I bought my Skybell in 2017. It set up easily once connected to the power source from my old plain doorbell. My house transformer also powers my smoke detectors so I upgraded the transformer to be sure it had enough power for all devices. Video quality is really good and the recording feature is free, a big plus that there are no ongoing expenses. Live Street view is nice and the ability to talk to the person at the door is a welcome feature. It worked with the chime that was part of the old doorbell system, at no extra expense. I had some issues with slow notification and contacted customer support. The response from support was fast and helpful. Fast, friendly, helpful, and with great technical knowledge. I've seen some others with negative comments but that has not been my experience. Other than the slow response time of notifications the camera worked very well. A faster response as in close to immediate would be the only improvement I could recommend. Visitors would sometimes come and go before I was notified. But they were recorded and I could see who it was as well as a timestamp with the saved video.
Had less than 3 weeks an won't restart. ADT did install. Leave regular door bell not worth time for install. Camera never work right and had start up issues.

I purchased a cove alarm and received a skybell doorbell for free from Cove. I see why it's free. It is a piece of junk. I would not recommend this doorbell to anyone. Since day one, for over 5 weeks now, all I have had is problems. It'll work for one minute then the next minute it's offline. You try to resync it. It won't work. I have spent 12 hours off and on in the last 2 days trying to sync this thing to make it work. This is one of 100 times I've tried to get it to work. Whatever you do don't buy skybell they suck.

The Skybell Slim Line is extremely difficult and frustrating to install and activate. The instructions that come with the Skybell are unclear. After struggling just to get it to power up and sound with the doorbell chime, I wasted HOURS trying unsuccessfully to get the Skybell to sync. Eventually I gave up in extreme frustration. A week later, I tried again and it mysteriously managed to sync this time. However, it only worked for about 2 minutes before failing to connect. This is my first attempt working with a video doorbell, and my experience has been HORRIBLE. Calling Skybell Support is not helpful at all. Seriously, DO NOT waste your money or time with this awful product.
We received a skybell as a gift. It stopped working after 3 months. We contacted tech support twice and we were instructed to change the transformer, which we did. We were, also, in email contact with Skybell's technical support agent, in which they said, there was nothing wrong with their product. Our signal is strong and, well, basically, they just washed their hands with our complaint and ended contact with us. In our opinion, the Skybell and their tech support are not worth ones time. We are very disappointed, especially, with Skybell's backing of their products. This product doesn't even deserve one star.
The service online y negative 10... while the process in the apps sucks... been having problem connecting my skybell, have tried everything and still nothing... its frustrating...
My skybell worked ok for about 6 months (minor things after 3 months, anyway I called customer service serval times the last person today (06/23/2021) I called had me doing the same thing the other 2 did but this guy went a extra step and had me doing a tech support for them by him telling me to use a volt meter to check the voltage at the bell then asked me to disassemble the skybell to disconnect the internal battery but why I'm I doing work for them? And the cherry on top was him telling me the unit is bad and to call the installer WTH?. Waste of money, would not recommend this product to anyone not even my worst enemy stay far away from this product and company!

Will break in few months only. The horrible customer service will never replace it under warranty. Look at the company reviews and complains on BBB website and make your Own decision.
Do NOT waste your money. You will feel sorry on month 1
No support if you have an installation issue. Problem connecting and not working at all. I had to return through eBay.
The unit worked for awhile and now doesn't. Contacted support via email and described the symptoms and they responded to something entirely different. I again responded and gave more in depth description of the symptoms and they have ignored my response. No help at all. Phone call to support eventually goes to voice mail. Giving up on this unit. Don't waste your money, buy something else
The response I received from the company is typical of the support from SkyBellits ALWAYS the fault of the customer. All any customer has to do is look at the too many complaints online to understand that this company has no interest in helping its customers. I agree, I'm at fault for not reading the many negative reviews prior to my purchase. Buyer beware!
Since I purchased my SkyBell these are the most important problems I have had:
- The SkyBell loses its connectivity to the wifi very often for no apparent reason. I have an excellent wifi signal that covers my entire house. All of my other smart devices work perfectly without any problem, except for the SkyBell. When I want to connect to the device, a message often says "try again later" or "live stream cannot be established". It makes the device absolutely unusable as a doorbell and unreliable as a security device.
- The SkyBell has an abnormally long connection time. When the device works, it takes at least 15 to 20 seconds for the camera to stream. Most of the time, I have to give up on the device and rush to the door to answer my visitors, who are already waiting and think I'm not home. When there's a warning, connecting to the live stream takes so long to establish the danger has often passed. There's also no guarantee to have both sound and video.
- The SkyBell has serious issues with its camera. I often don't get any alert on my phone while the mail person or UPS driver has just left packages at my door. Or, I get too many false alerts while it's clear nobody is around when I'm home and come to check myself. I attempted many times to adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor but it doesn't make any difference.
- The SkyBell customer support experience is awful. The company shows no interest in solving problems. It's very hard to communicate with them. The "live chat" on their website is always offline. If I leave a message, it typically takes at least 24 hours before I get a reply. And, their reply always claims that the problem is with me: for example, my wifi signal, or my electrical connection or? It's clear my SkyBell was defective from the beginning.
For all of these reason, I'm requesting a full refund of my purchase price.
Is the Skybell a doorbell or vacuum cleaner? Probably the later as it REALLY sucks! Skybell has an impressive marketing strategy. After 2 years of ownership, the device is still not working as advertised. Contacted Tech Support within a week of original purchase/installation. Lots of bait and switch about firmware upgrades to resolve the operational issues. No resolution after all of the firmware upgrades and Tech Support calls/emails. Two years of non stop BS! Today I sent an email to Tech Support to request that they replace the device since they couldn't make it work. The response is now "Your device is no longer covered by warranty". Buyer beware!
I had some problems for the instration at the out door and one day I had rain and finally dead!
This is not all weather product but indoor or just in front of door side where no rain drop.
If Skybell improve this problem I will reconsider to install it unless I don't recommend it now!
I've had 2 fail within 3 months. The company will not exchange them instead they offer a coupon to spend yet even more money on another unit, that in my experience will fail within 3 months. BUYER BEWARE, or better yet DO NOT BUY

I ordered the skybell camera doorbell through Amazon. It came without a tiny but necessary mounting screw. The tel# listed in the user manual did not work, so I sent an email to them. The response I got back required me to jump through a bunch of hoops to prove that I had their product. I am sending the product back to Amazon for a refund. For want of a miniscule part, they earned an "I hate it" review on Amazon, and because of their customer (dis)service, they've lost a customer and prompted this review.
After watching the slick promotional video, I was gung ho to sign up, and I did, purchasing it directly from the SkyBell company in Irvine, CA. When it arrived and I read the accompanying instructions, I called them to find out how to send it back! They wanted me to have a voltage meter to test electricity and my warranty would be void without this step. Who has this at their house? It wasn't disclosed in the promotional material. Anyway, I tried to set it up and it just kept blinking that the unit was "charging". That was supposed to happen for the first 10-15 minutes but after an hour, it was still going. Skybell support (when they finally picked up) was pretty useless. I was told that to get a refund, I have to mail it back at my expense. I said I only live a mile away and I will drop it off, which they refused to let me do. Don't get sucked in!
