THEY NEVER CHECK CREDIT CARD HOLDERS THAT THEY AUTHORIZE, STRIPE SEND YOU YOUR PAYOUT AND THEN TELL YOU THAT THE CREDIT CARD IS FRAUDULENT: RESULT YOU LOSS YOUR MONEY AS THEY NEVER TAKE RESPONSABILITIES ON MISTAKES THEY DO
Stripe is merely a payment process center. I was able to set up my account over a year ago but now they want a url, or personal information. THEY ARE THE MIDDLE MAN. Chase business account and GorillaDesk are my avenues of information yet Stripe (a payment processing company) are holding my payments because they need information I gave them over a year ago. BUYER BEWARE, THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY, I WILL BE CHANGING TO ANOTHER PROCESSING COMPANY AS SOON AS I GET MY DAMN PAYMENT!
We have been working with stripe they withhold almost 300k USD from us we have the proof, that clients did a chargeback and after we communicate with them they change the chargeback to a payment true their bank stripe is still mentioning it as a chargeback they are crooks stealing merchants funds
They do nothing for merchants other than take their money
Many start-ups get killed by these crooks
This is the worst experience humanly possible I've never felt such pain and stress and headache dealing with this company at one point I felt like I wanted too tear my head off
Stripe is the absolute worst nightmare... everything is a nightmare... signing in is a nightmare, it is extremely complicated and not user friendly in anyway. Its dated and zero support.
Do not work with them. I repeat, do not work with them. They will legally steal your money. They work with the banks together to do you dirty. Be ware
After a few weeks of payouts they informed me they asked me to provide some documents to them re authorisation. 5 hours later before I could oblige I got a wix message that my stripe account was closed and all my customers were refunded (a few thousand) (all the items were already shipped)
Emailed and they said once the account is closed everyone gets refunded and I should contact the customers to try and get them to pay again.
After embarrassingly contacting a few everyone stated they weren't ever refunded.
Contacted Stripe again to get more information for the customers and now stripe magically has NO RECORD of my account
IF I DIDN'T GET THE MONEY, NEITHER DID THE CUSTOMERS STRIPE JUST STOLE THE MONEY!
I am in the process of contacting my lawyer this is such a shocking scam please be careful and lawyer up before using them
Used Stripe through Freshbooks recently. I normally just receive checks and cash from clients but due to Covid more clients want pay by Credit. I signed up for Stripe because I couldn't find WE pay on Freshbooks. Which is what we usually use other than Pay Pal. When I signed up it didn't mention anything at all about risk assessments and that I needed a social media account or that they hold on to 25% of your payment for 2 months because of a risk assessment because of what type of business. I was caught off guard! I am a general contractor custom build Finish Carpentry. I'm a small business. They have responded to me but will not close my account and give me $500 due to me. They keep saying it is to mitigate any disputes with customers who may want charge back. After 2 months they will reassess? This is BS and nonsensical as I an Bonded and insured and if a client is unhappy they call me and I work it out with them. I have savings to repay a client for any issues that may arise. After sensing documentation and telling them all this they still refuse to send MY money and close thia dreadful account! I now called Freshbooks for help and they have been great and agreed with me that this sis not seem right. I have contacted a lawyer about how they advertise the use of their service and fees and then suddenly they are emailing about risk crap. Ive never had a client request money back and my reviews are excellent and ive been in business licensed since 2014. Don't use them at all! Be careful! They will hold money based on a risk and give no details.
Very bad service. I had a business selling used apple products which I would not have invoices or an authorization from Apple. To make a long story short the sent me an email stating that they not able to send payouts to my bank without proof of being authorized by apple. I explained I was unaware that I had to be authorized to sell used products. A day later I got an email that seemed like they were going to help. They falsely told me that if I send in my Id that they would resume my payouts immediately. Well that never happened. Then 2 days later they asked for a link to my store and I told them that I no longer have the store operational since I weren't able to get payouts for sells. Once again they acted like they were going to help. 2 days later I checked my payouts and found out they put all my money in a 90 day reserve. They never emailed me about the change now my payouts are scheduled for may 1st. How on earth they expect you to run a business on them terms. I was honest andupfront but they seem to not care. I been talking with attorneys and they think I may have a case. They have over $4800 from sales tied up which put a strain on my business and was my only source of income.
Stripe recently held a $2000 customer payment that was made on September 22nd, 2023. This was my first invoice paid on the account. They originally said it would be seven days to process, then it became two months, and now it is 120 days from the time the payment was processed. This is my money, my customer's money and Stripe had no right to enact such an absurd policy. After some research and speaking with some other merchants, I am finding that the list of issues with STRIPE is continuing to grow. I have reported Stripe to the Federal Trade Commission and plan to do what I can to protect businesses and consumers from Stripe's consumer and merchant abusive policies. It appears they have gotten too big and think they can do whatever they want to people. This is America and no bank or processing company has a right to hold money hostage that belongs to the merchants and the consumer. We must stop these institutions from exercising the control of financial resources which is in fact the definition of communism.

Costomer servise sucks, its so inconsistent with when it will release your hard earned money. Theres NO customer service number! And turno forces me to use it with absolutely no other option.
Been using Stripe for a little over a year. I used Stripe only for the simple convince of it being integrated with my Estimate software. Things went well until recently when they starting holding all my funds for not being able to get on my website. When I contacted the support team of stripe, they started the conversation by saying that they were recording our conversation. I responded by saying that was fine and I as well was recording the conversation. Their response was that they were no longer able to continue the conversation because I was recording and hung up.
I went through several support team members trying to resolve their claim of not being able to get on my website.
The support team is locate outside of the US. They told me that I had to grant them access to my website. I responded that there was no restrictions on the website and confirmed it with my web administrator. I ask them what country they were from trying to access my website... They wouldn't tell me!
I requested a refund to all the customers that they are holding funds on. Holding my breath that they do it.
Ask about pricing 2 different person give 2 different price, spent 40 min before they give me price option. You need to work for your costumer service.
I've had Stripe for 2 years and never had a problem UNTIL I tried to add Ko-Fi on. What a nightmare. I couldn't get the two to connect so reached out to Stripe. The last email they sent me was that they wanted me to handwrite on a piece of paper the day's date and hold it up to a camera with my ID and take a picture of it so they could verify it was me. WTH does today's date on paper have to do with IDing me? And since I'm a 2-year ESTABLISHED user, what is there to identify?
Yet, I signed up Buy Me A Coffee and things got set up right away. AND THEY USE STRIPE. Two different tip jars, both use Stripe yet I couldn't get one to connect and needed to stand on my head to get them to even look at it, and the other didn't even need human intervention.
Stripe is lucky that their system handles the bulk of the work because their human staff suck.
I buy digital goods from rainnetworks which using stripe as payment gateway, and because of wrong purchasing product, rainnetworks refund me via stripe. The money was never coming back to me, I've ask stripe about this, there is no helpfull support from them about my refund. Asking rainnetworks, which does not help at all regarding my refund transaction. Avoid this scam payment gateway, DO NOT USE THEM. They will never help you with your transaction, and if you must cancel your transaction, YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR FUND BACK. Avoid at all cost if your store were using Stripe as payment gateway (They use different names when you are paying, but when refund they use Stripe.com). Scammers, I hope they get class action from lots of people who getting scammed by them. Karma will work someday. If I can give minus rating for them, I WILL!
This company is unacceptable how they are doing Business. I have been waiting over 6 weeks to have my payout or money refunded to customer and they have not yet refunded. When trying to reach the company they respond with the same answer, Due to the current status of your account, we won't be able to pay out the remaining balance on your Stripe account at this time—these funds will be held in reserve to fund any necessary refunds or future disputes. But why, I have never had any issues with this stripe account and recieved one payment for almost $300 for an order and they did not release the funds. I have to end up paying the customer for items I couldn't order because Stripe is holding the money for no apparent reason. I was referred to this place by a Mall business owner, but If I had read all the horrible reviews I would have never opened up an account. I even went back to the Mall to let the store know how they conduct business and let them read the reviews and now they are considering closing their accounts as well. This is ridiculous but I did contact the BBB and they told me about other disputes and said to file a complaint. It's horrible that I have to result to this but due to the circumstances it needs to be done. People need to know not to trust them if they have a great business and are doing well with other platforms receiving their revenue. Don't open up an account with the place.
THEY GOING TO CHARGE YOU MONEY WITHOUT PAYING ANYTHING, WITHOUT GETTING PAID, THEY STEAL YOUR BANKING INFORMATIONS AND THEY HAVE USELSS SUPPORT TEAM, YOUR BANKING ACCOUNT IN DANGER, I EVEN DELETED MY PHISICAL BANK ACCOUNT BECAUSE OF THEM
Stripe is the BIGGEST SCAM.
THEY WILL APPROVE THE ACCOUNT FIRST OUTRIGHTLY & ONCE THEY SEE FUNDS IN YOUR ACCOUNT, WILL CLOSE THE ACCOUNT & KEEP THE FUNDS WITH THEMSELVES.
THEY WILL EMAIL YOU THAT THEY ARE REFUNDING BACK BUT WILL NEVER REFUND & BLOODY FEED THEIR FAMILIES WITH IT.
Working with stripe has being a bad experience, withholding funds and customer service will ask you to wait and close your issue, they can do better!
I charged a 5 large sums for a government contract. The last charge they've held 4 weeks and still on hold. No unauthorized charges per customer
Answer: Hi Jon, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with disputes -- they can be frustrating! Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. This process is facilitated by credit card networks, but Stripe helps with this process by submitting evidence that you provide, such as tracking numbers. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction. It can be tricky for even experienced businesses to understand how to handle a dispute, so we've spent time documenting the various circumstances under which a payment can be disputed, and how best to handle each -- I'd recommend taking a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes to learn more. Please also take a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes#how-can-i-prevent-disputes to learn more about preventing disputes. I hope this helps shed some light on our approach here. Again, I'm sorry that dealing with disputes are frustrating. Stripe actively dedicates resources to making this problem better and, over time, go away entirely. We can certainly look into your account and these specific disputes, if you'd like, if you send us a message at https://support.stripe.com/email.
Answer: These are the most significant crooks in the industry but they will get what they deserve I joined a group how will exposed there behavior. It is impossible that they can keep on operating and not get arrested
