I had issues with the Thai branch of a well known international company which has a good reputation internationally. I was given the wrong information by their support over the phone which cost me 14,000 baht. The proof would have been in the recording of the phone call but the company refused to accept responsibility. I posted this on Thai visa for advice on what to do and was banned. How do people, especially foreigners who don't speak Thai, get help in Thailand for these types of issues? How are people warned about pitfalls of dealing with businesses? Is Thaivisa only interested in protecting large companies and not in helping the average person?

I've been a member of TV since the mid 2000, I very rarely visit now-a-days, they collect extreme amounts of information about you at each visit and are using every trick in the book, including many shady ones. I wish they could have stopped at collecting information for advertising purpose but they clearly don't. As an IT professional, I spent 2 days tracing what they collect, quite shocking. It was far beyond for advertising purpose and that raises the question: Why do they spend so much extra effort collecting your information? It's an effort that costs time and money. This website clearly uses the information to maximise profit in any way possible, not only advertising. Clear cookies after every visit ladies and gentlemen!

Moderators are very quick to ban people, especially if they disagree with your point of view.
They ban people for the slightest misdemeanours, but allow sexual deviants to post.
One poster even admits to getting his 14 year old stop daughter pregnant and to avoid any charges, he married the girls mother.
Its an on running site joke, that he now claims his step daughter is still a virgin and hes quite happy to have sex with the mother, with the step daughter and his son watching.

Questioning his behaviour will likely result in a ban for you... and not him

When George sold it to Dan I understand about 6 mods got large payouts with the promise of another share out if they stayed were it to be sold again. If that was the case you have to wonder why the likes of Scott, Rimmer, Mitisdead etc do their best to run it into the ground. Non stop deletions, suspensions and bans have left it a liberal echo chamber with no room for any opinions that go against their hyper woke prejudices. Funny thing is they don't know what is said via PM's, almost sub forums where the mods cannot look, if they could they would have a fit!

A scurrilous anti Thai scandal sheet and click bait machine. ASEAN NOW formally known as THAIVISA might be considered a platform for anti Thai racism and bigotry.
It consistently promotes a view of stupid, inferior Thais compared to superior white men especially British, American and Australian.
Anti Thai bigotry is standard and any attempt to contextualise such views are rejected.
Tellingly Media reports from International newspapers are rejected as are any attempts to introduce balance or contextualise the blog's facile reports click bait reports.
BUT it is the contributors who create the click bait outrage. Some members who seem damaged, bitter and so hate filled that they should seek help. It is their views of hate and ignorance that are gleefully promoted by the moderators.
This blog should be torn down by the Thai authorities. Its an insult to the people of Thailand.

Based on things I have been hearing, Thaivisa may not be around that much longer -- especially given online sites like this promoting it being banned... http://thai-visa.pissedconsumer.com/

The site seems filled with racists and nazi type moderation. Asking a question here often results in being abused.

James L. Is obviously part of the ThaiVisa team, almost certainly one of the moderators.
His comment "The forums on this website are second to non for advice. There are so many knowledgeable people posting it is an extraordinary community" may have been the case 10 years ago but certainly not the case today.
It has been destroyed by over-zealous mods, greedy upper management, and the many trolls who are either welcomed by the mods because they create so many clicks, or are actually mods posing as trolls under various names.
The only good posters they had have either left willingly or been banned because they did not kowtow to the Nazis who rule with and iron fist.
It's a shame such a good forum could end up so badly run.
Nice try James L. Now get back to work banning and suspending members.

This site has changed over the 10 plus years I've been a member.
It used to be a place for advice and lively debate, but now it is a haven for alt right propagandists. The various local forums are full of derogatory comments about Thais and the news forum is dominated racist and white supremacist posts.
Those who post the opposing view are not subjected to constant flaming, but also have their posts removed by the moderators; especially Rimmer, who also regularly suspends those who don't follow the alt right party line.
You may still get some helpful advice in the visa forums, once you have navigated through the numerous pop up ads.

Got banned for posting a BBC article about a journalist being threatened for his life in China, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out the moderators were actually all sitting in military uniform in Shanghai instead of actually being ex-pats in Thailand as they claim. It seems pretty clear that Thaivisa has been infiltrated by those that have a pro CCP agenda.

I was a member very early on, being new to Thailand i wanted to get to know more about the place, after many internet searching i came across ThaiVisa, i started reading the posts and found them very helpful, i decided to join as to be more interactive, then at one point i agreed with a post someone had made at which time i replied, i was banned by Scott, i protested because it was nothing to get excited about and was told not to worry it was temporary, i decided not to be part of ThaiVisa and wanted to delete my account, again i was told, it's not possible, you know that AH-HA moment, the feeling of being raped, ripped off, that's why they have so many member, many have probably died but will stay as a member forever, i'll never participate again, everything you read on this site is true, nothing more than an information harvester, your information.
The moderators are horrible Nazis.

Hi I'm Jingthing and a very famous TV poster. The forum has really become a hotbed for hate against gays and love for Donald Trump and all things conservative.
I would not recommend using this forum as the noise to real information levels have gone out the window obviously with their revenue stream.

Ciao!

I recently went on the Thaivisa website and noticed a sharp increase in the operating temp of my machine.
Conclusion... this site uses huge amounts of date gathering, advertising and malware that is using and selling your information.
It is a hard right elderly male orientated site that will stop at nothing to subject you to advertising and data gathering.

Thaivisa World News forum is bias in their moderation of comments.
Scott the moderator is actually setting the rules for the forum, while this is normal in the sense that he represents Thaivisa, But the scam comes to play when he posts as a regular member (Jingthing).

Jingthing to date has over 85,000 posts and is active since 2006. Many of his posts represent insults, trolling, nasty, flaming, derogatory comments to issues it opposes(strong left liberal views). While posting similar opposing views, Jingthing complains and the opposing comment is deleted with a warning of suspension or total banning, while his comments remain.

It's against the rules to question the mods on the forum. Beware Scott the Mod is Jingthing the poster.
I want to expose this as a scam and show possible sponsors how bias thaivisa is.

The website forum is owned by The Nation (nationmultimedia) which is a website/newspaper that is absolutely covered in annoying advertisements.
TV members are made of of bitter expats who bicker and have narrow-minded opinions.
The forum moderators have total control and appear to thrive on their power.

For example... rule 10: Do not comment on moderation publicly in the open forum; this includes individual actions, and specific or general policies and issues. This also includes posting an emoticon in response to a public notice made by a moderator.

Awful moderation.

The moderators of this site are incompetent and have favourite posters that they allow to attack others and post rubbish, whereas everyone else gets banned for the pettiest of matters. And the site is packed full of ads, AVOID AT ALL COST.

Got banned for standing up for Trump all I did was point out that Trump won and got his judge nominated to the Supreme Court! Wow the library's went mad lots of trolling then I got trolled and I got banned by Scott for trolling a gay guy called king thing I had never geared of.

If they can't stand the fact not everyone is a libtard then they should not be moderating an internet discussion site.
