We loved Mr. Patric service on arrival at Thrifty car rental location at Kona airport Hawaii. Amazing service with smile and understood our requirements and accommodate us with best options they have. I definitely recommend to everyone to everyone to book your rental car at this location without any worries
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not rent from this place. I rented a car on 4/16 they gave me a car smelling like cigarettes, the smell was so strong it was on our cloth and hair, and we also had small children in the car. To top it all I waited an hour in line to get this rental. I tried contacting them several times via phone and opening cases they never reached out to me. I paid over $513.04 for this rental and it was not worth it, their customer service is the worst, when you call they say they can't assist me. As of today, I haven't heard back from these people. Please just avoid it!
Car rental was not available with reservation. No notification from Expedia or Thirfty. After being stranded in Alanta by Southwest Airlines on a flight home car was booked to drive home. Spent $60 from airport to car rental location in uber charges to have agent tell us no cars were available. Ended up having to get another night hotel at $250 in charges before we were able to fly home the next day at $500 in airfare. Two of us lost 2 additional days of vacation time and lost wages. This failed reservation cost me close to $2000 in new expenses. Thanks, but no thanks for the great client services or lack of.
This is the worst car rental place Do Not Rent from them! They offer cheap prices to lure you in but have all these shady things they do in fine print. Read their terms because they are not standard. They take a deposit and do not give refunds. If you try to change the reservation it won't let you and then they keep all your money and do not give you the car if you don't pick it up when your suppose to. I tried to change and wasn't ever to get through and they kept 100 percent of my money and would not rent me the car that was already paid for for 9 days. These guys are crooks.
I rented a car in phl, the rudest counter personal and the worst customer service, also when returned after 4 weeks they charged me $200. For cleaning the car from sea sand when we found food and a pizza box under the seat from person before, also wife is not free to drive when "all" other rentals that i rented wife is free.
After flying into MCO and going to get my rental in Concourse B. I found out Thrifty was closed and had to go to Concourse A. I believe an announcement should have been made that it was closed in Concourse B. After backtracking and going to Concourse A the wait was approximately 2 1/2 hours before I was seen by a representative. Usual bull$#*! of having to upgrade. By this time my patients were wearing thin. I don't care about paying the extra damn money. Went out to retrieve my upgraded vehicle. I was told all the vehicles were unlocked and the keys would be in them. Complete lie ended up with a piece of $#*! vehicle that I paid too much money for after waiting in line 2 1/2 hours. Very disappointed and will NEVER rent from thrifty again! Not to mention my vehicle smelled like somebody smoked a carton of cigarettes in it. Would've given it a zero reading but that wasn't an option.
My flight was delayed. I was unable to pick the car up until the second day into the rental, due to my flight being delayed. When my plane landed at my destination on the first day of the reservation, the car rental facility was closed, which caused me to not be able to pick the car up until the second day. I contacted customer service in regards to being credited for the day we DID NOT have the car and I was refused my request. This is terrible customer service. I was penalized for a situation that was out of my control and in not so many words told, "too bad, deal with it". In the future I will take my business elsewhere.
Wanted to give this company zero stars, or less if possible. Rented a car from them. Paid in advance. Got to the rental car counter in Fort Lauderdale airport and we're told there were no cars available. Everyone in line was turned away. They wouldn't take anyone's names or information. They just stated go through the third party you rented through to get a refund. They gave zero s****. I've been trying to get a refund for over a week and have been unsuccessful. How can you charge someone for a rental car and then not give it to them? I feel like I got robbed. Paid. $330.35. Requesting a full refund. I can't believe this is even a question of whether I would get a refund or not. How can you pay for a service, not receive it, and then not get a refund? This should be illegal, this company is criminal.
I paid up front for my reservations for $329.14. When I picked up the car I was asked for my credit card.
I told the rep I prepaid for my reservations. Thrifty rep needs a card on file and. I'll get the refund for $329.14 back on my card. OH NO. After 2 months of waiting for refund of $329.14. I called Thrifty Rent a Car! By the Thrifty agent I was told I signed to have all the extras when I picked up the car. This is a crooked Company. DO NOT USE
Went To Flordia on June 24,2023. Had a car reserved. Our original quote was for about 480.00. We waited in line for 2 1/2 hours. Then another 30 minutes waiting on the car. 2 of my cards were declined because they were trying to charge more than the receipt said. WE were driving to key west plugged the exact address in that we were going, and it took us 2 hours the wrong way. When we returned, they were very rude. When I got back to Texas and checked my email, they charged my credit card $1161.13. They charged me $460.00 for outside washing and it rained every day we were there and all the way back to the airport. The need to be call Thievery Rent A Car.
Thrifty car rental are bullies in the business forcing their hidden charges unto you and when you decide to return ahead of time be prepared to pay triple the price of the day rate.
Their fees include the rental and taxes $380 usf but builled into collision which equates to the cost of the rental $240 usd and more service fees as much as $200 usd
Beware and don't be fooled move unto the next is all I can suggest.
Have you ever worried that when you got to your destination that the car rental company won't have your car? Just like the Seinfeld episode, they know how to take the reservations they just don't know how to hold the reservation. In DFW. Thrifty completely ran out of cars. This is absolutely unacceptable! People were having to wait 3 hours for people to turn cars back in. I had 5 hours to drive so waiting 3 hours put us in a real bind. We had to make other will arrangements. I will never rent Thrifty/Dollar again. They are unreliable.
TOURIST SCAM - AVOID EXPEDIA & THRIFTY
Rented a car via Expedia - when arrived at San Francisco Airport car was not available. The guy at the desk claimed they hadnt seen money from Expedia, and I could get it back afterwards from Expedia. So had to pay 1000$ (knowing I had paid 600$ to Expedia yet). To get a LOWER CLASS car.
Needless to say they DID receive the money from Expedia afterall.
Paid for DODGE RAM, got NISSAN Rogue (for an additional 1000$)
NEVER - EVER - AGAIN
I rented a car in South Africa for 10 days and it was a terrible experience. I had trouble picking up the car and delivering it, they robbed me R8000 and do not answer any email.
Thrifty is the worst service I ever paid for in my life. Do not fall for the same trap.
We have used different car rentals in the Ft Lauderdale area. Thifty was the worse. The clerk at the desk sold us the Sun Pass thelling us it was cheaper for 10.95. He didn't tell us it was 10.95 pllus taxes a day. We asked if we could return the car 2 hours later. Sure it would be only 1.75 an hour. Not telling us about the extra fees and another day for the Sun Pass. When we question this upon the return of the car, he flipped open the fine print 6 page sheets and said you should have read this before signing. We called Thrifty to complain and the supervisor was just as nasty. There are so many better choices at the airport. No problems with Budget, Payless or Dollar.
I wish I could leave them a lower review. I purchased my car rental through a 3rd party company and ended up having to pay 100% additional (almost an additional $100) for fuel, toll agreement, and additional taxes and fees! I will absolutely never use this company for a car rental again!
Best price ONLINE, then you will be scammed! $106 in my case! Don't waste your time slumming with companies like THRIFTY/DOLLAR rent a car, spend the extra $10-$20 for the peace of mind! Alamo & hertz were only a little more... a lot less than $106 more!
I got a rental through Expedia, had to cancel my trip. I could not get through to anyone for an hour. I got hold of someone at Expedia, and they could not get hold of anyone. Tried to call Thrifty at the airport I was flying into, and still couldn't get hold of anyone. Never again.
My wife and I rented paid for a mid-size suv to use in Las Vegas from February 3rd to 6th. We waited 45 minutes to get the car on ly to be downgraded to sedan which cost less than what we paid for. We did not get a refund for the excess amount we paid for the suv. The agent on duty was very rude.
Returned rental car to Thrifty car rental at Jacksonville Florida. Told ashes were on arm rest and car smelled of smoke. CHARGED $400 for smoking in car! Long story short I don't smoke! Also begs question how
are car return agents qualified are cars being sanitized according to CDC COVID-19 requirements?
Answer: Difficult, they will not provide you with a direct number from the local office you rented from
