This had nothing but dark bar gigs, not a good fix for the artist I represent. I cancelled, yet they still charged me. When I contacted them to settle the issue they refused to give me the payment back and I was unable to check my account. As if they did it intentionally
These sites promote the farce that venues have difficulty finding good talent. Actually the opposite is truer and these sites don't facilitate the reality that good artist who are talented, reliable, and hardworking sometimes don't look good on paper or video. A good video can mean that everything the artist had no control over panned out.
The biggest beef with the site is too many venues that clearly have no desire to book a metal band, children's performer, or blues act will take submissions from them. Venues should be held to a limited number of genres that realistically reflect their actual vibe.
Sonicbids is a Social Music Marketing platform that connects bands, promoters, consumer brands and music fans. Sonicbids helps you set up an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) for easy submission of your music, videos, lyrics, and photos to anyone in the music industry. Sonicbids also provides significant information and opportunities to enter music contests, lyric contests, music critiques, concerts, festivals, recording contests, etc... It also lets you monitor your EPK and song traffic/hits/listens. Considering that many music industry entities won't (and justifiably so) accept hard copy CDs and press kits any longer, Sonicbids is a fast reliable, professional looking, and environmentally friendly option. Sonicbids may be worthy of a 5 star rating, but I am uncertain as I haven't yet learned to utilize all of its services (e.g., Facebook synchronization, set requirements, calendar events). Definitely not a scam.
Love Reggae/Blues Original Music. Found Rege Lark to be ALL That! Can't wait for his next CD! Come on Lark... produce please, LOVE your style and words!
When a friend of mine referred me to sonicbids years ago I was very excited about this service but I'm finding sonicbids not as good of a platform as I wished it to be.
I am a Mac user and I'm finding it utterly frustrating to be having constant issues with Sonicbids and Safari. A small gig listing can take much time. The only solution they have offered to me, is to use Chrome. As this is a site geared to musicians and many of us use Mac, I would appreciate a bit more effort from their part to make the site user friendly. A small gig listing can take forever it's not accepted. I used to enbed the gig listing part to my website but the information I'm required to enter into Sonicbids doesn't show on my website. Simple things like the address of a venue... and other important details. As my gig listings are important I'm back to entereing everything to my website. I would appreciate support by phone if I need it. I know many companies don't do this anymore but it certainly is a plus. Support gets back timely but things could move faster with phone support. Lastly the venues offered by sonicbids are not as versatile as I wish them to be (mainly geared to Rock and Singer Songwriters). Many, if not most are unpaid. This is a professional site for professional musicians. One would think to get offered professional rates instead of being asked to travel to some place with no compensation or place to stay. I guess one has to be a millionaire to be a working musician then. Music is a business and yes, musicians deserve to get paid well for all the hard work and effort they put into their work.
The team at sonicbids answered my questions and solved any issues I had in a quick and timely manner.
My question is how do you guys make money?
Is it when a venue or promoter or manager calls me to give an offer?
Thanks again.
I am happy how the company places the industry front and center. The opportunity to vibe with the different markets.
I use this service to enter en ISC and worked well, and I use Reverbnation, Soundcloud, before and I didn't have time to use and know well Sonicbids but its excellent.
Absolutely horrible experience. Avoid like the plague. They are leeches and (eventually) karma will catch up with them.

Hello Olakunle,
Thanks for the feedback. Sonicbids earns revenue through our subscription service. Users who subscribe can use the platform to apply to gigs that are posted there. Occasionally some of the really outstanding opportunities on our site will have an additional application fee, 100% these fees go direct to the organization (usually a festival) who have made the post with us.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to customer support via email at support@sonicbids.com.
