Don't even go near as i was impressed at first but ended up seeing that it was a total waste of time and money!..
Seems like a Church of Scientology scam. You are bombarded with an interrogation of who you are, which takes nearly a half hour to complete, and then the drop the bomb of outrageous paid membership prices. I tried this with one other site a year ago, and they scammed me, started debiting my debit card right and left until I was left with no choice to cancel the card. Do not pay to date, especially online, because if you do you are just accepting the world's oldest profession and I suspect these sites are owned by men, who are welcome to meet me in the ring, who get their rocks off trying to get others to jerk off to their scams...
The software/ tools on this site do not easily provide the ability to scrutinize a search and keep those searches for the next time you log in. And the daily matches were nit what I set as my filter. I thought I had canceling subscription, it automatically renewed for 6 months - the day I got the notice I sent a cancellation email back and was still charged for the 6 months. I had not been on the site in 2 months. No warnings that the auto renewal was going to occur. Be aware of this site
They censor your profile even when you follow the guidelines. I found out they had blocked a profile from view for a full (paid) month and they refused to refund. Liars, cheaters, scammers. Worthless site...
I wish I'd read all of these reviews before I signed up... I've had the same experiences as almost 100% of the people here. Including being contacted by someone 'from the site' who's friend saw my photo and just had to meet me, so he gave me his email address. I used a junk email account of mine to contact him our of curiosity and of course, he's a widower, an orphan, good looking (sent two adorable pictures), is from Italy but claims he came to the U.S. to get a 2nd degree, blah blah blah but won't answer any questions about where he currently lives, etc etc. I emailed SS to ask if the "friend's" profile was real or a scam and directed them to the message. No answer after two days. It is Silver Singles that is a scam!
There is no phone number to call and they do business in the Netherlands.
Do not even get on this site. It's a money suck. And they are a lie...
I joined but they charged me more than advertised? I tried to cancel then they wanted me to put in my password to cancel and or course it said the password was wrong? {It was the correct password i used} tried to renew my password they sent a password change request to my email i clicked on the renew password link quess what nothing happened
The ACCC need to check out this mob they are crooks stay away there is better sites to use
Don't go near this site. They reeled me in, then deducted 2 months of my already paid for subscription when I refused to renew my subscription. Now,, they have locked me out of my account, asserting my password is not good when it has been the one i've been using since the start. No where is there posted a phone number to contact them. They do not accept clearly written complaining emails without going through one of their "questions" being identified. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE. I wasted $136.00!
Pointless filling in your preferences because they take no notice. I asked for no matches without a photograph - most of the daily "matches" had no photograph. I said the distance should be no more than 50 miles as otherwise how can you have a relationship? They took no notice of this either! I emailed them several times and they said that they dont send send matches on your preferences but on the psychological match = what is the point in filling in the preferences then?!
AFTER USING SILVER SINGLES FOR ONE WEEK, I COULD NOT GET INTO MY ACCOUNT. CALLED THEIR PHONE # *******444.
I WAS TOLD THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY COMPUTER AND THEY NEED ACCESS TO IT, I IMMEDIATELY HUNG UP.
THIS IS A SCAM! DO NOT LET ANYONE GET ACCESS BY INTERNET TO YOUR COMPUTER.
ONLY WAY TO CLOSE THEM DOWN IS DISPUTE CHARGES WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY. Once a dispute is open with Credit Card Company, they flag that company. If any of their customers has a similar charge from that charging company, they refuse to process it until verification is made with the customer of the credit card.
As with many others, I ended up going through many personal questions a week ago. My only absolute was a non smoker. During the week I was given several smokers and 99% of matches were all from many other states. There was only one other person showing that is in my area/County, but I did not get any response from her, even after a couple of attempts. So most profiles are not valid, or do not want to do anything more with the company, or can not have access to the site that they paid for, (such as myself). Now I understand, the week that I did have usage, and communication with others were all new enrollees, such as myself
After one week I could not get back into the site. I asked to have them sent me a new password, but no email was received even after several attempts to request to have my password reset. When I signed up, there was a phone number which I called *******444. When it was answered it sounded like a call center in a " Boiler Room"with a heavy foreign accent, I informed the individual that I could not get back into Silver Singles. The individual wanted access to my computer to find out what is wrong with my computer. I told them there is nothing wrong I just need to have them reset the Password. I was told they cannot do that, and need access to my computer, which is a BIG SCAM.
Their Fax number for support is in Germany.
What a scam! 1st off, they advertise a monthly rate; but if you accidentally join (which can happen!), they'll charge a full year! Then, beware, it automatically renews every year; so watch out! So how do you accidentally join? Well, if you just want to see what the bottom line is or if you can specify how long you want your membership to be for, you start in PayPal. Well, I wasn't worried. PayPal normally doesn't charge you anything until you authorize it, so you can go all the way through the process to the tax and shipping, and you still won't be charged. That's NORMALLY. With Silver Singles, once you start the PayPal process and after you've completed so very much of a personal profile that you really don't want to start over, you're stuck. You can't go back at all. You can only continue on, and then they charge you for the entire year instead of their advertised monthly amount. So you pay it all up front. Then, no matter how many times you choose your preferences, it always defaults to something else. Like I don't like guys to be shorter than me, but it just keeps going back to 5'6" as the minimum height; and it doesn't let you specify, say, I don't like bald dudes (sorry you bald dudes). So I get a whole lot of short bald dudes, etc., etc., etc. Run!
I thought i was signing up for $29.95 for a month but when i cancelled the service prior to one month they then charged me for the 12 months. I will contact them but it appears other people have been scammed by this crowd as well. I don't like my chances getting my 11 months refund.
If there was a negative number that's what I would rate this site. I called the customer service number and they hung up on me twice. Once I was told that I had called the wrong number( false) and once the man who answered asked me why I wanted to cancel because" I sounded so beautiful "... disgusting and probably a total scam
A legitimate site would reveal faces and data base. Instead faces are obscured. You end up going through loads of some what personal questions. Then when you finally finish, they bombard you with so called people liking your comment/ profile and some kisses come in.
Still you are unable to view the faces until you pay up for minimum of 3 months with auto renewal unless cancelled at least 24 prior expiry. But of course that is well hidden in their policy conditions way down at the bottom. Obviously hoping most won't read that far. Always best to go straight to the bottom where the most important information is kept.
So i get people apparently interested in me who made the contact to me at a God forsaken time like 7 am or 1 am in the mornings. A good indicator that it is from a another country with a bogus person apparently from Australia. In short? Stay clear of this Mop.
To subscribe with Silver Singles is like to throw your email address to a garbage bin. The next day after I made this mistake, I started receiving trash emails from e everywhere. And I cannot do anything about it, Unsubscribe don't help.
Also, they will be sending you the same people profiles over and over again. I keep deleting the same people, but they come back with the lable NEW. Their filters don't work work, either.
Don't buy their service. Save your money!
Where to start? Expensive, full of potential scammers, auto renew hidden away - really terrible service.
Don't waste your money or time with SilverSingles. When my account was hacked I sent customer service 4 messages and 3 emails and they never responded. Then after 2 days they send me an email telling me they deleted my account. My paid premium account. Umm hello? No refund or explanation? They also have no phone number you can call to talk with them directly. This is the most frustrating service I have ever used.
This site is a huge scam. Do not sign up. Since signing up for a paid membership, I have gotten a malware virus on my computer. I called their IT help desk for support and was told I would need to pay them $149 to take a look and it may cost more for them to remove the Trojan. I told them to refund my membership immediately. They said it was my problem. The company is located in Berlin Germany and they say you can't sue them... well, I have notified my CC company and am getting a refund and also blocked them from their automatic renewal. Never again.
Answer: You do not want to sign up to this site for even a minute. They are scammers through and through. They will have no matches for you but will clear your bank account. Please don't join.
Answer: File disputes with your CC company and/or PayPal I am fighting for a refund also report them to anyone that matters we have to get the word out
Answer: YOU BEEN SCAMMED! I PAID ABOUT THE SAME, BUT I WAS ABLE TO SIGN ON AND USE IT. BELIEVE ME, YOU'RE BETTER OFF AS IT'S FULL OF SCAMMERS, MEN POSING AS WOMEN AND WOMEN POSING AS MEN TO GET YOUR $$$. I HAVE 457 "MATCHES" ACCORDING TO THEM. 457? BS
