I just ordered a TackleDirect saltwater spinning boat rod. The rod is freaking great love it. It came on time in good condition no issues.
So first off. Customer service is amazing this I believe was just a nightmare out of anyone's control.
Here's what happened.
I wanted to venture into the higher end for once to see the difference between a 40 dollar rod and a 200 dollar rod. So I got a megabass levante 2019. Long story short it's a better looking rod than a fishing rod. Snapped on the second cast from the weight of a rapala dt6. Confused and angry i called up support. The guy I talked to understood completely and we took the steps to getting the broken one rma and a new one to me. But the model was out if stock so we got something similar. Anyway about 2 weeks later I get my new megabass levante. Its storming like crazy in OK. So about a week later i tie a Texas rigged senko on. And on the very first cast. It snaps again pulling the worm out if a lillypad. I call again. And decide that maybe I should give up on the levante line. And switch to a st croix mojo bass. Found the right one and with some more help from the great customer service. I know it seems like I'm being sarcastic. I'm not. These guys are actually great. So. I choose a medium heavy fast action mojo bass one piece. And it came with a free hat too why not. I mentioned it to the rep and he said sure I'll add a note for the hat. Cut to over 2 weeks later and I get the mojo in the mail. It's a two piece and no hat. I figured instead of complaining about anything at this point I should just be happy with what I've got and I love the mojo bass. Just wish it was the one piece I ordered.
Answer: Yes, other companies I have used for online purchases are much better with communications and customer service.
