My Rolex watch from the early 1980s was given a full service costing way over 1,000 Pound in 2018. The watch timing was off over a few minutes per week. They agreed to reset the timing again in 2020 and then started to lose time. Brought it back to Rolex, St. James Square, London and wanted 1000 Pounds to reset the time again in 2023. My conclusion is don`t buy a Rolex and use an independent watchmaker to repair.

I bought myself a Blue face Rolex Submariner with the gold and stainless bracelets in 1987 after I won a national salesman of the year award. A couple of other salesmen had it and I thought it was the most beautiful watch in the world. It still is. It's a classic and someday my son will have it. I use a watch winder as it self-winding. I've never had to do a thing to it in 33 years and it keeps great time and is beautiful. I did send it in about 20 years ago for a cleaning or something, but otherwise, it's been awesome. Rolex is classic.

You can literally buy ANY timepiece of Rolex and it will be a timeless classic.
Even their models that are not so popular among the public are actually cool.
Let's take the Rolex Milgauss. This is the model that was made specifically for the scientists who worked in the magnetic environment. So that Milgaus could resist the strong magnetic field and won't lose the time.
Such a brilliant watch brand.

I truly believe that Rolex is the watch that you buy only to celebrate some achievement in your life.
