I ordered 16 small stuffed animals for birthday party favors on 11/13. The next day I received an email saying there would be a delay with my order as some items were out of stock. Fine, I didn't need the items until 12/14. On 11/28 (maybe 11/29) I called to inquire about my shipment and they told me that two of the items were still delayed and they would ship the rest of my order first, and then ship the other two items separately after. Great! I got an email stating my order had been shipped on 12/3 and received it on 12/6. Two items were missing, and on the invoice they were marked "discontinued, refunded". This was not okay since I needed 16 items for 16 children. I placed a new order that night and then called the next day to ask if they could refund the shipping, since given the choice, I would clearly have chosen to substitute two items instead of being refunded. The woman on the phone was quite snippy and kept telling me that they had given me a coupon already (they had, but it was for 10% which worked out to a couple dollars, and that coupon is easily discoverable online), and they could not refund my $9 shipping. In the end I resigned myself to paying $9 shipping which is a very high percentage of my total cost, due to their poor customer service decision of not giving me the choice of a substitution in the original order. I only hope that the new order will actually arrive on time.
I ordered jumbo pink fox plush and it was exactly as I wanted it. Very soft and cute! They didn't send shipping details but it came in less than a week.

I have made several purchases from this company without any problems. I like them because they have well made, affordable products. Shipping has always been done in a timely manner. I recommend them.
I ordered a very simple item for my grandson's birthday - paid what seemed like a lot of money for shipping and paypal'd the amount.
Everything was great until I get a call from my daughter (on the other side of the country) that they rec'd a shipment - but it wasn't what I ordered. In fact - the invoice actually listed another person's name and credit card info as the purchaser on it. Perplexed, my daughter called this person on the invoice (that we had never heard of) and asked how he knew her child.
Meanwhile, I called this company. The "customer service person" said that was very odd and didn't actually understand what I was trying to explain. I had to explain it twice to her - and then I ended up talking to the owner of this family own business - who still didn't understand what had happened and I had to explain to her that they actually put someone else's name on my order. (HOW does it even occur that someone else's name, address and credit card info ends up with MY order's shipping information? I have no clue - and she couldn't explain it, either)
Bottom line - BE CAREFUL. Know what you are dealing with.
"Family owned" in this case appears to mean "run out of a basement" with very little in the way of checks and balances to assure quality or accurate delivery/shipment - if my experience is any indication.

Do not order from this site. They never send the product out and never answer your calls. You are then not allowed to cancel your order. Buyer beware!
The shipping was fast however the product was awful. The 18" stuffed lion I ordered for my daughter's birthday was full of holes along the seams. I noticed it as soon as I took it out of the box and I loved it so much that I asked my mother to patch the hole. Well after she patched that one I literally picked the lion up and found another hole. Like none of the seams were completely sewn together. I emailed stuffed safari and sent them pictures of the defective product so they did send me another free of charge. The second lion did not have any issues with the seaming but the shape of the head is rather oblong and looks defective and the nostrils are different sizes. I feel like the prices are cheap because the product is faulty. My lesson was only buy from a reputable website in the future, not an internet unknown.
For those saying people just like to complain, know this is the only negative review I have ever written and I am only writing because I was so disappointed by the quality of these lions and they were gifts. I would hate to see a little kid be disappointed because their most coveted gift is literally falling apart.
I got an iguana (stuffed) to go with a child's real one - he was thrilled.
And I got a huggable-sized teddy bear for a friend recovering from surgery. She LOVED it.
I loved this place. Every single purchase I've made has been adorable, high quality, and the shipping is so fast with friendly customer service.

Order placed on Jan. 22 no replies to emails or phone calls regarding status of order. Had to contact VISA for charge reversal.

I ordered twice from this site. Both times for items for my daughter's baby shower. The first order was acknowledged and then I was advise that it would ship within a week to a week and a half. It arrived in about 2+ weeks but that was plenty of time for the shower. On March 21st I ordered 3 additional items from them. Once again I received an acknowledgement followed by an email saying that the items would ship in a week to a weekend and a half. On April 6th I called customer service and explained that the items were time sensitive and needed by April 12. I was assured that the items would ship on Monday, April 9th and be received by the 11th or 12th.
On April 12th I received an email telling me that the items had shipped that morning. Obviously, they weren't going to do me any good when received. A subsequent email told that the item would be received by the 14th. They weren't.
Although the website seems to have a great selection I cannot recommend the site. Their customer service is not helpful and the "family" that runs the business seems to think cunstomers' needs cam and should be ignored.
Use this site at your peril.
I originally placed an order for a 5 FT. Alfie Teddy bear on the 8th of Sept. 2011. I am in Afghanistan, so I ordered it for my wife as an anniversary present which was the 12th. The shipping listed was for 3 day delivery. I have yet to receive my product, today is the 28th. After receiving my email from them….
"Thank you for your recent purchase of brand name quality stuffed animals from www.StuffedSafari.com! We're emailing to inform you that due to an unexpected demand for one of the items that you ordered, the processing time on your order may be slightly longer than our average 1 to 3 days. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."
I was disappointed that it would not be delivered on time, but because I understand that unforeseen events transpire I decided to continue with the wait for my order. In the mean time I actually gave them a second chance…. I ordered all 16 of the Lubies as a birthday gift for my niece. 2 were permanently out of stock (yet still listed as in stock on the site). I received half the order almost on time, and the other half lists as shipped but there is no tracking information affiliated with the number they provided me. Shortly after placing this order I called to check the status of my first order and the woman said it would ship in a week… 2 weeks later order status still says processing and I am now trying to get a call in during their 6 hour window of office hours to cancel my order and ask for a refund. Being in Afghanistan makes this difficult. I would take advantage of their "Change/Cancel order" option on their website but all it does is re-routes you to your "order status" page which has no options available to cancel your order from. I informed the woman on the phone of my current situation, but I guess dodging rockets, IEDs, and suicide bombers is not enough to warrant prompt service or sympathy from these folks. The purpose of me buying the 5 ft bear for my wife was to provide her with a little more comfort at night while I am away. If America is in a recession how is it that businesses can afford to perform at this level of competence. I will not do business with this company again.
I honestly don't know why this website has such horrid reviews and by the looks of the reviews, it honestly seems like people just don't know how to shop on the internet and then have one bad experience and make a review about it because loyal shoppers never seen to make good reviews. I honestly felt the need to order from this website to either see if the service was that awful or just that it's nobody knows how to online shop. I review as a hobby I can also say. I review restaurants I've visited that are ran by family business just as I have reviewed the variety of products I've bought since I've purchased many, many things over the years online from plushes, to games, to DVD's, to jewelry, and much more from a variety of websites and I can guarantee you that 95% of these websites are all about customer service because if customers aren't happy, they don't make money.
This business is family owned and they care very much about their customers. Which should be blatantly obvious that Shannon has taken her time to create an account here and responds to the various reviews on here. If that doesn't cry, "I care about my customers!" Then I honestly don't get what does. As an eBay AND Amazon seller myself, I can vouch that sellers do try very hard and mistakes may happen as I've made some mistakes when selling online as well.
As from my own experience, I HAVE received emails from them. They're automatic, so if you didn't receive them... You flat out don't know how to internet and misspelled your email. I ordered a plush on sale that was the very last one in stock on Saturday late in the afternoon and it was shipped this afternoon (Monday) via Fedex with a tracking number. I call that fast service since there's no post on Sunday. The first email summed up said, "Thanks for your order. Here is order number." & it CLEARLY stated it usually takes 1-3 business days to process the order and up to 10 when very busy. Shipping time is NEVER a seller's fault. You need to call USPS, UPS, Fedex, etc. My second email stated that it was shipped and provided a tracking number. Mind you, each number stated that you can always email them or call their toll free number, which again... cries out, "I care for my customers!"
Take it from someone who orders from China often, I wait weeks for packages sometimes, but the website always sends the package out the next day. It has to go through customs if you live in another country and it's still the shipping company's job to get it to you.
Five out of five stars for this website who has an organized website, a great customer service, and ships items out fast.

Answer: Hi Mary! The cat does have a setup inside to make a purring sound. There is a bit of a learning curve to the sound device in order to produce a realistic-sounding purr. The sound maker consists of what I am guessing is a ball inside of the puppet (it's inside the puppet so it can't be seen). The ball rolls back and forth across what sounds like a ribbed surface to make a purr-like noise. Answer: Hi Sonya! Duties are charged by the country that the item is being imported into, not the retailer that is shipping the item. We do not collect any duties or taxes for Canada, but depending on the size of the order and where you are located, it is possible that the Canadian government or your local government may charge a duty fee when they deliver your package. You would need to contact your local customs office to find out what your local thresholds and duties are. You asked in your question if we could justify the emails regarding "regarding snippy customer service, late arrivals, misinformation on stock of orders, and horrifying return policy". In instances where we have genuinely disappointed customers, any justification that I could give really doesn't apply. If we failed, we should fix it - plain and simple. And in these instances, we did work to fix it to the customers' satisfaction, but unfortunately it's not often that someone will make the effort to come back to a review site and update their post. I can tell you we will do what is necessary to remedy a problem, whether that means disciplining an employee, bringing in deeper amounts of inventory, moving to a bigger warehouse, changing vendors, etc. We are always looking for ways to improve our business for our customers. Regarding your concerns about the quality of our items, please note that we do not manufacture the items ourselves. We are actually an authorized retailer of brand name plush made by some of the largest plush companies in the world. Our merchandise is all new, first quality plush direct from the manufacturer. The items that are available on our website are the exact same brands and quality as are sold on the large online retailers and in gift shops and stores nationwide.
Regarding our pricing, we do our best to price competitively with the large online retailers. Our low prices are not because of an inferior quality product- the product is exactly the same and comes from the same source. We ship hundreds of thousands of stuffed animals every year which helps to lower the prices. Our staff is also all located in our warehouse and are very efficient, which also helps to keep prices down.
Our shipping staff hand packs every order checks all items before they ship, but they can miss defects such as the one you received. We would never intentionally ship out a item with defects, and always strive to keep our customers happy and take care of any issues that arise.
Because stuffed animals are filled with poly stuffing, they can occasionally settle a bit when they are packed in a box and shipped. Usually a bit of reshaping will take care of it - simply move the stuffing around by squeezing it. If you could send us photos of the second lion or post them here, it would help me to identify if this might be the issue, or if we should contact the manufacturer regarding a problem with the production or design.
