No consistency with moderation and the worst moderation team of any site I've been on. Sorry, there is some consistency - the pathetic quality of moderation.
A horrible forum that is being choked to death by swellheaded mods. If you're not a raging racist you will be banned from the group circlejerk very quickly as differing opinions are not tolerated. If you enjoy Thai-bashing daily with people who struggle to form a sentence, Thaivisa is the place to be.
It was a decent and informative forum before it was sold to "The Nation". Now it's just a communist rag that does nothing but rail against conservatives and pushes false narratives. The forum I abandoned a long time ago due the bunch of bickering old and abusive Boomer sexpats that inhabit it, but have been keeping tabs on their news coverage - which has devolved into nonstop TDS with not much relevance to Thailand, and covid fear-porn.
Been banned off here after 11 yrs by scott and his girlfriend jingthing for basically disagreeing with a post by a person with trump derangement syndrome.
The guy said trump was an idiot and obviously suffering from a mental illness.
I replied perhaps if the 60 million+ who voted for him read your post they might think you were were theidiot and suffering from a mental illness ie trd.

The forums on this website are second to non for advice. There are so many knowledgeable people posting it is an extraordinary community.
Excellent advice about Thaiand available, but it is a commercial operation, not at all free-speech, e.g. no criticising sponsors, no discussion of moderation policy.
Have to be pretty thick-skinned, and don't mind the grumpy old whacko sexpats that dominate the forums.
A 'gang of 4' moderators ruined the website & caused it to hemorrhage long term posters of 15+ years standing. Their names are Scott, OnTheDarkSide & Metisdead (all septics, the latter being female & has the audacity to answer emails feigning sympathy as a 3rd party to complainants if they actually bother to reply) and the last one is Rimmer, They're triggerred by anything pro Trump or pro Brexit and have zero tolerance in just one direction.
Posters holding the opposite (lefty) view are given a free reign, many of whom holding multiple accounts.
I'm bloody glad they were DDoS'ed and only regret that it wasn't me.

Metishead the $#*!head - I met him in real life, he has no balls at all just as all moderators there. At first he didn't even want to tell that he is a moderator on Thavisa $hithole, but i was able to confront him and he then add to accept it. What a fag, I told him to show me his muscles, but he didn't even have a dixk, so funny, so I just slapped him and left.

Filled with coffin dodgers who came to Thailand to be sexpats but realized they have neither the money nor charisma required - and that's just the moderators.
Thaivisa dangerous forum they give your IP address to police, never connect without VPN! It happened to my friend, so be careful if you use Thaivisa and somebody is looking for you.
This forum could be rather good if it wasn't for the incredibly poor moderation. I don't think I have EVER seen a worse example of how NOT to moderate. As the rating explains, stay away, it's not worth it. Besides, a majority of posters appear to be drunkards anyway and more than likely, the moderators are handpicked amongst their friends. *sick*
The typical process for this forum is that one poster begins to troll you, hurling insults and derogatory comments - often as a result of a post where you point out that he/she is wrong. Now, as the disgusting wankers they are, the moderators won't give a flying fig, even if you report the insults. Instead, they'll come to the original wankers' rescue and will issue warnings to YOU. The intellectual capacity of the moderators on this forum truly is at a dog turd-level.
To be perfectly honest, given how the moderators on this forum have been treating people over the past ten or so years, I can't stop laughing at the prospect of watching the idiots deteriorate to garbage over the next few months. COVID-19 will give this bunch of twits exactly what they deserve. Good Riddance! It is extraordinary how the moderators allow certain posters to troll posters who provide true knowledge and facts. Seriously, are the people moderating the forum complete idiots? I am absolutely flabbergasted, this bunch of idiot-moderators have to be the biggest bunch of $#*!s I've ever experienced.

This comment from below says it all: When that old rogue George sold to Dan Cheeseman and 'Choice Media Asia' in 2015 some Mods were rewarded and the rest were regally SHAFTED. The word on the grapevine at that time was that 7 of his inner circle moderators were going to get between 500,000 and 700,000 baht as a goodwill 'thank you' gesture. All had to sign confidentiality deeds. 50% was to be paid upfront with the balance within 6 months. So the loyal servants of George that weren't one of the Lucky 7, were well and truly shafted by George. The lucky 7 were; Scott, Metisdead, Rimmer. UbonJoe, Charlie H, Crossy and Jai Dee so when they say they are not on a salary that's most probably true. Word on the ground is Dan offered them all some equity stake in the forum so if it was sold further on down the line they would realise a further profit. Hence they stay on board, create the innumerate spam posts and attempt to keep the ad revenue coming into a failing site. But they are not happy, that much is sure, and if another sale doesn't arise or the site goes for a song then all their loyal efforts will have been in vain. I've actually met Jai Dee in real life he is a respected travel writer and a good guy and as far as I know no one has a bad word to say about him.
User's recommendation: Don't visit the site.
