“A good email service for 2 years, willing to help customer”

Bằng P.
6/4/21

I use 1000-2000 mails / month, I registered package with 40k mails. Someone put 400k spam emails to the system. Maybe the API keys is lost somehow. The Sendgrid helped to check the case and notified me to secure the account (I did not check it for 2 year). When I complaint about the monthly payment, Sendgrid checked the case and refund to customer. I'm appreciate about this.

“Unbelievable incompetent support and systems are brokan in multiple places”

Martin T.
8/23/23

I cannot believe that a company this size can be so incompetent. I worked through transferring my contacts ( 40,000+) from a competitor. I had several emails back and forth with them because of technical issues with adding people to the unsubscribe list. We spent a long time setting it up and then I sent the campaign. They stopped it after sending 9,000 emails saying there is "unusual activity in your account". There was no unusual activity - they are all legit. I contacted them via support ticket. They open my support ticket each time I sent it ( I can track their emails) - but they don't reply. I cannot contact them via chat online because it's broken and I cannot even create another ticket because "something went wrong". Unbelievable frustrating and incompetent. What sort of system is this? I believe I will be changing again shortly.

Had an account 10 years ago, tried to recuperate the password several times, email from email company never arrived.
Created new account with another domain I own. Received email telling me they can't create my account for security reasons but no reason given. Took me 2 wasted hours to arrive at that point. And I can leave this review in 2 minutes, totally worth it.

As a SaaS provider I have integrated through API, not only it was hard and required a couple of hacks, but I had to realise the hard way that a lot of their IPs are in RBLs and support won't remove them or take care of the offenders that led those to be blacklisted. As our client ended up with a 30% delivery rate they forced me to move to Amazon SES.

We reported an issue 2 weeks ago and we are still waiting on a resolution or assistance. They do not help or follow up with any issues. I will be canceling this service. The worse experience ever.

Next time you get spam from some shady sex/dating/gambling site - check the email headers. Odds are it's SendGrid pumping it out.

Super aggressive/unethical marketing emails breaking the law by having no unsubscribe function? Yep probably SendGrid.

With SendGrid its easy to find bounced and dropped emails, and reasons for them to quickly resolve issues. I manage user support for a web application. SendGrid helps me troubleshoot issues - did the users password reset email get sent and is stuck in a spam filter? Is their ISP blocking our domain? I also have a hand in marketing, and knowing which trigger emails get opened by users help us improve our customer engagement.

Horrible service, horrible customer service, and they do everything they can to not let you cancel their service.

Campaigns weren't sending properly, had to make multiple tickets and spam their support so they actually work.

Customer service is extremely slow. And they don't help on their end, they mostly stick to their script speech telling you to read their guidelines. Sendinblue's service talks back in an hour and I spent a fraction of the price. Doesn't make sense. They don't put budget in service it seems.

They try their best to make get money out of you, can't remove credit cards, can't change them. Have to cancel in advance so if your team decides to change this month you can't, you're chained to their service. And they don't refund you. It's always your fault.

Despite having FREE plan they still keep charging, they are scammers.

Sendgrid is constantly collecting feedback from its users and improving their core products. I like how flexible their payment tiers are and how versatile their products are. Their customer support is top-notch as well and have a great developer support team. We needed transactional email, so the ability to send Sendgrid webhooks and have emails fired off for various events or triggers. We also use their inbound parsing functionality and email design templates. All of which have been incredibly useful to our core product experience. I say give them a try!

Verified purchase

Sendgrid take no responsibility when it comes to their users abusing their service. I constantly have emails blocked because of abuse by another user of SendGrid - and while they assure me that they're doing "all they can", the emails still remain blocked - and I guess sending the emails from another IP address is out of the question...

I have clients complaining that their emails aren't getting sent - and to be able to find out, I need to pay for an addon to my paid account to be able to see the event history via API.

The support person also suggested that I upgrade to a plan, so I'm paying 6 times as much to be able to just have better email deliverability - which is why I started using SendGrid in the flipping first place!

What a crock...

Tip for consumers:
Find something else.

Absolutely the worst software I've ever tried. Needed to use this for authentication because of the database I'm using and it takes forever to set it up, terrible UI and terrible service. Google auth a billion times better. $#*! this $#*!

We use Send grid as a provider for our external clients communication emails. Before implementing Send Grid we faced a lot of issues like spam mails and mail deliverable issue. We went through so many solutions to fix this issue, but not fully did we succeed. They we heard about Send Grid and we tried out. It is a horrible task to maintain your own mail server in today's scenario where mail providers easily mark large volume email senders as spam. So Send Grid is a good solution for all these solutions.

Sendgrid got much worse the past few years, currently I can't even set up an account and use it without having to go through annoying hoops that get in the way. Impossible for a non-techie to signup and use

We are working on e-commerce product and have decided to use SendGrid for sending our users confirmation emails. Everything was fine, users registered, emails sent, but after a week our SendGrid account was blocked without any notifications. After two support requests to SendGrid we have received email from them where they ask us to know more about our business. Our answer was very fast, but 3 days gone and no any feedback from SendGrid was received and our account still blocked.

So, be careful to use SendGrid in production - they may block your acc at any moment.

I've never experienced such a headache as I have with sendgrid once I signed up with the 2FA. I was able to sign in once, after that, I never received another code from the author app that I had to download to be able to sign in. I signed up with another email account, and set the 2FA to text me a code, I again received one text and have not been able to sign in again. You can't call in, they only offer that to the top tier customers. I have to try and rely on emails, fill out the form, wait. Get and email, wait, respond, wait. I'd go with another company.

Products used:
email service.

All is well with Sendgrid until something breaks on the account. You then spend days pointlessly firing emails at support. Reputations are damaged - 100's of customers are complaining and you get nothing back from Sendgrid. This is the second account messup we have had in the last few months and it takes days to get some sort of resolution. I am looking forward to migrating off this platform as it seems to be f*&^^%d.

SendGrid is the best overall goto service for sending transactional email. It's got every feature you could possibly want. If you don't have niche requirements or need extra tech support SendGrid is your best bet. For dependable transactional email, it's one of the easiest to setup and also one of the most well documented.

Sendgrid can send out large amounts of the email within short amount of time and the support is very helpful. Our business has grown because our deliver rate has increased over time with sendgrid's tool. So, I will recommend to other companies.

Their website doesn't work. It simply takes you into loop and you can't enter any support details. Support response is pathetic.

This company is the pits. I get so much spam from them (from their clients) it is unreal. Spam is rare from the likes of Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Aweber etc but Sendgrid is incessant. They are a magnet for spammers. You send them an email to report it and their standard answer is to unsubscribe. Are you joking? Unsubscribe from something you never subscribed to? Doing so will just tell the spammer your email address is active. They don't seem to understand how spam works and the fact that by reporting it you're actually doing them a favour.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use this business if you are a legit business and value your brand. They send so much spam you are in danger of getting lumped in with the bad guys.

Sendgrid are Terrible.

I once considered using them for my email service provider, but then I noticed that they were using my email address to send me spam emails. I got email after email from companies I'd never heard off, and I identified them all as being sent from Sendgrid (Spamcop stated this when it sent my spam complaints to the originator of each of the spam emails - ALL were from Sendgrid).

NONE of these spam emails had an unsubscribe link on them, so I couldn't unsubscribe and so I kept on getting more and more.

Without knowing an email address to write to to stop this deluge of spam there was nothing I could do to stop them. As a last resort I used hunter.io to find out all the email addresses associated with Sendgrid and I forwarded some of the spam emails to each of the Sendgrid addresses.

Surprise, surprise, that woke them up!

It seems that Sendgrid doesn't like receiving spam emails either!

But the email I got from the "Twilio SendGrid Abuse Team" (Twilio is their parent company) did not provide much confidence in them. Their lame effort was:

"Kindly note that Twilio is a data processor, not a data controller, and we cannot remove you from our customers' databases. Because many companies use us as a provider, we are not able to prevent you, globally, from receiving communications from us.

"Whilst we share in your frustration, if you're not receiving mail directly from us, but are receiving mail from one of our customers who is using the SendGrid platform, you will need to unsubscribe from each customer's mailing list individually."

In other words I was made to unsubscribe from each spam list that I hadn't subscribed to in the first place! Sendgrid set up the system that allows this to happen and yet they are unable to stop it happening. So "Don't blame us: blame the people who use us". I've never heard anything so pathetic and lame in all my life.

They even phrased it so that I felt a bit guilty about complaining about all the spam...

Since that time about early March I've been getting spam emails from them still, and each one I have to unsubscribe from individually.

Then the next one comes along, and I have to drop what I'm doing and unsubscribe from that.

Sendgrid and Twilio do not operate within the CAN-SPAM code of conduct or any other anti-spam directive; they are a feckless and useless company.

So God help the people who sign up for their service. Do they know that a lot of the emails they're paying for is being sent to people who don't want it? Probably not.

Do not use this company.

The low price made me skeptical to begin with. So I only put one contact in my database and tried to send an email just to test it out. I made the email and hit "send". And for some reason, they only allowed that campaign to being labeled as a "request". The email never made it to the "delivered" section. So I logged back in and checked the status after a couple of days and that campaign was still not delivered. So I made a duplicate email and hit send again just to see if maybe I did something wrong. Same thing happened. So in a nutshell, they would not deliver "one" email to "one" person for me. And I tried to find some help on the website. They dont have and email or a support staff as far as I saw. So I would never give them a dime, because there is nobody to help me with my issue. And, after reading the other reviews on here, i'm inclined to believe that the positive reviews have to be fake. As far as their business model, it seems like a good way to make a lot of money before they get shut down (if they get shut down). The picture shows how I have two campaigns that were never delivered. And they haven't given a reason why and they dont have support so I can find out why. They suck in my opinion.
