The company faces significant challenges regarding its reputation and customer service approach, as reflected in numerous customer reviews. Many users express frustration with unexpected charges, difficulties in canceling subscriptions, and inadequate support from customer service, which is often described as unhelpful and frustratingly inaccessible. Additionally, customers frequently report dissatisfaction with the service quality, including poor streaming performance and limited channel availability. While there are occasional mentions of positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust and reliability, prompting many customers to recommend alternative services.

They'll rip you off in a heartbeat. Tried to update from Orange to Orange and Blue and they charged me for both!
Don't bother calling. It's the typical run around, the person who answers can't help, the supervisor won't help and - I love this part - the supervisor has no supervisor! There is no higher authority in all of Sling TV than the one supervisor on duty the day of your call. They won't give you another number for someone higher up, they won't give you an email to contact, they won't give you anything. "Lily" who does not have a last name, was the ultimate and final say in all things Sling TV on the day I called. "Lily" told me I would just have to eat those charges.
She did suggest I look go searching for Sling's TOS and someone in there I can file a complaint. Don't bother. The hoops you have to jump through just to get to it is ridiculous.
Way too many options these days to put up with this bs.
I had monthly subscription with them. In May there was a promotion going on which was cheaper than the monthly option if I signed up for an year. I availed that option and cancelled my monthly subscription. I received an email confirmation in May stating my connection was disconnected. I was reviewing my credit card account yesterday and saw they have charged me in June, July and August. I called them and asked for a refund, but they would not refund my money. Also the reason they gave for charging me was that one of my devices attempted to connect to Sling because of which they re-activated the connection. I asked them to delete my card information. Also put a block on this merchant. This company is a fraud
1. They kept my credit card on file, even after I disconnected my service. I automatically assume, when any company closes the account they would not keep my payment information
2. Without my authorization, they started charging my card again. If I would not have noticed, they would have kept milking me
3. What is the guarantee that they have actually deleted my card information from their system now, and they wont automatically start charging me after few weeks
This is really scary.
Ordered the Polish channel package. Each channel comes in at a different size - portion of my actual screen. Sling tried to tell me that I should adjust my screen size to each channel and they will not refund my money. Be very careful paying these people for anything. Never received my $300 back and channels are unwatchable, and extremely poor quality - not to mention a quarter of my screen! I spoke with several people. No one attempted to make this right. Thieves.
More than 10 years ago, my oldest son was given a sling box by his grandparents and may have had the app on his first iPhone. It was kind of a passing fad and after the 1st year I don't believe he ever used it again. No one in my house has used a slingbox or sling tv app in at least 8-9 years, so when I saw a $1.00 charge come through as pending on my credit card for "Sling" I didn't think anything of it and never associated it with this tv box we had. At least not until the full charge came through as $140.30 for Sling TV. Turns out they posted the charge to a very old Amex card number of mine that I haven had (and has been expired) for at least 7 years. My son must have had an account with them, but that information has long since been lost. The only conclusion that I can come to here is that someone at Sling fraudulently charged my card. I disputed the charge and got the money back but that is sleazy. I have since read many stories about people getting charged for random things they didn't order from Sling TV. Maybe an attempt to boost their bottom line?
I dont get the negative reviews. I have had Sling for 5 years and it is AWESOME. I get premium channels, on demand, AND local TV through the internet hookup I have anyway. SSSSOOOOO much cheaper than cable! Very reliable!
When watching the X-files, The "Let's be Honest" commercial, where gay couples are kissing in bed, and transvestites are telling me to get tested for HIV, is repulsive.
Not to mention, that the volume is raised double during them. These commercials don't seem to run on regular broadcast TV, must be a Sling thing.
I HATE IT!.
We cancelled sling TV, received an email notification our service was cancelled. Two charges came through our account one for a full month of service, one for less than $1. I contacted them, was on the phone more than an hour. Was advised they had no record of my service being cancelled. They asked us to forward our cancellation email to them, right before we did they ask that a screen shot be taken so they know it's not tampered with. In forwarding them this information to *******@sling.com our original email legitimately disappeared. Thank God we had the screen shot because it came back as *******@sling.com was no longer in service. They than asked we email *******@sling.com. They supposedly filled out the paperwork but honestly my gut is telling me to cancel our card and fill out fraud paperwork with our bank. Red flags are going off all over esp because they couldn't advise what the charge less than $1 was for and stated the issues a refund for a different amount when they realized the error, never recieved any credits and honestly why should I pay a fee if it was your error.
I work in banking so maybe that makes me more suspicious than most but I feel uneasy.
If I have my tv on at a normal volume, the commercials are blasted at a very high volume. I have called twice about this. The first time, they told me others have experienced this and they have their engineering department working on it. I was told I would be contacted when they come up with something. I called back today, well over a week after the first call, and was told the same thing. I don't appreciate being placated. Either it gets fixed, or I'm leaving.
Horrible customer service and product, stay away at all costs.
They scam you into starting service for an entire year and then it turns out the service isn't even compatible with your TV. Then they make you buy another device to hook up to your TV to force it to be compatible. Turns out the services aren't worth all this. You can't even change the channel with the remote, you have to go back to the home page and select the next channel you want to go to... EVERY TIME! The size of the screen doesn't even fill up the TV and there's no way to fix it. You go to cancel the service only to find out a month later that they already charged you for the whole year. You call back asking for a refund and they apologize and say they can't help you.
If this isn't the biggest commercial scam in the TV program industry I don't know what is.
DO NOT USE SLING TV!
Waste TV. I am going to switch to other service. Rude customer service. Avoid this. MyIndian TV is far far far better.
Sling absolutely SUCKS as a company. The old bait and switch Buy a $100 gift card and receive a free Roku. Sounds like a good deal, but what they didnt mention is even though you had been a preexisting paying customer, you have to prepay for 2 months ahead of time at the same time to qualify for the offer. I canceled the account right then and there at the end of the billing cycle.
Wish I had read the reviews on before subscribing to Sling's free Roku offer with 2 months prepay. I bought it believing I was going to see the World Cup, Wimbledon and then possibly keep the subscription. When I discovered within a few hours that I could only get a few World Cup matches (and of course not the most important ones) I tried to cancel but they would not budge.
I could not have imagined that a 'major' player in the US market with a lot of competition could have such a poor and inflexible customer service policy. If a customer can't get what they want from your service and made a mistake and told you in a timely manner then it is a no-brainer to refund.
BTW: I'll be sure to read yelp reviews before I purchase something again because it shows an accurate review of Sling. Other review sites appear to be advertising for the companies themselves! Perhaps this why Sling gets a 4 stars review on one site when it is in effect 0 stars.
Subscribed on this offer to watch matches of FIFA, today June 30th, havent be able to watch anything, I want my subscription money back! Is is true they are linking with Comcast?
I subscribed to the sling service specifically to watch the soccer World Cup and I was NOT able to do so due to a technical problem that they were not able to resolve at their end. I got multiple error messages on my iPhone and it did not work on a different device either. The major error I received was 10-100 but there were other errors. I made a big mistake on not trying out first.
I spoke to the customer service and they were NOT HELPFUL to resolve it. Issue was escalated but was still not resolved and I did not get to see important matches. As a result I had to subscribe to another service.
I asked for a refund of my service but was denied in vain. I also spoke to the floor supervisor (John, ID: IUK) and he was unable to resolve the issue and also denied refund. This is totally UNACCEPTABLE. He read the terms and conditions but the terms seem to be a SCAM especially if you are not able to provide the service that I paid for. Hence they should have refund but they denied.
Thank you and hope this helps to not use sling TV to watch World Cup soccer.
They are selling a service that they can't provide. I subscribe to watch the games in Portuguese but I was not able to do it. I called several time... Terrible customer service.
Charge my card after I canceled the subscription and would not give me my money back spoke to three different people even a supervisor and he was so rude
I found that I was being charged a $19.99 recurrent fee for Sling TV yet I did not sign up for these services with any of my e-mail accounts. I called customer service and was told that they will not tell me what e-mail address was used to initiate my service. I provided them with all of the e-mail addresses I have, and was told none of these was used. Thus, I am unable to follow-up with this e-mail provider and will have to vigilantly check my monthly statements to make sure Sling TV does not bill me for another false account. I was offered a refund of the most recent month, but not for the past months in which I did not notice this recurrent charge. This is very disappointing and poor customer service, and there are possibly fraudulent billing practices occurring.
They charged 73.61 PPV fight which I never ordered or Watched. I assked for the watch history list they told they will get back after analysis. Next day I got a mail they can not refund the money for what I never order for. Dont enroll with you credit card they will steel your money Be careful.
Sling.com just charged me $24.99 for a month of service. I was out of town last week and no one was home. They claim someone in my household signed up. Really? The charge was on the 18th and i just happened to notice it on my credit card bill. It is now the 27th and i called to tell them there was a mistake. They said they were sorry but they could not refund the money. I had signed up months ago for their free trial and ended it within a day because i knew it wasn't what i wanted. Now months later they start charging my card. The fact that they have horrible reviews speaks volumes. What a totally crooked company.
Low quality of videos, Inaccurate information, useless customer care center. I have wasted $120. They don't have refund option also
Answer: They are rip offs fir real. I think everyone shpikd ban together gor a class action suit.
Answer: Go with your gut on this one. Click away from Sling
Answer: Don't even waste your time on sling. Don't know where you live, but there are so many more options today than there was say 5-10 years ago. Look around.
Answer: The ROKU rocks! Just avoid SLING TV at all costs. When they rip people off the FCC will not make them give you the money they owe you. The FCC just says We received your complaint and you should be hearing from SLING. What a joke! I am out $50.00, because SLING told me they were only taking major credit cards or the SLING cards. I purchased 2 $25.00 SLING cards to pay my $40.00 bill. The cards only come in $25.00 amounts. It would not take them. I called and called and got different CS agents. The cards would not go through. I got all kinds of reasons the cards were not working. I finally dropped SLING and went back to Spectrum. Something I vowed to never do. The day I called SLING to tell them I no longer wanted their service, and to tell them why I was unhappy the CS agent told me that the cards only work on the bill due date. Blah blah blah. I dontt know what happened with SLING. The service was great for a long time. Then they went to those stupid cards that would not work.
