on Facebook with your email address and the customer's name.
Answer: We want to make sure you get the most out of our site and see a return on the investment you've made with us. Please give us a call at (800) 948-2034 when you have time so we can go over your concerns with us.
