I tried to go on the website, but it prompted me to download it onto the Google toolbar which I left. Apparently there is no way to get on the website without downloading it on the Google toolbar.
Pple here are so $#*!ing funny you know it a scam cause you are on this website and still they complaining the creditcards they gave to the scammer was not accapted
Newsflash it was accepted by the rusians they sell your info to np XD
Stay away from this SCAM! They will rob you blind! Why don't people take like 30 seconds before you install anything that is and find out the reputation of the product? Stay away from these scamming websites, it's easy to do your research on 3rd party websites with a good reputation. It took me less than 30 seconds to do my research with confidence. Also stay away from sponsored Ads from google searches. They are the first websites at the top usually two to four URL's, and one or two at the bottom that has an (Ad) in front of the website URL. There are scams on many sites, not just trashy website URL's.
I hope this helps someone!
Why you rip people off. How bout if someone comes to your house and just takes what they like.
Before I knew anything about Television Fanatic's track record, I did sign up with them. Lo and behold one or two months later a charge appeared on my credit card for some recurring program -- Sports, no less. Funny since I hate sports of any kind. It got straightened out, but had I not caught this proposed theft, I would have been charged the fee month after month for all eternity.
I went to watch TVLand.com and in order to watch anything on that page you have to download/upload? Tvfanatic, glad I came to sitejabber first.
I clicked a download to download ez video editor. Somehow it took me to a webpage to down load television fanatic Thankfully I remembered the name from Site Jabber. Your sight is now on my favorite list. A lot of these 'free' downloads are down right deceitful and border on criminal. Television Fanatic is one of them.
It says it is free but it is not free. Then it said to give credit card info even though it is free. I gave two different CC's and it turned down both. Crazy! I have great credit and used one earlier today.
I have 2 friends who downloaded this and both regretted it. Malware/virus combination is what it appears to be. If you want a real option, that is legal Hardware that allows you to view ALL streaming content and is serviced and updated by a real company, you have to pay for it. Duh. But only one time. No monthly bills after that. And importantly, never download unknown software on your computer. On FB there's a page named kill my tv bill. Good info on how to cut the cord with cable and satellite tv.
How is it on this site under the 1st negative review? There is a bold Live TV televisonfanatic. Xxx not putting the. Com shame on them! *LESSON "FREE=SCAM"
Regarding TelevisionFanatic.com, the first thing I want to say is: SHAME ON YouTube for allowing this thing on their website!
Even though the thought of "This is too good to be true" was rattling around in the back of my mind, I was about 2 seconds away from clicking the "Install" button on TelevisionFanatic.com, when it hit me: "Google this thing first, you big dummy!" Boy, am I glad I did!
Granted, all I have to go on are the reviews on Sitejabber, but, out of the dozens of reviews I read, there were NO positive ones. They all said basically the same thing: "Don't do it, This thing is bad/virus, Cannot get it off my computer", etc.
My only regret is that I had to give it 1 star to write this.
Thank goodness for Sitejabber!
I have Chrome OS (Chromebase) and I cannot get this horrible malware off my browser! Every time I open up a new tab, this damn thing appears instead of the pure Google search page that is supposed to open up. Some one needs to destroy these damn people!
Tried going to the site to download it, couldn't even get there because luckily the nanny software on my computer blocked it. The reason? It is literally categorized as "Spyware/ Malware Sources". Wow.
Consumers are calling television fanatic a virus. These charges are coming from consumers at various websites. How come television fanatic doesn't come out and rebuke these charges vigorously? They don't because they are true. That's my conclusion.
Virus with a legit-sounding name. DO NOT download this software!
This the best review site I've been to. I was happy I did not download the televisionfanatic.com Instead I purchased a ROKU and signed up with HULU Plus and Netflix. I was able to cut my cable from $135 to under $20 with my elected subscriptions and there are still hundreds of FREE channels covering about any subject imaginable. I can access almost all my channels on my PC, laptop, tablet and smart phone and feel safe doing so. Thanks again Jabber for saving me time and money.
I can't thank you all enough for giving me the heads up on this HORRIBLE nightmare of a "free" good time download. WOW! Television fanatic isn't even worthy of 1 star! It's a good thing my AVG told me to get out before it was too late!
Thanks for posting, while I can watch "TV" on my labtop and smart phone I never seen it done on a PC scale without a TV tuner card being needed. Was tempted but something inside of me pass on this.
I worked for IAC (parent company) and can tell you that marketers there are paid to plant reviews here. Easy to tell, they're all the more than one star reviews.
It's a browser hijacker. It's an ask.com trojan. The EULA says they collect your personal data and give it to "other IAC companies". Look that up in wiki. Would you want ANY of those people having your name, address, phone, etc?
Answer: Just read the reviews do not download... STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE...
