Bought a voucher for an escapes room that expires two weeks after purchased. I have been buying through Groupon for years now, and have never purchased anything that expired before 3 to 5 months. When I emailed the social shopper company, I found him to be rude, and unsympathetic to my situation. I hope you think twice about buying from them! Just stick with Groupon, much more fair buying system.
NEVER purchase any products from this website. I purchased a sports camera from them back in October of 2015. I gave them my correct address and it said that it would arrive between 10-20 business days... what a lie. It is now late December and (this is a Christmas gift) I still have not received the camera. I have tried contacting them by calling, emailing, and social media. No one has responded back to me. I have called them over 15 times now and not once did anyone pick up the phone or return my call. I don't believe they have anyone in customer service because there is no way you can call 15 times during business hours and not have someone pick up the phone. Ridiculous.
I've emailed 9 times to get a refund on a voucher. 1 response that was vague asking for more questions is all I got. Once I provided all the info they needed, I never heard back. I will never shop with Social Shopper again.
I asked for a refund in social dollars, not even on my credit card and it's been over a month and I still don't have it on my account, I have sent multiple emails and nothing yet, I have like 4 different support tickets numbers and at this point i feel like they are just ignoring me and that i lost $200.
After reading all the reviews I can't believe how they can keep doing this.
I purchased a get away on social shopper, which I knew had a period that it could not be used Dec 16/17-Jan 2/18. When I paid and downloaded the voucher, the voucher expired Jan 1/18, so there was no way it could be used. I have emailed Socialshopper 7 times and they will not respond or refund my money. They sold an expired product but will not stand behind it. I will never purchase from them again
I bought three nights at a hotel in Vancouver but was then faced with a family emergency. I tried to contact Social Shopper, only to find that the business does not have a phone number on the web site. I contacted them using their online form, requesting a phone call, and several days later received a short and unhelpful message from an employee named Evan stating that they did not take phone calls at all. I responded with an explanation about my family emergency and requested a phone call. It has been three days and I have still not heard anything by phone or email from Evan or any other representative. This company is dishonest and their service is unacceptable. Stay away from this horrendous company.
I have tried a few other similar online shopping sites and found Social Shopper the worst because:
1. Shipping time - site says 10-20 business days, but expect 40 days to be the norm. Most of the products were shipped directly from China.
2. No Corrrespondence - while waiting and worrying about the arrival of my purchases, I never heard back from several attempts via phone and email.
3. The quality of the merchandise - cheap products not worth the suggested retail cost advertised on the site. Could have bought them from a local store for the same or cheaper cost.
So, overall I would not recommend the site. The good news was I got my purchase!
I purchased a coupon for a dinner - local reviews for restaurant are crap so the next day i requested a refund on the voucher - very quick response saying no problem and i would see a credit in 10 working days - over a month now and multiple emails saying we will talk with the accounting department - still no refund the they approved.
Groupon carries the same vouchers and they refund quickly.
Living in Vancouver can be expensive, but with all the great deals SocialShopper.com offers, it makes it easier to still go out and experience fun things to do in Vancouver like restaurants, spas and also activities with my friends and family! :)
Disappointed - site showed free luncj, snack, 2 drinks and $25 in free gifts - got everything but free gifts - in fact the person running the as booth, told me he had had many people asking and suggested I email ss; which is what I did.
The disappointment doubled as the customer service did not have the courtesy to respond. Feeling that groupon is much more professional!
I had bought a voucher for the Phresh Spa for a massage through social shopper and the company ended up closing down. Social shopper has yet to respond to my email requests for a refund! They give no phone number to call their customer service department. I have tried contacting them a number of times - 5 times to be exact and nothing. I just tried emailing them again at *******@socialshopper.com and it looks like they have blocked my email. Do not trust this company to purchase anything. They take no accountability for the companies they market. And proceed to take your money and keep it if this happens. Amazing how they are allowed to stay in business with no customer service. Buy at your own risk!
Social Shopper offered me to join their network as a vendor offering heavily discounted services. I was hesitant but thought, why not, arent they like Groupon. I have to say the experience is a sore one, for not only did I not get any uplift in sales, beyond the first commission cheque, I have had to chase them and they have disappeared into thin air despite several emails. I mean, we signed a contract with a particular payment schedule, but not only did they not stick to it, they never paid up in full. Makes me think there's a bunch of young yahoos who got together this coupon website and they're jibbing people left and right. If I could give negative (as in -)5, I would! I've never dealt with such a professional company. After this experience, I feel I'd like to distance my business from them. Its baaaddd.
These people don't respond to emails or calls! They are such a scam we purchased a voucher for a hotel in Richmond that turned out to be the grosses hotel ever never ended up staying there and we asked for a refund for the voucher they wont get back to us!
Horrible customer service and not even a phone number to call them directly. They keep saying they'll get back to you, but they never do. Stick with Groupon.

I love social shopper. I have bought and used many of their social shopper vouchers (fashion items, salons, fitness, restaurants). One company that I bought 2 vouchers at shut down and social shopper promptly returned my money. I love their customer service and their products.

They will just apologize and forget the refund. Can't even provide a contact number if it's a legit company. Lesson learned from a cheap purchased.
Be smarter than me and check the reviews here and on the better business bureau site. They have no contact phone number and ignore emails.
