Terrible customer service. It worked fine for the first payout, then stopped to verify account details, which were all correct. But we could not contact them, and they were absolutely no help during this. I had to go through another company with an in with the managers. Even then, it was terribly slow and little to no progress. I have no idea how this company deals with companies' money. If you're looking into using this company, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. They are NO help, they don't even attempt to help you with problems.
We used Stripe in a fundraiser to bring hemp to Ethiopia. It's early stages, raising money for paperwork. We were rejected for being "cannabis related," we appealed, we lost and were given a deadline to cease using Stripe for this purpose. We complied with the deadline, but Stripe kept the funds raised before the deadline.
An account was created in Stripe for my company. We did not authorize the account. It was a scam. I tried contacting support or sales, but the only response to me has been to go online to contact support or sales. But there is no way to call or email Stripe to remove the account. Their responses are only emails to go to their website. But there is no way to find out why they created a fraudulent and unauthorized account. Too bad.
Our account has been denied when we are not a telemarketing company, do no use stripe, the customer service team will no respond and will block you account. (Especially to minorities).
Stripe, unlike PayPal, does not take responsibility for scams or products not received. I bought a mobile scooter which I have not received. I have no recourse through stripe, to get my money back.
When using stripe you don't need to put full card details to collect donations. Very simple to use I use it. Stripe and been steeling thousands of money from people's bank accounts. They simple but they are scammers
Clueless staff and systems which decided that we we were a Negative response marketing and telemarketing company (which they do not permit to use facility) when in reality this could not be further from the truth.
Its a classic case of a poorly programmed computer, and the computer says no!
The customer service team were completely dis-interested in providing any assistance.
Go elsewhere - there are cheaper and more flexible facilities available.
Really bad, they hold 50% of your funds for 3 months with no explanation of how they determined this amount.
They close accounts at a whim and they don't help with chargebacks, in fact, 2% chargeback rate and they shut you down but hold your money hostage for months.
I cannot begin to explain my frustration with this platform. I signed up as a porcessor for my vacation rentals and have had nothing but headaches from the start. Many payments came back as disputed, so they clearly have no way of securing payments. They finally flagged my business as "risky". My business is not risky at all, it was your incompetence that led to me losing 6 disputed payments. See screenshot of over $6k in lost disputes in ONE day. Stay away and join Lynnbrook if you are in the vacation rental business, they have been amazing so far!

Beware! This company is horrible and stealing business owners money.I have been going back n forth fighting to get my money that they're still giving reasons that doesn't even make sense. You're not able to speak with a live representative and they communicate through emails that takes days to respond with the same generated responses. This company isn't US but using US addresses, which makes it difficult. It's horrible and They need a lawsuit. Secure your money
I have a friend who actually works at Stripe so I thought it would be a good company to use form my merchant processing. However, I have only run into 14 -10 day processing payment times using ACH, unknown merchant fees, and horrible customer service. I would stay away from this company. It is not merchant friendly.
Pathetic, they will onboard you saying that they will accept the payments, but once customer pays you and if they feel there is an issue, they will hold the money and give only 5 days to justify. Their onboarding process is the only one which is good, but later too many payments fail and for the payments that succeed they don't pay you out. Don't go for it.
Stripe Has Failed to deliver our payments for more then 40 days! While in the contract funds should arrive within 48 working days. Zero Support from their side, not even an email! And Still they are Charging us TOTAL FEES. All Stripe Payment Attempts has failed for the past 40 days, Regarding the bank Messages to correct the errors, and our tons of Emails to correct the errors. So far we have 7 failed attempts of more then 4000 euros. Zero Support from STRIPE SIDE.
And after struggle, a Support through 3rd party ( SITEMINDER) was able to communicate with them. Promising to fix the issue. Still PENDING.
We Are for sure Changing our Payment Gateway to a more Reliable one after this Finaical Crisis is Resolved.
PS: while setting up STRIPE we have added all the correct details and the payments were coming in for the first 2 months regularly. And then NOTHING.
Talked to Support and they stopped responding to emails. Holding over 11k of my funds. Call in and they refer to their "Internal team" via email only. Internal team doesn't help and doesn't give a reason why they are holding the funds or how to remove the hold.
I was having an issuing verifying through their system to change my bank account. They told me an Id would suffice instead. Sent it in and after back and forth of completing what they asked she tells me to repeat the first step(which I was having issues with) makes no sense right? I lost it a whole 3 weeks to go back to square 1? So I declined further help after the rep kept repeating the same thing. Timmy reached out to me to further help, I sent an email back… and it went to their non response mail box. I emailed again, 2 days nothing. I had to go on social media for a response where I wanted a supervisor. Two days more back of forth scheduling a call. Michael called me today where he verified a few things that you can look at my account and was verified already through email just to tell me he'll review and get back to me through email. Again lost it, why is it this took a month just to try to change my bank payout. I wanted a supervisor immediately. He then goes on to tell me he can't message the supervisor cause he don't have a computer and just a phone. What kinda unprofessional nonsense is this? They knew I was having issues and you sent a buffer to call me down and make me go through this endless loop of emails again. He proceeded to hang up on me mid sentence. This place is a nightmare.
I needed this done by Sunday because I have money in this account for my birthday and apparently I'll never get to it at this rate because of the incompetence run around.
Don't bother with them. If I'm unable to get the money in a few weeks. I'll see them in smalls claim for delaying and holding up my money.
Stripe support in one line: 30 Days, 20 Emails & Finally contradict & Desert Your Customer
The issue was: Stripe decided to withdraw/suspend the issuing capability in my account. There was no notification in account section about impending suspension other than 1 email which I missed due to 100s of payment notifications from Stripe.
I only asked them to extend the timeline for using issuing temporarily as there were no adequate notifications.
Your stripe support team was assuring me for more than a month that they were looking into the issue. Yes, more than a MONTH.
At one point Nora from Stripe issuing said "Confirming we were able to enable Issuing Top Up functionality for your account as requested."
But when I checked the account I could not find any issuing capabilities. When I approached for clarification, she said "For context, our team reviewed your request to enable Top Ups temporarily. Our team provided confirmation that the Top Up functionality for Issuing would be re-enabled, though I see this option is still not available to you in the Dashboard, so I have followed up with our internal teams to flag this"
Despite confirming that temporarily they have enabled issuing capability, it was not done so and after repeated follow ups, I am being told by Nora "Thank you for your patience here and apologies for the back and forth. Unfortunately, after an additional review, our team has confirmed that we will be unable to reinstate the Issuing capabilities on your account. "
My grievance is:
1) Should have been proper notification about impending suspension / withdrawal of service.
2) Nora from Support team, despite assuring that they have enabled the issuing functionality, they have not done. Dysfunctional / lack of coordination between teams affecting customers?
35 days of waiting & over 20 emails and at the end they are only contradicting what they have assured
THEY NEVER CHECK CREDIT CARD HOLDERS THAT THEY AUTHORIZE, STRIPE SEND YOU YOUR PAYOUT AND THEN TELL YOU THAT THE CREDIT CARD IS FRAUDULENT: RESULT YOU LOSS YOUR MONEY AS THEY NEVER TAKE RESPONSABILITIES ON MISTAKES THEY DO
Our site was shut down due to scam micro payments to our nonprofit. Zero help or contact from Stripe. They just shut us down. Never again with these guys (who are scammers by the way if they are a form of payment and don't provide any service then shut your site down). No matter what it says you will not get any help ever.

Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction.
