I'm a journalist writing a story about SpeedDate.com. There is far more to this story than people realize, although I'm not at liberty to say at this time. I can say it involves the US Federal Dept of Justice and the FBI.
I'm writing an article about this company and on some of the scams they have perpetrated. I would therefore like to speak with you for an interview about your experiences. The only way to stop this from happening to other people is to stop them.

I read a review of it under good dating site, said limited services on free, so I joined. One can practically do nothing on free, can't respond to emails ( feel sorry for the guys who contact me, but I put a reference on my profile of Mingle 2 on there and hope it stays on there.) According to other reviews one says that they take money from you without you giving your account number, I think they may not have a paid account but Speed Dating tricks you by saying you can verify your account by only spending. 99 and then charging you over $100 for one year. My complaint is not about the charges as I was smart enough not to give them any cc info (don't see how they can charge without you giving your cc info first but I used a fake first name and inaccurate birth date) but even as a free member, there is no way to filter the type of mate you want, if you are a certain age, they will ONLY let you see the mates the same age you are (which knowing the penchant men have for younger woman must be a REAL disappointment-so warning you, men LQTM) and you can't deactivate or cancel your account (ANOTHER warning, there may be a lot of members there who are no longer active.) Also I find THIS rather humorous, I posted a couple of pics, one is a distance shot where can't see my face too clearly as a Playboy bunny for Halloween (it was taken 30 years ago as was put on there as joke as explained in my MUCH more comprehensive Mingle 2 profile) and a full face one taken more recently and they removed that one, guess they felt it was too ugly!

I was on speed date of June of last year for a premium discount for $10•32 per month so I was told on a reasonable but they claiming that I don't have a record of my account and and service the proof that I have is on paper my account number or premium number, when I got my check I notice and suspected I'm short of over one hundred and something cause of this matter, shame on speed date, I called up customer service and the guy English is not that good shame on that person(s)I requested to have my service terminated that person refused cause my account expired next year 2016 that's way too long shame on them once again finally men's women girls boys don't try speed date cause they will leave anybody stuck with services and take a chunk of your hard earned working money.

I dont pay for it, but I wondered why there r girls sending me message to my number. At first, they said hi; then they told me they r from Texas but then right now r in Nigeria taking care of granny. And they started to tell life story how their parents were dead for various reasons. They called me baby because they complimented me saying that "you are so handsome"; then after some time, they asked for help, in other words: money. How funny. What an idiot joke they made.

Crooks stay away! I wanted the 1 month(31.99)they took 1 year(155.40) talked to a lady, was told payment went threw already.no refund, no supervisor. Bunch of scammers!

I enrolled for the three-day trial, but prior to the three days ending, one month's membership fee ($49.99) was withdrawn from my bank account. I contested it and requested a refund, but speeddate.com refused. The site is terrible and it is a scam. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!

This is a scam website, they stole 155.40 out of my acct and I am on SSDI. I am posting this because I am going to discuss this with a class action attorney.

I have never used or frequented this site but had recently come across a similar date/adult site which did much the same... in fact this one site would then bombard you w a host of similar sites... and would give you "free" 3 mo. Subscriptions to them... and then they would all charge you a monthly fee and were almost impossible to shut down... i eventually ended up closing my bank acct and moving on to another bank entirely! I later did some resarch and found out that many of these sites were owned by a foreign company... i forget the name... and they had tons of complaints and pending litigation actions against them... since that time i almost exclusively search on free dating websites like Plenty of Fish and such and ignore any adds w super model like beauties that live only a "few miles away" and try to lure you to one of these deathtrap sites... buyer beware!

Nothing but a total scam site! Most of the profiles are fake and if they're not then they're really ugly! If you just want to have fun and chat with someone who may be a man anyway or a totally different person from another country like probably Ghana, Nigeria or Lagos or whatever. Believe me you will NEVER meet anybody from here. One way to tell is by there age and ethnicity. Ask how long they've lived where their profile says and if that's where they live now. Some are photos of models and keep changing their location with new photos. Their messages are garbled and words are mispelled a lot. They will want you to leave the site and communicate by email or text. If you're a stupid fool you'll do it. So go ahead take the chance and find out yourself.
